Hey all,

Yes, Hentzenwerke.com. That assumption made, I've got a new developer with
a lot of web dabbling and not much formal training are large app experience.
Hentzenwerke suggests Fundamentals as the first book. I know it covers 6,
but the basics have not changed a lot since then so that makes some sense to
me. Anyone have any experience w/ this book or another recommendation as to
which to start a newbie off with?

TIA,

John

Hi John:

I have not read that book from Hentzenwerke, so I can offer no comments on
it. However, I have sent many people to this web site that offers free
information on using VFP 6.0. Like you said, a lot of the basics have not
changed, so I think this is a good place to start.

I hope this helps.

"Effective Techniques" (Booth and Sawyer) is also a good one. Depending on
what your app is like the more specific books (Advanced OOP, Client-Server)
will also be helpful.

Another idea is the live classes or self-study courseware from TakeNote
Technologies (www.takenote.com).
