Hello and thank for the help. Also, happy holidays and happy new year to
all.

In the form designer, for most objects, you have top, left, height, and
width.

Is there anything similar for the report writer?

How do you make small adjustments to a box or line to line it up with other
objects in the report. I can easily move the box with the mouse but I can't
make small adjustments to its size.

I turned off "Snap to Grid" but the adjustments still have to be made with
the mouse and it is difficult. Is there any way to numerically specify the
width of an object in the report designer?

Thanks,
Jeff

Do you mean the Report Designer?

If you double-click on the object you then have top, height, left and width.

To make adjustments to height and width without typing in explicit values,
hold down the SHIFT key and then use the cursor keys.

Sincerely

Stephen

YES

Not in VFP 7 SP1, you are referring to 8 or 9 perhaps? In VFP 7 you get
three choices for "Object position". They are Float, Fix relative to top of
band, or Fix relative to bottom of band. You do not get top, height, left,
and width.

This works like a champ. Thanks

To move an object, select it and then use the up, down, left, or right arrow
keys.

To resize an object, select it and then use Shift + the arrow keys.

To align multiple objects, select them all, then select Format / Align from
the menu. There are a variety of options for aligning. There is also a
"Layout" toolbar you can open up that has the alignment options.

Thanks for the help.

I use those options all the time. I was hoping for a way to set Top, Left,
Height, Width explicitly.

There's a setting to show position info down in the status bar.
