Just talked to a small software house.
More jobs in PHP than Foxpro. At least,
they found a replacement. :)

It is a shame about Foxpro. What a great tool that MS is just dumping.
So you would recommend learning PHP and MYSQL?
Thanks,
John

Well at least that company found more customers accepting
Linux+Apache+MySQL+PHP (LAMP) as solution.

That company still wants to hire me (though I am resting now).
So... yes, it's in my wish-list. :)

I knew another Foxpro shop (focused in POS, a bit bigger)
that also did a LAMP system for a restaurant (including Hylafax
to fax P.O. to suppliers). But this one is more interested in
switching to another M$ tools.

How long do you all think VFP programmers and the community will be around
for? Do you think Microsoft could eventually develop an OS that purposely
won't run VFP apps?

Mike

Years yet. What the size of the community will be is another
question.

They can do that now. I do not think that they will bother, or
it will be part of a bigger effort.
