    - Help With DECLARE DLL I need to utilize some functions in a 3rd party dll. I'm using the DECLARE statement, but I keep getting the "Cannot find entry point FuncName in the DLL". I used dumpbin /exports on the DLL. The function names look like this: _Function1@8 _Function2@8 I've also tried: DECLARE integer FunctionName IN that.dll ALIAS "_Function1@8" But this returns the same error.     - SQL Query Dilemma I have a table (fictional table for simplicity purposes) Table: 1. CustNo 2. InvNo 3. InvDate 4. InvTotal Lets say the table has 10,000 records with 250 different customers over a period of 4 year (2000-2004). There can obviously be many records for the same customer . I want to run a query to pull the most recent invoice for all my customers as of 12/31/2003. Assuming they have an invoice on or prior to 12/31/2003. How do I do this?     - errors when upgrading from VFP 6.0 to VFP 8.0 Has anyone had experience resolving the following two errors when upgrading your applications to VFP 8.0? 1) Error Number 2034: Date/datetime evaluated to an invalid value. This error happens at seemingly random times - and when trying to repeat the error using the same user/application/steps/data/PC, it is often not repeatable. We do not change the SET DATE setting from the default value (I have seen other postings where that was suggested as a potential cause). Is there anything that might correct this problem (SET STRICTDATE, etc.) ? 2) Error Number 2066: Index file "DBF FILE PATH/NAME" is corrupted. Please rebuild it. As with 1), this error seems to occur at random times and generally is not repeatable. We have a VFP 6.0 application and database that we are planning to upgrade to VFP 8.0 We use two builds of the application that are running in parallel (one in 6.0 and one in 8.0). The tables are reindexed nightly in VFP 6.0 In the VFP 8.0 version only, we have SET ENGINEBEHAVIOR 70 and SET TABLEVALIDATE TO 0 - the two builds are otherwise identical (the same source code). Does anyone have any clues how to correct the behavior described above? Any insight and suggestions would be much appreciated!     - Controls being refreshed twice! I have been battling for a long time now to work out why controls on my form get refreshed 2, 3 even 4 times when the form is refreshed. All this refreshing is unnecessarily slowing down my system and the form in question is a very complex one with hundreds of controls. My form is based on a class. In the Refresh method of the form, I have some form specific code and then I include a DODEFAUT() to run the refresh method of the base class. I have discovered that doing this causes all controls to be refreshed twice. In my case it is even worse as I have multiple levels of class. I would have thought that calling the dodefault of the refresh method would just run the refresh code, not rerefresh the form.     - VFP 7 SP1 very slow on an NT4 network We have a VFP7 SP1 application running on a Lan. All users of XP or Windows 2003 Server run very slowly, whereas Win 98 and Win2K workstations are much better. By slowly, I mean it hangs for long periods of time becoming almost unusable. Our server is NT4. Any ideas as to what to do about this?     - CursorAdapter.CursorSchema limited to 255 I am trying to get some experience with using the new CursorAdapter in VFP 8.0. I set DataType to NATIVE and try to create a cursor with all fields from the table. BuyCo.* It fills in the schema with a length over 255 and it will not let me go on. It will let me leave it blank. It won't accept .NULL. as a value. This is on a form with many textboxes that are filled by the fields of the table. Can I use the builder to create the CursorAdapter?     - how to change picture from every column of grid hi all, this is my fourth question related to my application having half form with grid and half form shows image list control as the user scrolls through the grid , the imagelist control shows the changing pictures of products. I put the code in the afterrowcolchange event of the grid for changing the pictures. I have three coloumn in my grid , once i move downwards on the first column the picture changes, but if i place the cursor on second column and moves downwards, than there is no effect on the picture and it remains same of the previous one. Without checking into things too deeply, I created my monster around the OLE of Microsoft Photo Editor. It was on my machine, it was on their machine, it seemed likely to be loaded on most machines. While my application works fine on most of their systems, AND I found out how to install it on the latest versions of office (since it is no longer automatically installed.) Im wondering what to do with machines in the warehouse and branch offices which do not have MS Office installed. Is there a better image OLE to use in order to display GENERAL IMAGES on a form? I built a custom olepublic class and built it as a .dll in VFP and included it in my InstallShield project. When I build the project in InstallShield I get the warning: Extracting COM data from 1 component(s) ** Warning: -4354: The build was unable to extract COM information from the file returnserver.dll in component returnserver.dll2.     - C0000005 errors: ODBC driver problem? I have written a very simple program with one form. Form is called from a prg using DO FORM Form READ EVENT VFP8 sp1, WinXP Professional sp1. Names of Excel spreadsheet(s) are input on the form. "Start" button reads them via ODBC SQLexec(), creates temporary dbfs containing the data from certain columns. The Excel data is then placed into a SQL database using the functions of the API for the application that uses the SQL database "Close" button click method does thisform.releas CLEAR EVENT Program usually crashes on the READ EVENTS line when the form is released Before importing each Excel row, data is fetched from the SQL database, again via ODBC, to see if that record was previously imported. My program, in other words, uses ODBC connections and SQLexec() for Excel and for SQL 2000 It also sometimes crashes on lines having to do with Selecting data from the SQLresult cursors into temporary tables (the raw data extracted from Excel or SQL needs to be manipulated--for example, all the text Excel columns are retrieved as memo fields). Also crashes sometimes when issuing USE near the end of the program to close the temporary dbfs. Also sometimes crashes when indexing the temp dbfs I have upgraded to VFP8, SP1. Closed and removed the FOXUSER file (not used by the program, anyway). Even tried replacing the form with old-fashioned SAY..GET..READ CYCLE code using old Foxpro2.6 screen techniques. (With that, it crashes sometimes on the READ statement I have checked my housekeeping: issued SQLdisconnect() when done with the connection, closed and erased temp files, etc To test, I removed code to load and call the functions of the application's API. That didn't appear to be the cause. (The API is well-tested and has been in use for a long time. I am beginning to think there is something wrong with the temporary tables created using SQLexec(). Perhaps an ODBC driver bug? Excel ODBC driver is v4.00.6019.00. SQL ODBC driver is v2000.81.9042.00 I have spent days on this and cannot deliver the program in this condition.     - cursoradapter odd behaviour with sql server When our application does a tablerevert when the user decides not to apply changes to an existing record, the details still show the changed values on screen even when you exit the screen and come back. Newly added records tablereverts work fine. The changes only disappear if you exit the whole application and come back in. Are there any additional code pages supported in VFP8 (or VFP9 BETA) that are not supported in VFP7?

The list of supported code pages in VFP7 and VFP8 is the same. I haven't
seen anything published about VFP9. You be able to pick up the public beta
of VFP9 in June.

Gary,
While VFP 7.0 added 7 new code pages over VFP 6.0, there is no =
difference in the newer CPZERO.PRG files, and this would imply that =
there are no new CPs supported.
