    - OLE-Drag'nDrop in COM-Object Hello In my application I use OLE-Drag&Drop. It's working ok. But one part of my app ist a COM-Object, also written in VFP8, using the same classes as the rest of the app. This COM-Object shows controls in a top-level-form. In this form OLE-Drag&Drop doesn't work. It's not starting, no matter, if I let VFP do the work (OLDEDragMode = 1 (Automatic)) or if I start it myself with OLEDrag (.t.) in MouseDown-Event. As soon, as I press the left mouse button, the control is in editing mode, means if I move the mouse with left button pressed, I mark text under the mouse. It's not entering the OLEDrag&Drop-mode. Some ideas? I've written a litte test application, which shows my problem. You can download it from www.ksoft.ch/download/oletest.zip. It's only 17k. Unzip it and build an exe in order to register the COM-Class. If you start the exe, you will see 2 Forms. Both are the same top-level-form, but one is opened from within the exe using do form, the other is shown from a COM-Object. In the form opened with do from OLEDrag&Drop is working, in the other form it is not. Funny, isn't it? Thank's a lot for every help I can get.     - grid content gone Dear All, I have make a menu on a parent form, two command on the menu, each command trigger one child form, each child form have a grid on it, one grid show customer information, the other grid show salesman information. But now, whenever the second grid show up, the content of the first grid will all gone. i have been using the .recordsource to set up the sql statement, no cursor name is duplicate for testing purpose. no relation between two form. am i doing somthing silly?     - decimal val n int val hi all, currently working on a project tat was done by someone else, n now having a problem. when i first init a form, i haf a txtbox called txtqty. if i try to enter a decimal val, say 2.23, it works perfectly well... however, on d same form, i haf a grid tat retrieves vals fr a database table. when i select a row from d grid, the afterrowcolchange() method of d grid will change d val of txtqty to d database val, for example 1. the problem is i cannot change d val 1 to a decimal say 2.23, but i can change it to int vals say 5 or 6. can anyone give me any solutions on wat may b causing this? the database field type is of n(6,3) and i haf chked all d valid() n refresh methods to c if they prevent any decimal input but found none.     - Ask for the method for moving file to other directory again Hi, I would like to ask how to move all the file in one directory to another directory using Foxpro 6.0? I have already tried to use dos command "run move e:\test1\*.* e:\test" and also "run copy e:\test1\*.* e:\test", but they are both not ok.     - SQL processing If I issue an SQL query and there is no index based on the key item to the query but other indexes should narrow down the search (and I call that info to help it), but the process is taking about 1 minute to come up with the results.     - Printing on a form 8.5 x 5.5 problems I have an application that prints on 8.5 x 5.5 forms. After I issue the print job to a single order or any odd number of orders to print, the dot matrix printer ejects a second form. I have tried setting the form length on the printer and that does not work. I don't see how to set the form length for (example Okidata ML320 printer) 5.5 through the windows printer set up.     - Moving from VFP7/SP1 to VFP8/SP1 Hi all! I have a view which works just fine in VFP7. But VFP8 complains "View definition has been changed". The view is of the type; Select ... join ... join ... where &lcWhereExpr1 union all Select ... join ... join ... where &lcWhereExpr2 My app has many views of this very flexible type and all except one works fine i VFP8 too. The view is added to a form´s DE with no data on load. The view´s requery command is in a page's activate. If I close and open the view before the requery it works in VFP8 too but then there occures other undesired things. Enginbehavior is set to 70. What´s this about?     - Windows form design guide - where? Isn't there a document (I think by Microsoft) that discusses guidelines to be followed when designing forms? Some sort of windows design guidelines? We have a person that likes to change the default colors of controls, and he sometimes comes up with some nasty color combinations.     - Foxpro and Open Files and Backup and Win 2000 Server Hello - I have a client who has problems with backup because files from my VFP application remain open even after users exit the application. He has made sure that all workstations have exited my application and yet the server still shows that files are open. He is blaming my application. I say it is the responsibility of the server or workstation to properly close out files when users exit my application. I have noticed that when a workstation is accidentally reset or when it freezes some servers will keep files open (like phantom files). Why doesn't the server close these files? I have heard there is a setting in Win 2000 that may be applied so that if a workstation is reset or logs off - all related files are closed.     - Printer error to a HP PSC 950 from FPw 2.6 application on 98 I keep getting an error when trying to print from a FPW 2.6 application to a HP PSC 950.     - Microsoft Access and Remote Access Views Hello - I'm trying to read an Access database into VFP so that I can convert it to VFP. I start by specifying the connection as Microsoft Access and enter the database name. I'm leaving the UserID and Password blank. From the project manager I then click the New button for a new remote view and select the connection I created. It then asks me to select a database name. I'm not sure why it asks me this since I already specified the database name in the connection.     - Are Report Commands Modal? Thanks in advance for any replies. Is the REPORT command modal when it is issued without NOWAIT modal? What I mean is if I have the following code: 1. This seems to me to be a basic and obvious question but I have some code that is essentially the same as the code above and sometimes the first report is failing with a "Variable Not Found" error for a variable that is in the query. The other reports are printing correctly. Previously I had this code being called from a form with a private data session and the error occurred every time. I was advised to change the form to use the default data session. At first I thought this had solved the problem but what I've discovered is that the problem still occurs but only about 1 in 10 times instead of every time. Also the code is contained in a PRG that is being called from a menu. When I ran the code with the debugger on it never failed. Also when I ran the code from a button on the form instead of from a menu on the form it didn't fail. If anyone has any clues as to what is going on here I'd appreciate hearing about it.     - Strange situation with AFIELDS() function I am running the AFIELDS function in a class in my program. It works on every situation but one, and it acts very strangely.     - 1a = eof??? Yesterday I have a big problem with a table. The table has 200000 records and a big size 144 Mb. While I was searching in the table (free table) it hang the system a lot of times. At first I think the table was broken and searching with an hexadecimal editor i found (sorprised) a lot of 1a marks (eof mark). Then doing my research i noticed that what is broken was the index but the cdx was not corrupted. I did: USE MYTABLE BROWSE i browse perfectly normal then i set SET ORDER TO MYINDEX and VFP was not responding and I have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL finally I reindex the table and the system started to work. The question is, 1a=eof, because then i open other tables (no more than 10 records) and i found 1a marks at the beginning of the table (it belong to a dbc). What is going on?? Anybody knows??? To speed up complicated select_sql statements we have a little exe that runs on a server which looks for particular files appearing and processes them and creates tables of the results of the sql for the main exe to use.     - Large File access I'm attempting to read a very large text file, 10Gb to be exact, but FoxPro natively only supports 2Gb files with its FOPEN(), FGETS() etc, functions.     - Row Highlighting using a container Object FoxPro allows you to Display multiple rows per record in a grid control by replacing the default text box control with a container object in a one-column grid. The container class I set up contains text boxes with the appropriate data. However I lose the â??the current row highlightâ?? effect.     - Slow view requery I have a parameterized view into a large MySQL table. When I requery the view, control is immediately returned to the command window. The record count for the view slowly increases at the rate of about 200 records a second. Bandwidth consumption is minimal, cpu is minimal. If I check the box the server is running on, I find that cpu on that box is also at a minumum. This looks like something is throttling the query, because everything is running at an idle. How can I: 1) Have control not return until the view is done being requeried 2) Have the system use max cpu/bandwidth instead of just idling along, so that I can get my results faster? I set the free table directory when I connect but I actually have some tables in other directories that I want to access. How can I perform a SELECT on tables from different directories via ODBC?     - VFP8 and mysterious C0000005 error Hello! I'm currently installing a application, made by VFP8 on some W2K PC's. The weird thing is that the program works fine on some machines, but fails with fault c0000005 on others. The application doesn't even start. It crashes just after double-clicking the icon.     - SET COLLATE problem Hi, One of application had a auto index feature. It used to work fine. However, recently, when working on displaying chinese character, I change my win2k system to chinese locale. Now, when my VFP5 open any dbf file, my system locale will auto change to chinese, any input into the dbf file will be display as chinese. That is when my application when doing auto indexing will give error of Error number: 1915 Error message: Collating sequence 'PINYIN' is not found. I had tried to set my application COLLATE TO "MACHINE" and use cpzero on my dbf file but all in vain.     - Grid columns and subclasses I know I can drop a base class into a grid column, e.g. a command button, and it's useable in design time, but is there a way to do this if I've subclassed it? I've tried using the class browser (VFP7/8) but it doesn't want to work for me. So accordingly to what was mentioned in this forum I could found a lot of 1a marks in the header of the dbf.
What I would like to know is how to repair a dbf if it is broken using an hexadecimal editor?

Which is the 1a mark I have to take into account???

Does anybody experience a broken table and has to repair???
