Ever since I installed Update Rollup 1 for Exchange SP1, OWA is not working.
Exchange MAPI, ActiveSync and Outlookup Anywhere are working fine.

The user can log on to OWA, but they get primitive looking HTML with links
that don't work. In the IIS log, most of the Web parts that normally load
with OWA show up with 404 errors.

Has anyone else seen this? Any idea what may have happened or what to do to
fix it? If I don't get any answers I'll uninstall the rollup, but not for
now. This is only a test server, so I have some time.

Thanks.

Did the update complete successfully? It's not unknown for people to
terminate a seemingly stalled (i.e. been stting there for hours) update,
leaving the supporting IIS directories (the subfolders in C:\Program
Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\8.1.263.0) empty.

Before removing it, maybe you should try reinstalling the update again...
and see if it completes normally...

Well, the update did complete according to the System Event Log. (FYI - I
was shutting the server down for a while, so I let it install at shutdown.)
However, you seem to have hit on the problem - Most, though not all of the
files are simply missing from the needed IIS directories. I'm not sure why I
didn't check that after seeing all the 404 lines in the IIS logs.

I assume that an uninstall/reinstall should fix it.

A reinstall should fix it, but there was one occasion, a few rollups back,
when I had to simply copy all the files from an older version of the
folders. It seemed to work okay, but it depends on what differences there
are in this latest rollup, naturally.

Thanks everyone. I simply installed it again, this time manually. Now all
the content files are there and everything works just fine.

I have to wonder if this had something to do with letting it install at
shutdown. That is an option that probably isn't used much on servers.
