Is It possible to reconstruct an Exchange 2007 mailbox database from just log
files? We have completely lost our drive that hosted the mailbox database
file and we do not have any kind of backup. We do not even have an empty
mailbox database file. BUT we have all the the log files from day one which
are stored on the same drive as the Exchange 2007 installation (system
partition) .
If it is possible, does anybody have a list/sequence of tasks that will
recover my database?

Hopefully thankful..... :-)

One of the fundamental rules is that you can not replay logs from one
database against another. Since you apparently can not recover that
original database, you can not reconstruct that store even if you
create a new blank one.

If this is not the original database, no.

Q: Are your users using Outlook cached mode?

If so, you can collect up the OST files, convert them to PSTs, and import
them with exmerge (or import mailbox cmdlet if at SP1)

I hope you succeded to restore your mailboxes using ost files from user's
Outlook cache mode (if configured).

If yes, you can find more information about Disaster Recovery Strategies on
