I was wondering if anybody can give me some steps to accomplish this.

I have Exchange 2007 and an AS400.

I would like like the AS400 to send email through exchange. When we setup
the AS400 to send through thru Exchange it bounces back and says

HOST AS400 NOT ABLE TO DELIVER MAIL TO FOLLOWING RECIPIENT(S):
<Emailaddress@GMAIL.COM>
MAIL REJECTED BY GMAIL WITH THE MESSAGE:
550 5.7.1 Unable to relay

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ed

A stupid question. How do I do add a new IP address to the exchange server?

Is the adding additional IP address under Advanced TCP/IP settings. Our IP
scheme is 10.10.x.x subnet 255.255.0.0 what should I make an additional one?
Then how should I configure the receive connector?

The problem is not in your sending application being an AS400 system, but in
your Exchange server not allowing SMTP relay for that host. You should add
the AS400's IP address to the list of hosts allowed to relay through
Exchange's SMTP service.

I'm more experienced with Exchange 2003 than 2007, but this should help you:
