    - Organizational Forms I'm using Exchange 2003, SP2 with Outlook 2003. I have two public folders, each designed to show a particular web page with various links. The web page is designed such that when clicked, the links open a form (it appears to be the same form) that is saved in the Organizational Forms. However, for one public folder, when you click on the link, the form comes up with the correct information for the e-mail addresses it is to contain, the other does not. How can I find the source of the CC field's value to change it? I have tried to make the change when I've open the form and then design this form and tried to publish.     - SMTP Submission port (587) question Currently when users outside the office send messages to INTERNAL recipients (via IMAP/POP3) our spam filtering software (GFI) marks them as spam on a SPF check (since the originating IP would be from an IP other than our MX (SFP) record). With the secondary "Submission" SMTP Virtual Server (Port 587) REQUIRING authentication, I can safely turn off spam (and Exchange) filtering so resolve this issue as well as gain some additional benefit for IMAP/POP3 users outside the office in locations that might block port 25. Could also possibly benefit mobile users (IMAP, non ActiveSync) sending as well, no wait, hold please... WM5 can't override the SMTP port, maybe other mobiles can... :D Anyhoo, that's the background, now to the issue.. When messages destined to an external recipient are submitted to the new "submission" VS, I've discovered they cannot be sent unless I put the new submission VS into the "Local Bridgeheads" via Routing Connector, or if I add the IP of the local system to the Access/Relay restrictions of the Default (Port 25) VS. So which way (or another way I'm not aware of) would be most acceptable?? Personally, I'm leaning toward the addition of the VS to the Local Bridgeheads as the SMTP logs get quite "messy" with messages being sent from one VS to another VS. Plus the ESM "Queues" stay cleaner as it appears that when a message is sent between VSs, you get these queue names that I'm guessing are the message ID? Anyhoo, thanks all.     - Meeting Requests accross Time-zones(CST-EST) 2 hours apart When we attempt to send a meeting request from 2 different companies in the same time-zone to a company in the EST zone, meeting get marked 2 hours ahead instead on 1. The "accepted" reply comes back an hour ahead as well. Meetings sent from the EST company appear to schedule appropriatly. We do believe we have patched all clients, OS, and server applications, at each company. Any Ideas? Anyone else run into this when sending out of their time-zone?     - certificate Hello all, I would like to buy a cert to secure my OWA access for my Exchange 2007 Std. server in a single domain. Is there a good how-to guide that someone knows of? Also do I need a SAN certificate? I'm not entirely sure what that is used for.     - Outgoing email slows (stops) internet Iâ??m running out of places to look and narrowed it down (I think) to something not set up correctly in exchange 2000-??-. If I send an email out with an attachment, the internet slows to a crawl on the intranet until the email is finished going out. Sometimes for as long as 1 hr depending on how big the attachment is and how many people it was sent to. My latency jumps up to 1500-1700ms from a normal 20-30ms. Did a speed test at dslreports while it was sending and it goes down to 300/100 from a Downstream: 3552 Upstream: 384 DSL connection. ISP switched out the DSL router yesterday thinking it might be that but didnâ??t help. If I send out an email using Outlook Express using a standard pop account and bypassing exchange, latency only goes up to 200-300ms and the internet is normal. Iâ??m running out of things to try and was wondering if anyone has any ideal of where else to look. Thanks Jason Sorry for the cross post.     - auto reply in public folder. We are funning Exchange 2003 sp2. We have a mail enabled public folder that orders come into. We would like to have an auto reply sent out when an email hits this folder. I realize that Exchange has auto reply's turned off by default to the internet, which is fine, i don't want to turn this on for the company, only this one email address or a couple email addresses. Can this be done using exchange or a plugin/script/thrid party tool for exchange? I have gotten close to figuring it out buy using the moderator folder options. If i select the Reply option and use the standard reply, this works. if I choose a custom reply, it behaves like the rest of the auto replies and never makes it out of the exchange server. Don't know if this is an oversite from exchange or a bug that allows the standard reply to work. Using rules for a public folder doesn't work at all.     - Exchange Advanced Queue Categorizer Hi! I posted this question last week but nobody replied. We have an Ex2K3 SP2 on Wk3 SP2. Last Friday, mails were getting stuck in the Advanced Queue Categorizer and I believe those that got stuck were not delivered to the intended recipients. So we made some e-mail tests from internet. Some came through and soem did not and all these test messages were sent to the same e-mail address. The problem was resolved only after rebooting the Exchange server.What causes the messages to get stuck and not delivered in the categorizer? Is there a way to recover those messages?     - Phantom user in 2007 exchange. Hi there, we have both a Exchange 2003 server and an Exchange 2007 server. Earlier I tried to add the ability for our server(s) to accept e-mail for a second internet domain. during this process I had created a few test users to see whether or not it was working. I have since removed the test users from the domain. My issue is that one of the test users whom does not appear in the Exchange Management Console is still 'around somewhere'. I don't see it at all via the Exchange 2007 mgmt console, but I can still see it using the 2003 System Manager console at: exchange07 -> First storage group -> Mailbox database -> Mailboxes pretty much no matter what I do i cant get exchange07 to 'let go' of that account. the issue is it shows up in our GAL as an Internet E-Mail address that we need to use. So if i send an e-mail to that address the exchange server correctly sends back a NDR saying that the e-mail address is invalid (because it is). How can I remove the phantom mailbox?     - Auto Accept issue Hi I live in Chile. We are using the Santiago time zone, the daylight saving change for Santiago are second Saturday of March and Second Saturday of October. We are having some power problems so our goverment modified this for this year (I think for this year only) so the daylight saving change is the last Saturday of March. We modified the Santiago time zone and distributed it to all our users and servers, Windows 2003 Domain controllers, exchange 2003 servers, etc. We are not having problems for users appoinments. We are using the Auto Accept sink for resource booking. The appoinments looks on time but if a user tries to book an appoinment, the appointment gets to the exchange 1 hour ahead. Can this be related to the CDO DLL? is there any way to fix it? Can I modify the Auto Accept sink in any way so the oppointment get to the exchange in the correct time?     - Applying SP2 to server 2003 breaks pop3 in exchange 2003 Yesterday I noticed the server running Exchange 2003 did not have the correct time. Further investigation showed the server was way behind in updates. I applied SP2 and rebooted. Since then all clients using POP3 cannot receive email off the server. Exchange clients and web outlook clients are not affected, only OE and outlook POP accounts. The error from the client is "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: '10.10.0.7', Server: '10.10.0.7', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F" All support seems to be client side, but as this issue appeared right after I applied SP2 and is universal for all POP3 accounts, it seems obvious this is a server issue.     - Active sync list We have a w2k3 domain and exchange server with sp2. We have active sync enabled for our smartphones. I can access the website to remotely wipe the phones. My question is how do i get a list of all the mobile phones on our network? I tried using a wild card before the domain name on the wipe page but nothing came up. Right now all we can do is to type the individual username and domain one by one to see who has a smartphone. There should be a way to find out all of the users on the server that has a smartphone.     - Can I assign Recepient Update Server to an Exchange 2007 box? We have three domains under the forest. In one of them, we only had a Exchange 2000 server earlier and I brought in the first Exchange 2007 and successfully moved all mailboxes to the 2007 server. Now it's the time to uininstall Exchange 2000 from the old server, but I ran into this problem: - This server is the Recepient Update Server for the domain "xxx.local". You cannot uninstall this server until you select a different Recepient Update Server for this domain. As far as I understand, Exchange 2007 no longer provide this functionality. But I found out from Exchange 2003 System Manager that it is possible to assign the RUS to any Exchange server including 2007. Will that be a work around so I could uninstall Exchange 2003, or there is another procedure to do so? I was referred to this KB earlier: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx, but it isn't really fit pur scanario because this server I am trying to remove is not the last one in the organization, we do have other Exchange 2000 / 2003 server in other two domains.     - SPAM Help... We're being blocked Hi All, I have received several rejection notices from outside email servers utilizing spam filters that we are a known spammer. I am watching my firewall and seeing all mail is coming from my exchange server, so it isn't another PC within the network. I am noticing a huge number of messages from Exchange to messagelabs.com but cannot seem to find them in the queue or other locations. I am seeing in the outgoing message queue messages with 0kb size that have sender unspecified for the sender... I can't seem to figure out how to block these from going out, which may be the problem... I have tested and am not an open relay. This is now bad enough that barracuda and others are blocking us, affecting our business.     - Exchange Server 2007 Edge Role I have installed Exchange 2007 SP1 edge role (Windows 2008 SP1) in our DMZ. I did an edge subscription and it's working properly. I don't have problems sending emails but I have problems when receiving mails. I tried to send an email (with telnet) but the email never arrived to receipient. When I open the connector to deafault-first-site-name, in addresss space I have for smtp address "--" , and I have the same "--" as smart host. Is that correct?     - How do I assign a S/MIME certificate to an external contact in the In the Exchange Global Address List, I have an external vendor person listed as a contact (and they show up in Active Directory as a "Contact"). I would like to assign a S/MIME certificate to the vendor in the GAL, so that each of the employees in our organization don't have to do the normal process before being able to encrypt messages to that external vendor person. The normal process would be requesting the vendor send them each a signed message (which also sends a copy of the certificate) and then have each add the vendor to their personal Outlook contact list (which lets Outlook know to use the certificate for the vendor)). This seems like a lot of unnecessary work - if there were some way to add the certificate globally (e.g. the GAL) then those steps could be skipped.     - Exchange Disaster Recovery Strategy Hello People. Listen, we are searching for an Exchange Disaster Recovery implementation. We don't know which are our options, so that is What I'm here. So we have an exchange Server Cluster which would like to replicate in our second site (Physical site, Non active directory one). We have all the infrastructure ready, for example right now our Exchange cluster is in the site 1, the exchange disk are in a EMC Symetrix Box, this year we are going to do a swing migration to new hardware which also implicate that we will change from the Symetrix to a Clariion 320c. So we are creating a Disaster Recovery plan in our Site 2 for contingency in the company and we want to include Exchange. So in plain English, could you help us find the best solution for this implementation, what things we should have in mind. Extra info "The preface is the first site is destroyed but we would still have our current active directory available which is common to both sites".     - Public Folder database size dilema ! Hi, I have r PF servers : server1 and server2 Server1 was a old server and server2 was recenelt introduced with newly created PF store (e.g. PFstore01). PF mailstore size on Server1 was : 1GB PF mailstore size on Server2 is : 45 MB !! ?? However, when i actually go to ESM and do the no.of items counts and folder sizes, both matches !! How is it possible ? My final plan is to get rid of Server1 but after ensuring that replication is all done. Why is the database size on Server2 so small as compared to Server1 ?     - TLS, Exchange 2003, 2 Virtual Servers. Hi Guys, I'm not sure if this is a bug in exchange but I have the following problem. We have 1 exchange box with 2 virtual servers and 2 routing groups. 1 is TLS enabled, the other is not. We have 1 certificate registered against the TLS enabled VS. All nice and simple. I've set my routing group up with the domain which I want to be registered with as a cost of 1, all other mail goes via the other routing group with a cost of 10. OK... So now for some strange behaviour. If I send mail to my chosen encrypted domain, I get 5.7.0,. Must Issue StartTLS command first. Now, if I remove my certificate from VS2, re-assign it it lets me send whcih gets delivered and then directly after stops working!! Am at an absolute end as to why this works once and then stops!!     - Message store size not decreasing when mail deleted We are seeing something strange when we delete mails in Exchange 2007 and have users empty their deleted items. Our mail store never seems to decrease in size. We are using BackupExec for backups which we do nightly. We don't see more than 12-16 hours of logs in the Exchange directory so I don't think it is that Exchange doesn't see us backing up. Is there a way to force Exchange to dump those old mails. I did read something about them staying for 10 days, however we did a purge more than 10 days ago and the store size didn't decrease.     - Non-Deliverables Within Exchange System Manager, I have setup the Default SMTP Virtual Server to Send a Copy of Non-Deliverable Reports to NDR@mydomain.com. The problem I am having is that it only records messages that are sent in error to *@mydomain.com and not to any other domain e.g *@otherdomain.com.     - Enabling RPC over HTTP.... I have two exchange 2003 servers for two separate domains and both do not work with outlook using RPC over http. The first server is a windows 2003 server with exchange 2003 and all the latest service packs. In the properties it is setup as a RPC-HTTP back-end server and when i am on the internal network it works fine with outlook over tcp/ip but when i go to an external network i cannot connect at all. The other server is a Windows 2003 small business server with exchange 2003 and we can connect to the server internally but not externally. There is no firewall blocking any request.     - Out of Office not working (Outlook 2007, Exchange 2007) When I try and use the out of office feature I get the following error: Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later On searching the internet this it seems this may be because the autodiscover service is failing.     - 2 Mailboxes not working - how to solve? Hi, Our mail server was running REALLY slow the other day. It was due to running out of RAM and the HD being badly fragmented as well as the database. We defragged the database and also the HD and put more ram in and things are running better. However there are two users who simply can not acces their mailbox. This is Exchange 2000 on Win2k. I've tested and simply can not get these accounts to work - it just always prompts for user name and password but even resetting will not work. I can't test with webmail because it is not setup and can't be used. All other accounts are ok. I'm concerned these accounts are possibly corrupt?     - External email routing inhouse for one domain Guys.. I am having an issue with an Exchange 2003 Server... Here is the situation. We have two exchange servers on two different domains in two different locations. Exchange 1 has domain abcd.com.au and exchange 2 has domain abcd.co.nz. ie. Identical start of domain name just different country extensions. I am having an issue when I send an email form exchange 1 to exchange 2. I get an error saying that the recipient cannot be found on Exchange 1 so the email is not leaving the server to go to exchange 2.....     - Sender ID Good evening! I am going to implement Sender ID in a couple of our clients environments. Right now that would be restricted to EXCH2003 SP2.....we do, however, have some seven or eight EXCH2007 environments... Anyway, I have not installed the Hot Fix just yet (905 something or other) so I am aware of that. My question: in the General tab of Message Delivery I need to add the IP Address of the Exchange Server in that environment. So, I add 10.0.0.10, for example. Anything else?     - Message in outbound queue is being sent from disabled account How can I track down the source of an email I find in the queue trying to go out (always to the same destination domain) from an account that is disabled? The only reason the account still exists is because HR wants to be able to retrieve emails that were intended for a former employee.     - Exchange account issues after PDC shutdown. My organization recently went through the process of shutting down an older PDC from a Win2k3 & Exchange 2k3 environments. All roles of the old PDC were migrated to our new main DC with no issues, everything seemed to be fine until a few days ago (mind you we shutdown the old PDC a week ago - it has not been demoted yet). We've now been experiencing random users who can no longer log into e-mail through OWA or Outlook, which is until we do one of two things: add the user specifically to the mail account in the exchange security settings and/ or enable the "associated external account" under the SELF permission set. This issue has not replicated through out our entire user base, and we've not been able see any recognizable pattern with the accounts that have been affected by this behavior. In all we have about 1200 or so AD accounts with mailboxes, thus far about 15 or so have been problematic. Has anyone encountered this issue before, if so what was the issue(s)? I have a feeling it has something to do with the old PDC not being fully demoted although being shutdown currently that may be causing Exchange to think that the users mail GUID is not associated to the users AD account. It only displays a few empty images and title "Loading" at the right side of the browser. I deleted the virtual directories of OWA and used the metabase explorer to delete the DS2MB Key.     - Virtualising Exchnage? Hi there, Just wondering what opinions people have on this. We've got an Exchange server that we host mail for one company for. They have 25 users and are not heavy mailboxes users and are small sizes. They all access from their remote location via pop over the internet. The server is Win2k and it is Exchange 2000. The storage is less than 25gig and unlikely to grow in size or users. We have been thinking about virtualising this Exchange setup on to one of our virtual server hosts. I realise this question is rather hard to answer because most will depend on the virtual server we have which i can't really describe( it is quad core 32gig ram raid10 and hosts about 20 not very intensive serves). I wondered if anyone had virtualised an Exchange setup and what they found? Is it a resource hog - will it have heavy disk usage or heavy network bandwidth etc. Hope someone can offer some advise on this. performed some exercices. I noticed that "IP Allow List" (Anti-spam Tab)
Properties Dialog Box is missing, it didn't appear after double click on "IP
Allow List" nor it exists in Actions list.
I made some search in Google, but without luck.
Maybe someone knows, why it happens?
