    - Enabling macro question can be ignored by mistake We have Macros in our excel worksheets. In Excel 2003 when opening an excel worksheet with VBA code you could set it to ask on opening if the macros should be enabled or not and the question had to be answered before continuing, however with Excel 2007 you are asked but in a much more discreet way in the form of the message bar. If you happen not to see the security question or forget about it you could end up working on an excel worksheet where the macros are not running. Is there anyway to get Excel 2007 to ask the question about enabling macros without the user continuing until the question has been answered?     - Extending formulas/formats with imported tata Hi -- I have a worksheet that includes imported data. Several columns consist of row-specific formulas. How do I get Excel to automatically adjust these columns to account for more or fewer rows whenever I import new data? Example 1: I import a file with 100 rows. I create the formulas on columns outside the imported data and copy these formulas down the 100 rows. The following week, I call up this spreadsheet, and using Data | Import External Data | Edit Text Import, I import a file with 145 rows. The formulas on the first 100 rows recalculate properly. But the final 45 rows don't have formulas at all. How do I get Excel to automatically extend these formulas down the 45 new rows? Example 2: I import a file with 100 rows. I create the formulas on columns outside the imported data and copy these formulas down the 100 rows. The following week, I call up this spreadsheet, and using Data | Import External Data | Edit Text Import, I import a file with 72 rows. The formulas on the 72 rows recalculate properly. Additionally, I have 28 otherwise empty rows with calculated numbers in these columns. The numbers are either 0 or some calculation error (depending on what the formula is doing).     - dynamic macro help I have a list of PDF Manual files in ColumnP in ColumnQ I have VBA project that when the cell is selected it grabs the file name with cell.offset 0 -1 and opens the file in column P. My question is how can have a simple command that would do this to all rows (500) rather then type seperate if statements for each row. Here is the code I am using.     - TextBox - Validate Date on Exit and resume field on TAB Greetings, I have a text box with the default date in ("dd/mm/yyyy") format. The user can then type over this date or leave it alone, and exits the text box by means of the TAB key. Within the exit code all the date validation takes place (See below). If there is a problem the idea is to not allow the user to leave the textbox until it is corrected. The code executes and the error messages are displayed, HOWEVER there is also code which executes when the TAB key is pressed. This code does no validation as is all done within the exit event, the KEYPRESS envent disables the textbox and makes the next form on the field visible. However as when you press the TAB key you are both EXITING and activitaing the KEYPRESS event it executes them both and allows the user to bypasss the validation (change even code below too). You can only EXIT the field using the TAB key as there are no fields to TAB too unless activated within the code. I simply cant think of a logical way out of this, any ideas?     - Vlookup Range1 is the name of the range d3:AA33 in the sheet "chart". This range represent 12 months of the year, for each month TWO colomn the first is for the date and the second has a value (a value for each day of the year). C7 in sheet3 has a date value. in (sheet3) I need to have a formula as follows: take the value for the corresponding date (month and day) in sheet "chart" that has the same date as in C7 and multiply it with value in cell H7 (sheet3) and put the result in cell I7. i.e. if c7 = 26/06/07 , vlookup for that date from sheet "chart" take the value next to it (on the its right in the same line) and multiply it with the value in cell H7 sheet3 and put the result in cel I7.     - freezing rows/columns Having made the switch to Office 2007 last year, I'm having trouble remembering some of the drop down menus and procedures under earlier versions of Excel. A friend want to freeze the first row of a spreadsheet and this seems to be one of those things very simply under 2007 but as I'm unable to remember the various drop down menus etc from 2003 and before, I can't offer her any help.     - Using a macro to edit a macro Short summary: I want to create a macro that will open up the excel vb/macro editor and simply edit existing subs/macros with some fairly sophisticated search and replaces. Note: the macro actions I intend to create are editting existing macros, not worksheet/book interactions. Other Details: I have taken the nessacary steps of: -creating unique break points (commented out sections) to find where to insert the new code snipits -created several refference variables that can be easily replaced in a search and replace (I was thinking about using a promt box or actual worsheet refference cells-- not sure which is best) -future breakpoints to repeat the same sophisticated search and replaces.     - Scheduling Workbook Kind of an awkward situation really. My boss has asked me to set up a worksheet that allows him to "color in" the cells corresponding to the shifts that workers request/will work. I did so by giving him a legend to copy from that has text in each item that matches its designated color. In any case, what I'm hoping to accomplish, is to some how translate these 'x' cells into an actual read out of the time that they will work. In other words, if someone works 12 am - 8 am, he would use place the "color" in those 8 cells, essentially giving just those 8 cells a non-blank value. I want to find a way to show this series of filled in cells in terms of the times those cells correspond to. Sorry about the abstract phrasing of this, but it's really hard to understand without seeing it. Also as a side note, suppose someone works 2 different shifts in one day, is there anyway to skip the gap in time and basically show both different slots of time.     - Defining a numeric system I am trying to get Excel to build a list for me using a special type of alpha-numeric system. I would like to be able to fill in the first 3 cells and then be able to drag it down from the bottom right corner to create a list. Here is the format I am working with... It is similar to hex but it uses all the letters from the alphabet.     - Cleaning blank spaces before and after text in a copy & paste problem If I cut and paste this (see below) from an email body to Excel and do a Text to Columns, I can't remove the blank spaces before and after each of the three columns.     - Excel If Statements - getting over the Excel limit of 7 I am trying to create a conditional statement with 17 IFs. I started needing to do 11 Ifs. I got over the Excel limit of 7 by identifying a cell in the last element of the first string of 4 IFs in which there was a further string with 7 IFs. However I now need to expand this to 17 IFs.     - Changing vertical axis in chart in Excel I have created a chart in exel that is supposed to represent monthly sales throughout the year in various categories. The ranges contain cells with formulae that sometimes need to return blanks. I've done this using "" (two double quotes).     - Excel 2007 Bug? Conditional Formatting My client has the following situation: Sheet1 A1 = 5% A2 = $3.00 A3 = (a list option to determine if they want to use the % or the $) On Sheet2 the formulas use the value of A3 in an if condition to apply either A1 or A2 to calcuations. This all works fine. On Sheet2 they have a cell that simply reports the A1 or A2 value being used in the calculations. The conditional formatting I wrote compares the value in that cell to the original A1/A2 cells and sets the formatting to either currency or % as appropriate. At first blush it seems to work but as I change the selected item in A3 and flip back to the second sheet I see the value in the cell has changed but the formatting has not. If I go in to the Conditional Formatting dialogue, edit nothing, and exit, the formatting is now correct. Pressing F9 has no affect. I can't seem to get Excel to refresh this formatting. Scrolling away and back doesn't work, nor does flipping back and forth between sheets. I've already implemented a VBA work around to this but I would love to get this resolved without having to change the file type to a macro- enabled variety. Thanks in advance.     - Excel 2007 "Cubes" and Bloomberg? Recently saw a demo of using Excel 2007 linked to a "Cube" of data. A "Cube" seems tb some sort of functional analog of a database that a non-DB person can slice and dice more readily than a collection of tables. Excel seemed to have a pretty impressive set of tools for this. First thing that came to my mind was Bloomberg. We're paying big bucks for Bloomberg terminals all over the place where I work. Given that the money's there, seems like BB could market the same data via "Cubes" and users could get to it and manipulate it easier and faster than with Bloomberg API calls in a regular spreadsheet.     - Creating print sections within a worksheet I'd like to have unique headers for parts of a worksheet when I print the data. Is it possible to create sections within a worksheet? Otherwise, if I have each set of unique data in separate tabs, eahc tab having it's unique header text, is there a way to create a pdf that is the combination of several tabs?     - UserForm - Navigating fields when changing visibie property Greetings, This is quite complex to explain but here goes, below is a mock up of my user form:- Label Title <Value> *Populated from result of combo box1 Combo Box 1 <Value select> Text Box <Value = 'Todays date"> *Populated from result of combo box1 Combo Box 2 <Value select> The form is launched and ONLY Combo Box 1 is set to visible (others on intilisation of form have visible set to FALSE) The user selects a value in Combo box 1 and label and text box are populated and Combo box 1 is then set to disabled (ENABLED = FALSE). The user can either change the Date value in the text box or press ENTER/TAB etc.., to leave the text box ... However the code behind Text Box_Exit event sets Combo Box 2 to visible. VBA knows though whilst in the Text Box there is no where else on the form to go, no other control are visible at that point so TAB/ENTER become invalid options as they result in no action?? Other than adding an EXTRA button to validate the text (i.e. User is saying I have finished my edit) can I make the Combo Box 2 appear somehow? Hope this makes sense.     - Scrolling through cells I'm having trouble scrolling through the cells using the arrows. When I was typing in a cell I used to be able to press one of the arrow keys and it would automatically go to the next cell. Now when I press the arrow key is sticks the next cell in as part of a formula. I'm not sure what's happened to change this. I have designed a pivot table that I intended to update each month.
My data table includes a column for the date at the monthly level.
Until this month, it was working fine. As each month passed, I would
simply check off the new month in the drop down menu in the pivot
table.

However, for some reason, when I select November, the table does not
expand one column. Instead, the table stays the same size, but drops
March data (though March remains selected in the drop down).

I've never come across this before. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Is there still March data in the source data table?

Do you have a Top 10 AutoShow filter on the Month field?
To check, right-click on the Month field button, and click Field Settings
Click Advanced, and for Top 10 AutoShow, select Off.
