Entourage crashed for me and it will not start up any more (crashes
when loading)
How do I fix this, do I delet the existing Entourage and try to
re-install it an import my e-mails into the newly installed?

I am extremly desperate to get my mails back so that I can change from
this extrtemly unstable program to something else.

The e-mails are in ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data
The prefs are in ~/Library/Microsoft/

There is a couple of things you shoudl try:
- Use Disk Utility to repair Permissions on your Mac,.
- Make sure the System is fully up to date
- Make sure ENtourage is perfectly up to date.
- if there is nothing you realy need in the prefs, simply trash them to
let the applciation re-create them.

If this still doesn't help, post back here and we'll try other options
:-)

Entourage Crashes at startup: Try holding down the shift key during launch
to prevent startup schedules from firing.

If you still have trouble....

Using "Remove Office" and installing new will not touch your mail. Just be
sure to update after installing. Changes were made to the database and an
older version of Entourage will not be able to recognize your mail.

Remove Office help:

Be sure to check your login items in System Preferences --> Accounts for
multiple Microsoft Database daemons. If there is more than one, delete all
and let Entourage create a new one.

Also try launching with the Shift key held down to disable schedules that
are supposed to run on launch. If that corrects the problem, it means that
there may be a corrupt message being received or sent. Check the Outbox and
delete any stray e-mails. Also, check your e-mail accounts by a web
interface and delete any malformed junk e-mail that Entourage might be
trying to download.

Make sure that your copy of Office is up-to-date.
