 - Entourage 2008 annoying "This Link Might Be a Fraud" popup As noted here http://breakingwindows.com/2008/01/entourage_2008_this_link_might.php It seems whenever you click a link in a mail message, you get this annoying "This Link Might Be a Fraud" popup confirmation.  - Solution question (not a problem) Hi I was wondering if anyone else had a similar need to us with regard to Entourage on Mac - OS X 10.3, 10.4 and (possibly sometime in 2008) 10.5 - and BlackBerry Enterprise Server/MS Exchange 2003. Our BlackBerry phones are used by on the road account managers who share a FileMaker-based database of contacts when in the office. I am looking to enable the AMs to have access to these contacts when out of the office. Being that there are a lot of them I want to make it a searchable function. Having the contacts loaded into everyone's local Contacts is just not feasible for support or speed. Has anyone solved this one or have any suggestions? Regards Craig.  - Entourage cannot send mail with one specific account I run my own mail server (OSX 10.5.1 Server, running Postfix), and Entourage will not send mail through it, saying, "Authentication failed because Entourage doesn't support any of the available authentication methods." It's a simple password authentication. These exact same settings work fine with Mail.app. Entourage first created the account by importing the Mail.app account, and when that didn't work, I deleted it and recreated it by hand in Entourage.  - Entourage prints in large fonts / outlook users receive large fonts All users in my office (other than me -- the sole mac user) use outlook and html messages. I have to use Entourage primarily because the number of appointments I get and I am very happy with it overall. However, sometimes they get the super large font situation when I send emails to them. I changed my preferences so that my emails are always composed as Arial 10 which helps a lot, however, I have heard that if they try to cut and paste the emails they get the large font. Also they tell me that if they view the email on the web using OWA they also see the large font (although not necessarily in outlook). I have also encountered a problem that emails and airline receipts print out very large on printers and I have not been able to adjust that. The only thing I have found in newgroups as a solution to this is using plain text and although I understand the reason for saying that, its not very practical for me with the forced line wrap and types of emails I have to send. Also the typical response I have seen to the font issue is that it is a fault of HTML and not of Entourage, but in my experience, the same emails work fine in Apple mail, so I don't know if HTML can fully be to blame. Finally to my question -- Is it possible to adjust plain text so it wraps rather than start a new line and has anyone else encountered the large font printing problem and found a solution?  - Soft delete in entourage 2008 Hi! In entourage 2004 when a message was deleted ( from mail box/folders/junk mail ) it went to deleted items. Since I have have installed entourage 2008 the items when deleted prompt "permanent delete ?" and there is no coy in deleted items folders !!! Is there a way to have a soft delete option ?  - Formatting address book for Entourage I had a PC with Outlook. I had my address book formatted - first indent was client companies, second indent cities where they had offices, third indent - contacts in the office in that city When I imported the file to my Mac I lost that structure.  - Unable to compact and rebuild database Hi, I have been trying to compact and rebuild my database and when it reaches step 4, the Microsoft Database Utility crashes. My Entourage seems slow when moving from Mail to address book, I thought I could fix it compacting and rebuilding, but I have tried several times and it always crashes asking if I want to send a message to Microsoft.  - Calendar Dates Incorrect Hi All-- I recently upgraded to Mac Office 2008 on OSX Leopard (MacBook Pro 17" - First Edition). Everything went smoothly with the upgrade. However, I've noticed that the default dates for new events in my Calendar are incorrect. Creating a new event defaults to January 5th, 2008; if I click the calendar icon to change the date, the pop-up calendar shows January 1, 1970. Any date I select does not change the event date, which stays at January 5th. I'm connected to and Exchange Server, however, all dates on my machine and the server are correct.  - Sending mail - Error 17895 Hi, 8 out of 10 emails which i sent get a "Error: -17895". When this happens, i go to the Outbox folder, located under "Folder on My Computer", open the message again, press Send and of it goes...  - Calendar view: 30 minutes "blocks" Hi, In Outlook, one can choose to view the calendar items in details of 60, 30, 15, 10, and 5 minutes. You can achieve this by right clicking the ribbon in front of the calendar view and selecting the appropriate view. Entourage Calendar is by default giving the 30 minutes detail.  - Message status across 2 machines hi, I have Entourage 2008 on both my home G5 and my work MacBook and whilst everything seems to sync ok (connecting to Exchange 2003 server) the message status does not seem to be replicated. i.e. if I reply on the G5 the MacBook copy does not show that the message has been replied to.  - All Entourage calendar data and task have vanished I've been having trouble with syncing my Entourage with iCal via dot Mac. Suddenly today it all seemed to start working properly but now all of the data in my Entourage calendar - including vital tasks - have vanished. Needless to say this is disasterous.  - Entourage 2008 and Palm Treo I just upgraded to Office 2008. I loved it until I realized that Microsoft had removed the Entourage conduits in Palm's HotSync software. Now, they claim that the only way to synchronize a Treo is through Apple's iSync. Yes, except that iSync doesn't work with the Treo (it does work with a few Palm devices, but only PDAs, not their smartphones). Apple recommends that you buy Missing Sync from Mark/Space. Nice, but Missing Sync works with Entourage 2004, not 2008. And it costs $40, by the way. I spent some time playing with all of that (I have not purchased Missing Sync yet), and the result is a total mess: the "work" addresses that are in my Address Book on my Mac are totally gone from the Treo but the "home" addresses appear as "work." Let's not talk about the Calendar data or the Notes... You get the picture --a big mess. Now you would think that in the year 2008, one could synchronize a Treo with a Mac using Entourage, as I was able to do in 2005. Apparently not... And if you search Palm's support Web site and enter Entourage 2008 in the search box, you get 0 article. So we are in a situation where Microsoft is basically saying: get a Windows Mobile phone. Then you go to Apple that says: get an iPhone. And Palm? Just playing dumb: We didn't see anything, didn't hear anything, and won't say anything.  - Mail Import from Apple Mail Hi there, I just imported most of my mail from Apple Mail. But not all of it. It imported all of the mail from my inbox but it did not import my sent mail or my trash. How do I get it to do this? Also, in Apple Mail, I have 2 accounts - a gmail account and a yahoo account. When I switch my identity from my gmail identity to my yahoo identity in Entourage, I tell it again to import my mail. I assumed it would import my corresponding yahoo mail from Apple Mail but it doesnt - it starts to import my gmail again. What the heck is up with that? How do I fix these issues? I LOVE my new MacBook but the Apple Mail program's word processing features do not even compare to those of Outlook so I am excited to get started using Entourage.  - Entourage 2008 and Download Pictures in Emails In Entourage 2004, pictures in e-mails were automatically downloaded if the domain was included in "Safe Domains" in "Junk E-mail Protection". I have now upgraded to Entourage 2008 and, even though the Safe Domains transferred over, I now see the yellow bar with the "Download pictures" link in all e-mails with pictures unless the sender is in my Address Book (per the Security Preference setting, which only has Never, From Address Book, or All). As many of these e-mails are newsletters, etc., I don't want them filling up my Address Book. Is anyone aware of a way to have it look into the Safe Domains to see if pictures should be downloaded?  - how to create database? I installed Office 2008 on my mac (running leopard). Every time I open an application, I get an error message that says:  "There is a problem with the office database. Office might be unable to access the database or the database file might be damaged. Without the database, you might be unable to use the Address Book, Scrapbook, and other features that store your personal information. To rebuild the database, open Microsoft Office database utility, etc.... ". When I run the Database utility, there is no available database to update, rebuild, etc. I tried uninstalling the suite and then reinstalling and still have no way to build a new database. Microsoft "help" has tips to create new identities in Entourage, but when I try to open Entourage, I get "Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to fix the problem, rebuild your database".  - entourage 2004 downloading certain messages to local folder I have entourage set up with my university's email exchange server. It works fine except for one small problem. (entourage 2004 + leopard btw) Normally, when I get a new message, it displays on the INBOX of the exchange folder. Very rarely, it downloads the messages to the INBOX on my folders on my computer. I am often unaware of this (no notification), except that it is bolded. This happens very infrequently, but I do not know why it happens. The emails are coming from a mailing list, but again most of the emails from that person using the mailing list , goes to my exchange folder inbox and not local folder inbox, so im not sure its a factor. Any suggestions?? I'm often missing out on important emails because its diverted to my "folder on my computer" and I only check inbox on exchange.  - Address Book help needed I just purchased Entourage and I am having a few issues. 1) Transferring csv address files--I go to import and I cannot match up the categories when I try to import on Entourage--it doesn't let me uncheck "automatic mapping" and the "mapped" and "unmapped" fields do not let me drag and align. Thus the contacts do not line up 2) I cannot figure out how to sort the address book by first name only--it does short alphabetically, but in cludes last name as well.  - search by contact group Hello, I would like to create a custom mail view where if an email is from a person in a contact group, it is filtered to a specific folder. This group is always growing, and I do not want to have to manually add new members to both the contact list AND to the filter, or create a new saved search every time with the entire list, which has 50+ contacts.  - To Do/Task View in Mail The one single feature that would make Entourage 2008 a killer app for me would be the ability to view tasks at the same time as email, you can view tasks while viewing the calendar. The Windows office 2007 task pad does just this, it is an awesome productivity enhancer as most people process email and tasks simulataneously.  - Printing Contacts Having upgraded to the latest version of Entourage, I am now unable to print contacts from the address book. Selecting File=>Print presents the expected dialogs but, after clicking [PRINT], nothing is sent to my HP LaserJet 1320. I consulted Entourage Help (on-line) and followed the flow.  - Entourage crashings I know this topic has had numerous posts but I do not seem to find a proven remedy that may apply to my situation. I am using an i-Mac 24" Intel CoreDuo with MacOSX10.5.1 installed. I use Entourage 2004 as my primary e-mail program. The program crashes 'unexpectedly' about every time I am reading a news article that I select and open from an e-mailed news service alert (NY Times, Morningstar, etc.) Can somebody give me a hint what to do about it? It is such a nuisance. I have repaired permissions, removed and re-installed Entourage from the CD. But nothing seems to have improved the situation. Is there an article out there that I should read?  - Calendar Save I notice that if I create a calendar event and invite people the save button is displayed. But if I create an individual event for myself (a reminder or event), there is no save button so I have to save via keyboard. Specific question is in PC Office when I was replying to a message and I wrote a comment within their message, I could have my initials put at that point and also change the typeface of my comment vs the existing text from the other person.  - Switching Back to MS Win Outlook 2003 #$#!#% I Give up! Attended the Office 2008 training @ MacWorld in San Francisco and Entourage was the shortest session. Yes there have been some enhancements and improvements. But considering the amount of time waiting for this release I was very disappointed with what I saw and heard. It is definitely a step backwards concerning connectivity with devices and Apple applications. I am one of those who switched from Windows to Mac when the Intel MacBook Pros came out. The only problems I had switching were with Outlook to Entourage. It was beyond painful. I spoke with Andy Ruff about this at Macworld. I don't run Exchange. I do use a Palm Treo, I rely on categories and being able to easily and quickly sync my data between my PIM [contacts, calendar, notes, tasks] with my Palm for mobility. I could do if effortlessly with Outlook. I lost a lot of functionality when I went to Entourage and had to use Missing Sync which is not a good program [and I refuse to pay for an upgrade that is essentially a broken beta from Mark Space which Microsoft should be aware] There is no good solution on the Mac and I think that is how Microsoft wants it. They make it difficult to switch to Entourage if you're not using Exchange and they've killed what little tools were out there making the program usable for mobile users. Now I have to figure out how to move back all my contacts and data to Outlook on Windows and run it under VM Fusion. At least there I can run Dataviz's Beyond Contacts for flawless syncs of data and categories until I can find a replacement E-Mail/Calendaring program because I just don't see Microsoft getting this right for the user community. So anyone gone this route and moved their Entourage data back to Outlook 2003 on Windows? Any suggestions on how I can do this with the least pain and data loss? Does anyone know a way to sync exchange contacts with a local addressbook so my users have an up to date address book on their computer while they are offline? A one way sync would be fine, two way ideal. Or am I missing something?  - Microsoft Ofiice X - Startup Failure on Mac Pro running Leopard On starting up my mac pro this morning, Entourage failed to start up, stalling at the product license panel that pops up just before launching the application fully. I found the same problem occurs with all the other applications in Office X (Word, Powerpoint and Excel). I uninstalled and re-loaded Office X and the fault continues. I upgraded to Leopard when it was launched so do not think this is the problem.  - questions about re-installing 2004 on re-formatted drive This post applies strictly to MS Office 2004; I have not bought 2008 (yet?). iMac 1.6GHz G5 PPC, 250GB Firewire drive with full backup of iMac drive. I need to do an erase & install of Leopard (in hopes of solving system-wide printing issues that occurred after archive & install). I found some instructions for re-installing Office on the Entourage Help page and just want to make sure I understand completely. Numbered instructions are from ?Move or Transfer from Another Computer?, which I would think is the functional equivalent of transferring from a backup drive to a freshly wiped boot drive. 1. Install Office and update [important] Can I use the drag install method? I don?t know why I would want to go through any setup assistant. Update by using the MS Autoupdate app? (2. Copy over the entire Microsoft User Data folder before opening Entourage. Put the MUD folder in your User's Document folder. Understood -- I know where the MUD folder goes.) 3. For preference files to copy over see Location of Microsoft Files to Backup There?s no *data* in prefs files, right? Accounts, Categories, rules are all in the MUD folder, right? There doesn?t seem to be anything in Entourage preferences that I couldn?t recreate rather easily, no customization in Word or Excel I care about saving, so I?d rather just have fresh prefs. Does that seem sensible? (4. Restart and run Repair Permissions after running updater. Understood.) So at this point I have not yet opened any MS apps. As soon as I do, tho, it?s going to dump a bunch of fonts somewhere, some of which have newer versions included with Leopard. What should I do about this? That is, when Font Book shows duplicates, Can I disable the MS versions since Leopard is already using its own versions?  - Display two time zones in Calendar view? This is one thing I loved about Outlook - the ability to show two time zone scales on the left so I could easily check what time an appointment was with overseas colleagues. Basically it is just another scale along the vertical axis. Is there a reason Entourage omits this? It seems really easy to do - or am I just missing it? Thanks!  - Entourage calendar problem My calendar events are not showing up for the month of March in the month view- although they appear in the week view and day views.  - Print Calendar Weekly View Just got Office: Mac 2008. When I try to print my Calendar in Weekly View, each item is preceded by Date and Time, instead of just time (as it used to be). And the Date takes up so many characters it doesn't even totally show on the page. For instance, under Thursday I see: Thu, 01 ... Thu, 01 ... I have about 20 tasks on my exchange server that never are seen in tasks section of office 2008 entourage? 
 
outlook on my windows machine has no problem retrieving them and keeping them in sync. Why cant I view them with entourage?

Entourage does not sync tasks to and from Exchange. If you desire this
feature, please send feedback to Microsoft.

That's because tasks unfortunately don;t sync between Entoruage and
Exchange,
