 - Multiple Recipients to Delete folder Hi All, I'm having a serious problem with my entourage. When emails with as little as 3 or 4 recipients are received, they immediately go to the Delete Folder.  - Backing up entourage data Hi everyone, Up to this point I used to retrieve all my emails on my iMac with entourage. I plan to now use my MacBook to download my mail with entourage but want to keep copies of the emails on my iMac also. Apparently all my mail is stored in a folder called Microsoft User Data - this folder also containing other folders including two called Office 2004 Identities and Office X Identities. Can someone tell me if either of these two folders, ie., Office 2004 Identities or Office X Identities, contain my backed up emails that I can transfer from my MacBook to my iMac from time to time?  - How keep database small but keep all mail? Hi - I'm having more and more problems with a corrupt database in my Office 2004 - I think stemming from Entourage. I must keep all my mail, including all sent mail, since I use and search all incoming and previously sent mail frequently. My Microsoft User Data file is 4.64 GB. I have a Powerbook G4. Is there a way to keep things running smoothly, so that I don't have to rebuild the thing every month or so (this has happened the past few months) - or apply some kind of rule or something that automatically "files" things in the correct place - without losing any mails? If I create a new identity for all sent mail, for example, won't that be part of the same database and thus still cause problems? Or if I move all sent mail to Mac's own Mail program, that might help keep the Entourage database smaller, but I will have to manually move things, won't I?  - Update erases all settings and inbox My girlfriend asked me to fix her inbox and what I've found is that after she updated entourage her two email accounts and all of her inbox and other folder contents are gone. It appears to be a totally clean install, and I can find no traces of the previous files on her computer... I'm not real familiar with macs, so I could be missing something big... She says this has happened before. Both times she opened entourage and it said there were updates available and she said install now, so it did, and now her messages are all gone. I looked in the documents/microsoft user data/office 2004 identities/main identities folder and it seemed clean and new... No other identities are available.  - Entourage not syncing with address book and ical I have Entourage v11.3.3 and iCal v2.05. I've turned on sync services in the preferences menu for the address book and calener in Entourage and selected to replace sync services with Entourage items. I want iCal and address book to use my Entourage data so I can sync with my iPhone. However none of my data is making it's way to either address book or ical. In iCal, I even have an "Entourage" calendar created and it says it was automatically created by Entourage. It's checked but no events show up.  - Display Name question in Entourage 2004 Does Entourage 2004 have a place to enter a Display Name? This field, available on Outlook Web Access (for each contact) and in Outlook, would be very useful to update from the Mac client side. It would come in most handy if you sent email from OWA and then viewed the sent item later in Entourage. If there is no Display Name filled in, it simply shows the email address.  - Entourage smtp authentication problem I am running Entourage 10.1.6 on my MacBook Pro (OS 10.4.10) and am having problems sending out email. My ISP has just changed our SMTP settings to: Using SSL Over-riding defaut SMTP port: 465 Using authentication with my username and password. The problem is that when I first send an email, all works well. but If I want to send a second email, I get the following Entourage error message: Error: Mail cannot be sent using this account... Explanation: Security failure. Data decryption error. Help. It is obviously such a pain to constantly restart entourage everytime I want to send email.  - Deleting sequence in Entourage Silly question, but when you delete a message in Entourage and you have the messages sorted by Newest on top, the highlighted message jumps up (newer) rather than down (older).  - Comcast Newsgroups Has anyone successfully logged onto Comcast newgroups using Entourage? Nothing I try seems to work. Entourage 2004 11.3.6 OS 10.4.10 Using the server settings found here: http://www.comcast.net/newsgroups/> When trying to connect, server appears to be downloading the list of newsgroups, but then give the following error: "The server for account "Comcast News Server" returned the error "Access Denied via @comcast.net auth server." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering youe password?" User name and password are correct. It works in Outlook Express on the PC, but not in Entourage. Site says they don't support anything other than Outlook Express, so I suspect it's a lost cause.  - Incorrect user name shows with correct email address Hello all, I have tried via "Help" and anything else I could think of short of removing the Entourage app and/or the Office app to correct this but to no avail. Office 2004 Test Drive HEM always appears before any email I send. Before anyone opens my emails all they see as the sender is a portion of Office Test Drive. Therefore most emails are ignored. Sometimes the headers from Excel (in tab-delimited text) appear in the mapping window, sometimes not. More often they don't.  - Setting default Reply To address, and default color My friend uses Entourage 2004 (latest rev) with 3 email addresses, all set up correctly. However, she wants to always *reply* from only her default email address. Is there a way to set it up so that, regardless of which address a message comes in on, all replies always get sent out from the default address? I get how to make the default address, I just don't remember if Entourage is capable of auto-changing to the default on all replies, regardless of which address the original message was sent to. Second question: same friend asked me if there was a way to set up a default color font for all new and reply-to emails. I think the only way is is through a trick, to set up a few empty spaces above the default signature, making sure those empty spaces are "colored." But is there another method?  - delivery failure notification not received Hi, I am having a problem with entourage 2004 on a OSX.4 mac: I do not receive the delivery failure notifications. I know that is doesn't come frome my ISP or mail account, as I receive the notifications on my old mac who is configured for the same mail address. Furthermore, I checked the spam folder, and they do not appear there neither. I am not using any specific spam program, and as substitution I am using the receipt option that I perfectly receive.  - Entourage, Logged In to IMAP, Can See I Have New Messages, But Wont Download, "Connection to Server Failed or was Dropped" Hope someone can help Randomly, my IMAP account in Entourage stopped working. I click "receive all" and the inbox shows the amount of new emails waiting for me. So obviously the account is connecting to the server. However, when it goes to actually begin downloading the messages, Error -3235 pops up, "Connection to the Server failed or was dropped". I am able to OCCASIONALLY send emails.  - Inbox problem When deleting a message, the next message does not open. Other messages in other mail boxes do so. Yes, preferences are set to open the next message when deleting.  - Wrong time... Hi! Entourage 2004 11.3.6 MacBook Pro MacOS 10.4.10 Since I first installed Entourage on my machine I've had trouble with the times it displays in the lists of e-mails (received, sent, etc.) it always displays the time with PM, it does'nt matter if the message arrived in the morning the hour is displyed with the PM attached, always. Also when in Calendar I try to define the workday times (in Preferences/General/Calendar) it also has the hours with PM attached if I try to modify the PM directly it doesn't let me so I end with a workday that goes from 8:00 PM to 6:00 PM! It's a little detail but its driving me crazy! I've already tried to rebuild the database, reinstalled office, and also alter the mac's system preferences using a 12 hour day and a 24 hour day, but nothing seems to work, I downloaded and installed the last upgrade (11.3.6) but it doesn't solve the problem.  - missing inbox messages We have an individual that her email goes missing after a few days. They're not being hidden via a view menu. They're just gone. The messages disappear after a few days, they don't end up in a bulk folder or deleted items folder either. I've already run the database repair twice and also run the permissions fix twice. The account and profile was removed and setup again and still has the same issue. I've checked the exchange box here onsite and the inbox messages are indeed gone.  - Copy/Paste picture Issue and Fix I have been experiencing an annoying problem and I was not sure if the problem was with Entourage 11.3.6, Mac OSX 10.4.10 or me. I do a lot of copy and pasting from web pages etc to email. My preferred technique is the old Mac OSX keystroke technique to hold down (Cmd-Shift-4), drag over desired area, then paste it into Entourage. This works some of the time; however, sometimes when I try to paste the clip Entourage does nothing but flash the Edit menu or paste in the previously selected clip. This has been very annoying. I thought the problem was the clipboard was not being properly cleared so thanks to one of the MVP's I have added an AppleScript a few months ago to my Entourage menu bar to Clear the Clipboard. FYI, he script is: tell application "System Events" to set the clipboard to "" The script solves the problem where that previously selected clip was being pasted; however, I was still having problems getting a newly selected clip to paste into Entourage. After a few failed attempts I would give up on the keystroke technique and resort to the SnapNDrag application. The SnapNDrag, as well as several other 3rd party applications, work correct. While preparing this message I just happened to check at http://www.danrodney.com/mac/index.html and may have found the problem. It was me! The keystroke to copy the screenshot to the clipboard instead of making a file is to use Cmd-Shift-Control-4. I just tried it and it works great. I probably knew about the Control key thing but forgot and hope this reminder to use Cmd-Shift-Control-4 helps someone else having the same problem.  - E2004: Can it use SSL3.0/128-bit encryption? Hello, A recent change to our Exchange server has rendered Entourage unable to connect from outside of our domain. I now get a "bad username/password" message when I try to connect from my Mac from home. OWA in Firefox and Safari is still working. The change that was made by our Exchange admin (at the behest of the men in dark suits) was to... SSL 2.0 has been disabled 128 Bit SSL encryption is required I am told that the certificate we use should be happy in the "128-bit" scenario, so could it be that SSL 2.0 is all that Entourage can work with?  - Wrong date and time when making an appointment When I make a new calendar event by clicking in one of the calendar views I get the correct date and time when in day and week views by totally wrong when doin the same in the months view. The date showing up is exactly 2 years behind + 5 weeks and 3 days. It doesnt matter what date I pick it's always exactly that offset. The time is always 21.56 (9.56 pm) regardless of the time I make the event. I'm running Office 2004 (ver 11.3.6) on a MacBook with OS X 10.4.10. I'm connected to a Exchange server.  - Wrong time... Hi! Entourage 2004 11.3.6 MacBook Pro MacOS 10.4.10 Since I first installed Entourage on my machine I've had trouble with the times it displays in the lists of e-mails (received, sent, etc.) it always displays the time with PM, it does'nt matter if the message arrived in the morning the hour is displyed with the PM attached, always. Also when in Calendar I try to define the workday times (in Preferences/General/Calendar) it also has the hours with PM attached if I try to modify the PM directly it doesn't let me so I end with a workday that goes from 8:00 PM to 6:00 PM! It's a little detail but its driving me crazy! I've already tried to rebuild the database, reinstalled office, and also alter the mac's system preferences using a 12 hour day and a 24 hour day, but nothing seems to work, I downloaded and installed the last upgrade (11.3.6) but it doesn't solve the problem.  - Entourage 2004 10.3.6 - Error (-8738) - anyone solve it? Hello- I tried to send an email with an attachment out of Entourage and it crashed. repeated attempts at sending the same email kept producing this dialog box in Entourage with multiple send attempts: "The action could not be completed. An unknown error (-8738) occurred." Ultimately, Entourage crashed. I just updated Entourage to 10.3.6 and just rebuilt the database in an effort to solve this, but the problem persists.  - Can't import address book from Outlook to Entourage Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with someone's Entourage address book. He had exported his Outlook Contacts as a .csv text file and when he first tried to import it into Entourage there appeared a lot of blank contacts as well as contacts with a lot of missing or incorrect information (a zip code is given in a phone number field, last names are missing, someone's contact information was under someone else's name, etc). I'm working on limited information from him and am getting pressured to come up with a solution fast. I suspect it has to do with the .csv file, only because he's been using it as his address book for the time being and is adding to it as he makes new contacts. Would I be wasting my time just copying the information to a new excel document and re-saving it? There also seems to be a lot of extra fields. I've tried saving it as a tab-delimited text file and the same result happens. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, more by me than him. I am attempting to use entourage with my yahoo account. I have
managed to get the email files to transfer over, but am not having any
luck with my calendar or contact list.
So... is there a way to transfer my contact and calendar information
from my yahoo mail account to entourage, and can you make them sync
back and forth, because right now, the email is just emptying my yahoo
box, rather than being accessible from both venues.

I don't use Yahoo so can't speak from experience. On the Entourage Help Page
the answer for syncing is this:

There are unofficial options, but you risk angering Yahoo!.

For an example of one, see <http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/>. A Google
search may find others.

I suggest you go to the Yahoo site and check out their directions to see
what options are available to use with Entourage.
