using entourage and gmail

Version: Older version
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)
Processor: Power PC

I have version 10.1.4 of the Entourage, and i am trying to set it up to use my gmail account. It sort works, i can send mail, and it doesn't always work, from Entourage, but when I respond to that mail, it only shows up in my gmail account, never goes to Entourage????

"When I respond", you say...from gmail, or from Entourage? If you are
responding from Gmail, you'll need to cc yourself to get your reply to
show up in Entourage. When you download from Gmail you only get incoming
messages, not outgoing ones.

Sorry, i didn't explain that right, I have a Yahoo mail, that I am sending mail to as a test, from my entourage. I am using gmail as the POP, and the Yahoo mail recieves it fine. But when i reply to the entourage mail (wich is actually a Gmail), from the yahoo mail, it doesn't go to entourage, just gmail. I think i explained better that time

I'm sorry but you aren't spelling this out clearly at all. I use Gmail
in IMAP mode on Ent08 and it works perfectly. I have two other IMAP
accounts and they work perfectly. Under the advanced options in Tools
accounts, make sure you enable an outgoing mail box for Gmail. I can't
answer this any better due to your description of the problem.

The one other thing, Gmail in the settings section has absolutely
wonderful step by step setup instructions. Follow this. I don't think
you'll have a problem.

explained it better the second time. I am using gmail as the IMAP, for the Entourage, and I think my entourage is 04. Yes I have used all the correct settings that Gmail tells me to use in the set up feature. Thats where my problem is, I am not recieving mail into the entourage, but i can send it just fine.

Look under About Entourage in the Menu bar. Options to check:

It's possible that 2001 does not handle Gmail IMAP.
