 - Entourage Calendar Issues I click on the Calendar once, it works fine...everything else works fine too within Entourage. But when I go to the Calendar a 2nd time, the program freezes up on me. I Force Quit and then open the program again...it doesn't get past the start up screen. Does anyone have a suggestion? I have checked the dbase...says it's fine.  - OWA forwarded email appears blank using Entourage 11.2.3 Hello. I believe I have a new issue. My environment. Exchange 2003 sp2 Entourage 11.2.3 Outlook 2003 sp2 Also, we just applied this Exchange fix http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=911829 on our Exchange servers over the weekend. Here is the list of events that produces the issue. 1. Outlook 2003 user sends a new email with link to a website. 2. OWA user opens email and forwards email to Entourage user. 3. Entourage user opens email but message body is blank. Check source of email and links appear in source. I verified the issue by testing with a new email message also.  - Entourage Overwrote Main Identity Hello - Let me start by saying I know I should have renamed my main indentity! I can't believe I didn't. I was using Entourage 2004 on a Powerbook Mac running OS X 10.4.6. In the middle of witing an email, Entourage came up with a "Your Database is Corrupt" error. I had to force quit and restart in an effort to rebuild the database. When I restarted, my Main Identity was 18.1 M and all my data was gone. I have run Disk Utility and Disk Warrior with no success. I have used the Apple F find command to find both visible and invisible files named Main, Microsoft and Database to no avail. Does anyone have any other suggestions for finding this missing data?  - Problem viewing other user's calendars in Entourage 2004 I'm a Mac newbie, and we recently set up a workstation with Mac OS X. The user needs to be able to view other user's calendars, but (in Entourage), when we click File, the "Open Other User's Folder" option is not in the list (as it is on other Macs we have running entourage).  - Outlook 2003 / Entourage 2004 / Treo 600 Sync I am new to this forum, so please forgive me if this topic has been discussed before (I was not able to find anything on this - so I wrote). I recently started a new job at which the entire office is using Mac computers (I have been a PC user for the last 11 years). I rely extensively on the use of a Treo 600 and to this point Office 2003. My new work computer features Entourage 2004. I would like to know if there is any technology or application available that would allow me to keep the majority of my Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Notes synchronized between the 3 different operating platforms (essentially, i would like to try and use the Treo 600 to keep the majority of my information sync'd between Outlook 2003 and Entourage 2004.)  - Automating Saving Emails as Text Hello, I have a huge folder of mail that I would like to archive as text files, then import into a database I have that can parse out the emails, subject, and body the way I need it. The problem is, I currently have to go to each message, one by one, and save them as text. Does anybody know of an easy way to automate these steps? I've looked in AppleScript and Automator and can't seem to find anything. I have a strong programming background and it seems like it would be easy to set up a looping script or something.  - Sync Alert: Entourage would like to sync Calendars with iCal and other applications I think the new Sync services of Entourage 2004 are great! However, every time iSync runs I get the following message. I would like to be able to disable this so Sync can complete without human interaction. The main purpose for my syncing is to get events from Entourage to my mobile phone (Sony Ericsson K750i). Is there a setting I have missed or set incorrectly? It seems that iSync wants to sync iCal calendars to the phone which are synced from Entourage, but I wonder if there is a way of skipping iCal altogether as I don't use it, but perhaps this is a different issue?? "Sync Alert [HEADER] Entourage would like to sync Calendars with iCal and other applications. Calendars from iCal, .Mac, iSync, iPod and K750i will be merged with calendars from Entourage. [TICK-BOX] Delete all calendars from Entourage before syncing. [OPTION: 'Don't Allow'] [OPTION: 'ALLOW']" I have tried deleting all the calendars from Entourage using the tick box, but this alert still comes up every time iSync runs.  - Error 111 sending mail Hello, I have a bunch of users try to connect secure SMTP to my Exchange 2003 environment to send email. The clients are all Entourage 2004 version 11.2.3 (060209). The Exchange 2003 environment is configured as follows: Backend servers: Exchange 2003 Ent. SP2 Clustered Front End: Exchange 2003 Std. SP2. 2 FE server DNS round robin load balanced Cert install in FE's from Verisign The users are getting "-111 The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic" after about three minutes of waiting. When I look at the current connections in ESM at the protocols, SMTP, current connections I see the connection attempt. The wierd thing, to me, is I only see the IP address, no username. When I look in the event logs I see no entries of any type either. I know the SSL configuration works, since all my Outlook 2003 connections work fine.  - Oracle Calendar Apologies if this has come up before. Does anyone know if there is a reliable way of syncing Entourage with Oracle Calendar without going round in circles? I used to do it via the Palm, but the Palm Oracle conduits seem not to work in Tiger (I believe new clients are on the way from Oracle). My users (who don't have Palms) are required to use OC but prefer to work in Entourage. MS offer an OC plugin for Outlook on the PC, but I doubt there's much call for an Entourage one - unless someone knows different. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.  - Cannot view HTML messages I have 3 Mac clients using OS X and Office 2004 that have all suddenly started experiencing the same problem. When opening HTML format messages using Entourage, the body of the message appears to be blank. If they open the same messages using Outlook or Outlook Web Access, the messages appear normally. We have checked the 'display complex HTML' settings, and they are turned on. The Office Update has been run on the client side, and the mail server (Exchange 2003 SP2) is fully patched.  - Default Window Locations One of the things (a minor one) that is an annoyance for me in Entourage, is that the email, notes, etc. windows will always default to the same size, same screen location (upper left corner, against the mac menu bar of the desktop). Many other apps. for Mac can be controlled for desktop placement and window size as a default when opening up a new document. Is there any 'hack' or preference to control this or to get Entourage to remember window size and location? Thank you in advance.  - Importing information from Netscape to Entourage I am trying to import my Netscape Communicator 7.2 Folder (contacts and messages/folders) into Entourageand finding it a huge hassle. Let's start with the address book. I save the Netscape file as comma and/or tab delineated and the names and addresses can only come in as 'notes', not in the correct fields. They show up as unmapped and i cannot drag them to the Entourage mapped fields during import. The Entourage import option is only 'automatic'.  - Font Appearance I was aware of messages received recently that the fonts were not the same as that were. I sent myself a test message with different fonts. It showed with the font that I set in Entourage. Meanwhile, I received the same message with Apple Mail. It showed as it was from. All fonts were showed. Is there something wrong with my Entourage?  - Need Script Help: Get Recipient Name I need to get the name of the recipient to a message that is in my inbox. This code produces and error. I was able to get the sender in a similar way, but can't do it with the recipients. My guess is that that is because the recipents are a collection.  - No Bluetooth Syncing since update to Tiger 10.4.6 For months I had no problem syncing my treo 650 with entourage 11.2.3 via Bluetooth.  - Temporarily Freezes while hard disk "races" for 5 - 10 minutes I have a very strange problem. About once or twice a day, entourage 2004 v.11.2.3 freezes for 5 - 8 minutes during which time the hard disk sounds like it is searching, finding, updating, "racing", etc. After 5- 10 minutes, the hard disk stops "racing" and entourage un-freezes and works properly. I want to automatically create a task whenever a message is received from a specific account. I also want to assign a specific category to the task. I want this to be invisible to the user.  - Editing Multiple Contacts Causes Data Loss - STILL I cannot be the only person who experiences this problem but I cannot find anything through Google or the Microsoft KB. When I edit a contact in Entourage and then click on the down arrow to go to another, after editing that second contact, there is a good chance that some of the data from contact one will replace data in contact two at the moment I hit "save". This means I cannot cmnd-Z it back to how it was, because it has been saved. So, data gets lost. Example: contact one is John Brown, and I have edited his phone number, and deleted one of the many duplicates of emails that I seem to get now. I have home and work addresses for him. I save, hit the down arrow. I skip over Jane Doe, the next on the list, as nothing needs to be edited. I reach Tom Smith, whose phone number also needs to be edited. I edit, and click save. As I hit save, there is a high probability that one "page" of Tom Smith's details (i.e. one tab of information, such as all the home address details or all the work address details) will be replaced by details from John Brown, the last contact to be edited. It does not have to be from a field that I have been working on, and usually I have not copied the data that is being "pasted." I used to notice this frequently with Notes fields prior to Sync Services being active - it was always the notes that got replaced. But recently - and worryingly - it can be any set of fields - even his name. I do not know whether Sync Services is to blame per se, or whether the fact that I need to make edits more now causes this to happen more frequently. The unintended consequence of Sync Services is that the Apple Address Book, which was my backup, gets changed at the same time. I think this has always happened with Entourage but I notice it much more since getting a BlackBerry and even more since Sync Services was enabled, which causes both automatic and irreversible updates, and a frequency of duplication such that editing is more necessary. This does not happen 100% of the time, but it is certainly more than 50%. As my contacts keep getting messed up somewhere in the sync hell of .Mac, BlackBerry (which gets synced at work to Outlook too), and Sync Services I am now trying to get to a "clean" Entourage database that I will maintain elsewhere, and not sync. But in the meantime I am editing one contact, saving, quitting, and reopening as the only practical workaround (I could just do it in reverse and use Address Book but the fields are just different enough to be annoying). This will be immensely time consuming. Has this been reported before, Mac BU? I love you guys but this causes actual data loss with great frequency. What's really bad is that I can see reviewing contacts that there are occasions in the past where fields have been replaced and I haven't noticed.  - Need Script Help: Move Current Message to Archive Folder I want to move the current message (the one the cursor has highlighted) to my Archive folder. I found a script on MacScripter by Jerry Krinock that gets me part way there. However, his script moves all the messages in a folder to another folder. I just want to move one message--the one highlighted. Can someone provide a code snippet. It would also be cool if this has some simple error checking.  - Need Script Help: Assign Category to Task Using an Apple script, I want to be able to programatically assign a category to a task. For example, I want the user to be looking at the Tasks view, highlight a task with the cursor, press a key combination and toggle a category on or off.  - Entourage preferences For some reason, Entourage 2004 no longer saves my settings default settings. When I launch Entourage, I would like to View Folders along with message and the preview box. However, it only brings up the messages and preview frame. I always have to manually check View|Folder List. It used to be otherwise. I tried removing the plist files and rebuilding them but that didn't work. I also reinstalled the latest version of Entourage (11.2.3.) Nothing helps. I am running Tiger. This is on my office Mac, but my files are stored on the local disk. Oddly, I have no such problem on my PowerBook (with the same version of OS X.)  - Weekly email message always crashes Entourage I receive a weekly email message that always crashes Entourage. Either selecting the message so that it attempts to load into the preview pane or double-clicking it to open it in a new window results in a spinning beachball that doesn't recover (have to force-quit Entourage). (I get the message forwarded to me as part of a work-related group email list, so that's why I continue to receive it each week despite the problems. I turn off the preview pane and delete the message without loading it as a work-around.) Is there any Microsoft email address to use to submit this message to them?  - E-mail Not Sending My Entourage is saying it can not connect to the server about 50% of the time and thus not sending e-mail. Mail will sit in Inbox for unknown amount of time, then be sent inexplicably. All settings are accurate as per my DSL company and all other on-line programs (Safari, AOL, iTunes) work properly.  - Two (2) SBS 2003, Entourage 2004 & Open Other User's Folder... Folks, Here's my situation. I'm running two (2) Small Business Server 2003 systems (latest patches) with Exchange 2003 SP2 (also running latest patches). Two (2) separate Windows domains (domain1, domain2). I have users on both systems and they want to be able to view each other's calendars via the "Open Other User's Folder..." File menu option. These users are running Entourage 2004 (latest updates, 11.2.3). When I select the "Sharing" properties on calendar in Entourage in domain1, click "Add User...," click "Advanced...," enter "domain2" in the Domain field and the user's account id in the Account ID field and click Ok I get this error: "Entourage cannot modify permissions on the Exchange Server. There was an error while attempting to modify permissions on the server." Any ideas? I'm thinking it has to do with restrictions in Small Business Server but I can't find anything to back me up on that. Also, the SBS isn't showing me any logs of the Entourage client trying to make changes on the server. Any suggestions would be quite helpful.  - Data Retrieval - Entourage 2001 message file Hello I opened Entourage 2001 on an eMac (system 9 working as Classic within system X), and was missing all my old e-mails (ie the old identity was effectively out of commission). We tried a rebuild of the Database but this did not restore my messages. We tried importing the Data into Office 2004 and we still could not access the older e-mails. It seems the database file which forms the message 'structure' has been damaged. The message file is intact (900mb) but we can't find a way of retrieving this data which is a disaster!!! Anyway with experience of this problem would be most appreciated. I can't believe retrieval of a message file (hopefully undamaged) is an unusual problem?  - Importing from Now Contact- please help! Hello- I am trying to import contacts from now contact to my entourage account. It gives me an error message that says: :file Now Contact cannot be found" A trial version of Now Contact is installed- and I opened the program before trying to import as suggested entourage help- although they assured me that a trial version should work as the standard software!  - Recurring e-mail invitations? I would like to send out a reminder by e-mail every month a week before a recurring meeting.  - Migrating Entourage 2004 data from a dead powerbook g4 to a new one. My powerbook G4 went dead. Applecare told me that I could salvage my data by connecting my mac to another mac via a 6pin to 6pin firewire. I did this and the other mac recognized mine as an external drive source. I migrated all of my data onto the new mac in preparation of doing an erase and install on my dead powerbook. Does anyone know WHERE the my Entourage files are kept?  - Task syncing I've just discovered an issue when I sync Entourage to my Treo 650. Basically what happens is the sync resets any recurring tasks... Example... If I set a task for weekly on Monday, wed, and Fri, with no end date, the sync will reset the task to daily, with an in date of "after 10" occurences. I go to Edit, Find and type in the name of a contact and it finds NOTHING.....very frustrating since I use this feature probably 50 times a day. All of my data is in Entourage and I have to access it frequently. I can look at the Contacts list in alphabetical order and find the contact that way, but that is very time consuming. Can anyone help? I'm using Mac OS 10.4.6. Also, I don't know why Microsoft didn't include an envelope printing feature in Entourage. It seems that there are numerous postings regarding the issue of the
Entourage calendar recording events one hour off from the time entered
due to the message that the event and computer time zones do not match
despite the computer's, Entourage's and the specific event's time zones
all having the same setting. Yet, I can not seem to find anything on
the group about how to solve this problem. Anyone out there with a
solution? Microsoft maybe?

I don't have a solution, just an observation.

This issue just came to my attention today (and I don't THINK I would
have missed the yellow banner if it had been showing up before this.)

In my troubleshooting I noticed that it only appears on my Intel Mini
running 10.4.6, whereas my G4 iMac running 10.3.9 looks fine. Both
machines are running Entourage 11.2.3. (In fact I configured the Mini
using Apple's New Mac setup tool so I know it's the same.) The only
other Entourage-user in my department is also running Tiger and also
has the error message.

Don't know if that will help anyone narrow this down....
