    - Connecting to Exchange - folder tree limit? All, I'm connecting to an Exchange 2000 server. Everything seems to be fine until I try to go 3 levels deep in the folder hierarchy. Then Entourage can't find and messages or subfolders. It's very strange. When I try to get the folder properties, Entourage tells me it can't connect to the server, even though I know perfectly well it's connected and downloading mail properly. Anyone? Thanks!     - Shared Calendar invitations lack "accept/decline" options Hi everyone. We have a mixed PC/Mac environment using Outlook/ Entourage. We're seeing strange behavior with the shared calendar; If the Entourage user creates and event on the shared calendar, PC/ Outlook users receive the invitation and have the option to accept/ decline, but the Entourage user receives the invitation without any option to accept or decline the meeting. If the PC user creates a meeting in the shared calendar with the Entourage user as an invitee, the invitation sent to the Entourage user DOES have the option to accept/decline. The other twist in all of this is we also have Blackberry enterprise server integration (BES), and the invitation to the Entourage user that did not have accept/decline option in fact appear on the blackberry calendar. After we saw this, we checked OWA on the account and expected to see the calendar entry their also but it wasn't. Very strange behavior. Any advice would be appreciated.     - Most of my address book contacts have suddenly disappeared! I noticed that my address book, usually has 2000 or so contacts, suddenly had 59. I did a rebuild of the database, now it has 361.     - can't send E-mail--SMTP service requires secure connection I just set up an E-mail account on Entourage for my sbcglobal.net E- mail address. However, I was unable to send mail from that account as I kept getting the error message that the server is unable to send E- mail from a secure connection (error 17982). I then went into the advance options under sending E-mail and I unchecked the first option-- SMTP SERVICE REQUIRES SECURE CONNECTION. After doing this I could successfully send E-mails.     - Entourage 2004 cannot retrieve/send mail through a proxy server I have read many posts and messages about using Entourage 2004 through a proxy. They usually go as follows: User: "I used Entourage X through a proxy where did the settings go??" Expert: "Entrourage 2004 uses the Mac OS X network settings for the proxy. Under System Preferences." User: "There is no mail (smtp/pop3) proxy listed there!" Expert: "Just set the web (http/https) proxy and Entourage 2004 will use that automatically" User: "It doesn't work!" [no reply] Well, I'm here to add a bit more to this problem and ask for an explanation. I have a user with OS X and Office 2004 11.3.3 (latest update). They cannot get Entourage to work through our network. I am the network administrator here and I could not get it to work. The System Preferences has the proxy set fine. Safari works with it. Firefox works. iChat works. Entourage 2004 does not work. I fired up Etherpeek to trace what was going on. I sniffed all traffic from the user's machine while they ran Entourage 2004 and tried to check mail...and I found.... Entourage 2004 does NOT use the proxy settings from the System Preferences Network settings!!!!!! I clearly saw Entrourage trying to connect DIRECTLY to the DNS name of the mail server defined in its Accounts....and of course it was refused. I took down the firewall briefly to troubleshoot. Entourage 2004 worked FINE. My conclusion: anyone who says Entourage 2004 uses the System Preferences in Mac OSX to connect through a proxy if it is set is not correct. I checked and double-checked the proxy settings. I tested loads of applications through the proxy, manually defining it AND trying to use the System Defined proxy.     - Sharing Tasks with Outlook users on an Exchange Server Hi all, I'm an IT tech who has been given the task to support a Mac user on our Exchange system- something new for me. In Outlook, our managers are currently set up to view subordinates' tasks- i.e. we can go into Tasks, File -> Open Other User's Folder and get a view of their tasks.     - back up inbox Hi - I'm using entourage as a part of Office X on a Mac and have a lot of emails in my inbox. What I'd like to do (since some of these emails may be required at some future point) is to make a copy of the inbox as it is today (to a CD for example) and then delete all those that are not currently important so as to make the inbox more manageable.     - Calendar printing quirk Can someone please try to recreate this "quirk" in Entourage 11.3.3: 1) Create a Calendar event on an upcoming Sunday. Make it an "all- day" event. For example, create the event for Sunday, Feb. 11. 2) In the Calendar, select the "week" view option. Select the week prior to the Sunday for which you created the event. 3) Print the calendar for the week in question. On my computers, the Sunday event will show up the previous Tuesday on the week-format printout. In the example above, the event for Sunday, Feb. 11 will show up on Tuesday, Feb. 6.     - using 'crossover' to run outlook 2003 on intel macs greetings - i was wondering if anyone has used crossover ( a new windows-on-mac enabler that is still in beta mode) to run outlook 2003 on a mac. i will be trying to install it later today but thought it may be prudent to check other people's experience on this. i find outlook to be a much better email and communications tool including its layout and support. background - i have been using entourage for a while to connect to my company's exchange server and have been unimpressed with the only partial support so i have reverted to using a mac and a windows machine concurrently but would like to consolidate all onto the mac platform (since its much much better than anything MS will ever come up with in the foreseeable future).     - Lockups while folders are sync'ing I have recently started to use Entourage (I'm a new mac user) at work. We are on an Exchange server and I'm having problems with folders syncing and locking up my mac periodically throughout the day. When I first loaded Entourage, it sync'ed all of my folders and that process took a while - I'm okay with that. Since then, I have turned off the scheduled jobs that caused periodic sync's with all folders. I also moved all of my old "sent items" messages to another folder - this has helped since this folder was sync'ed everytime I sent a new email and it had thousands of messages in it. At this point, I'm still struggling with two remaining issues: 1. Every time I restart Entourage, it wants to sync all of my folders. This process does not take as long as the first time, but it does take at least 5 minutes. During the majority of that time, Entourage is frequently displaying the spinning color wheel and I'm not able to do much. It annoying that I have to wait every morning before I can start using email. 2. Periodically through out the day, Entourage will sync what seems to be random folders. I expect it to sync my inbox and any folder that I move a message to, but it will occasionally sync other folders that I have not touched. In both cases above, I would have expected Entourage to sync completely in the background. Its frustrating that the sync operation has an impact on my work in the foreground (spinning color wheel pops up and I can 't type or navigate for sometimes up to 30 seconds.)     - E-mails Don't Print Correctly We transferred our Entourage X Main Identity on a PowerBook G3 to Entourage 2004 on a MacBook Pro. The only thing that is not working properly is the printing of some (but not all) e-mails. Some of them will only print with about 7 blank lines between every printed line. Thus a one page e-mail becomes a seven page e-mail when printed. It happens both on old (prior to transfer) and new (after transfer) e- mails and on both sent and received e-mails.     - Right time = wrong time I import my iCal calendar into Entourage (2004 v. 11.3.3) and have a weird problem. If an event is scheduled for 2pm, it shows up in the calendar display (day, week or month) as 1pm. But when I open that individual event, it shows the time correctly as 2pm.     - IMAP Sent Messages Date incorrect I noticed that a number of my sent messages had the wrong date in the view for when they were sent.     - Sent mail wrong date I noticed that sent mail items from my .Mac mail IMAP server - some of it came down with the current date yet it was done in the past. I decided to rebuild the database and bring down all the mail. What happened was a ton of messages came down with the current date instead of the actual date. Has anyone seen this. I don't think there is much I can do about it. The messages in Apple's mail.app all have the right date but not Entourage and only in the Sent items folder.     - OS X font issues Just hooked up a new iMac w/ latest dual Op softaware. Vesrion of Office is also current. When sending HTML emails to XP platforms, what starts out as 14' copy on my unit winds up 8.5 on recipients. Have tried varuious settings in Font Prefernces window w/ no change in results.     - All day annual events and Sync with .mac I was wondering if anybody has experienced the following problem. Entourage is setup to sync with iCal (2.03) and .mac. This works fine, however when I sync iCal (1.5.5)with .mac on another machine all the all-day annual events become messed up. More specifically, these events are inserted into iCal in the UTC timezone, so rather than being an all-day event it becomes an 24 hour event spread over two days. The hours are shifted based on the original Entourage default zone (which in my case is +8 hours). I also noticed that if you turn an all-day annual event in iCal off and then on again, the time zone for that event in Entourage changes to 'Casablanca, Monrovia' (which is the same as UTC).     - Networking Entourage I use entourage at work, and I was wondering if there was a way to put entourage on our network so other people can access it and make changes to it. Also, I wanted to be able to access this up to date entourage from home and make real-time changes from there too. Can anyone help me out.     - Lost all emails! Customer of mine has a G4 Aluminum with Entourage. Had all her late husbands emails...key word "had"! She asked me to change his email account so that it would download her emails. I changed his account information to her information and her emails began trickling in. Had another issue where laptop needed to be restarted. When I brought Entourage back up after restart, it asked me to reenter the email account information that was originally in there for her husband. First of all, why? What does it care? All I know is that once I re-entered everything, all of the emails were gone!! So, my question is, how can I find the emails again? What is the path for the main email file? Thanks!     - Autofill not filling I have a problem with Entourage 2004 and would like to ask your help with: The problem is that the addresses don't show up in the autofill feature. We are using Exchange 2000 server. It is connecting to the server to get the mail and if the user types in the complete email address, it works. The problem is that it seems to not be accessing the list of staff emails from the Exchange server. When you type a letter, such as "B," then Bill and Bob and Belinda should all show up in a list, the "autofill."     - Entourage 2004 Won't Connect with Exchange My company uses USA.net for Exchange services and I'm trying to connect to my server there. What's happening is that I can connect initally after creating a new Entourage profile and my Exchange folders are syncronized with Entourage. And if I leave Entourage active, all is well. But if I restart Entourage, with or without recycling the MAC, Entourage won't connect to the USA.net server. With this I get the message "Mail cannot be received at this time" and it implies that the user id, password or security is invalid. So far, I've recreated my Entourage account several times and have also been excercising Keychain Access in the MAC where I think the problem may lie. I think it's either that or something having to do with security/encryption, about which I know very little. I've also talked to the help desk at USA.net a few times but their MAC support is less than stellar. I've been googling the symptoms quite a bit and this problem doesn't seem to be uncommon. But most of the solutions have to do with in- house fixes and don't really address the external environment that I'm in. I'm using the latest version of Entourage on an OSX 10.4.8 Mac Mini.     - Transferring Entourage Data We've been running Entourage X (version 10.1.6) on a PowerBook G4 and want to transfer all of our mail (6 years worth) over to a new MacBook Pro running Entourage 2004 (Version 11.3.3). We have been unable to locate instructions for exactly how to do this. We've checked both Microsoft and Apple web sites, but we haven't found anything that actually works.     - Can't print a thing! Have the latest version of Entourage running on Macbook Pro. When I try to print (calendar, tasks) Entourage locks up on the print subpage. I've reinstalled the latest update, deleted the forms in the MUD folder, compacted, checked integrity, and did all the above both with my fingers crossed and with my legs crossed (sorry for the sarcasm but I'm just a tad frustrated ;-).     - Entourage 11.0.0 Won't quit I'm running a powermac Quad 2.5, OS 10.4.8, 4gb Ram, plenty of HD space available. When I quit Entourage, it still remains resident, requiring me to force quit.....     - Problems syncing with Entourage/Palm Treo/error message on plugin I'm trying to sync with my palm treo 650 and entourage (I use Outlook on my office PC, so I'm trying to use the Treo as a conduit). The handheld sync software on mactopia downloads fine and then says it can't be installed because I am missing the miscrosoft office plugin.     - Entourage conflict with ATT POP I have been using my ATT POP account linked to Entourage for a couple of years now but want to get rid of ATT and only use my MAC IMAP account. I created a MAC account, unchecked the "include this accoun in the send and receive all schedule" under my ATT account. The problem is that when I do that, my MAC mail gets dumped to my ATT account and I have to sign in to ATT to retrieve it. The only way to get my MAC mail to Entourage is to recheck the "include this account in the send and receive all schedule" box under my ATT account. Why does this happen? through Entourage, or so I thought. I keep getting intermittent 1025
error messages, telling me I have not correctly assigned folders.
Problem is, I can't find what's wrong with the settings. All boxes
are checked and the folders they are assigned to are correct.

How do I fix this????

Adam Bailey is the AOL expert. Maybe he will chime in soon. In the mean time

Don't assign any folders. All of the boxes under "Special Folders" in the
"Advanced" tab should be unchecked.
