Entourage does not synch the calendar and address book on the exchange
server with my local computer anymore. All the old info is still on the
server, but it has disappeared from the local computer. I noticed this
after updating to SP2, but don't know if that did it or not. Any ideas
on how can I get it to transfer the info from the server to the local
computer?

Are you aware that your Exchange account now has a Calendar and Contacts
folder where that information now lives? Or are you wanting that information
to specifically live on the On My Computer versions of the Calendar and
Address Book?

In this case we don't know if the problem lies with Entourage or the
Exchange server. Better to test on the side of caution.

I would suggest that you use Entourage's Switch Identify menu command to
create a new identity and then synchronize that with the Exchange
server. This should bring all Exchange server information down to
Entourage. If this works, you might consider sticking with the new
identity (depending on how much of your preferences, rules, etc., yoou
would need to set up again).

I suggest this method because a bad synchronization could possible lose
data on the server.

Hope this helps! bill

Yes, I can see the info in the contacts and calendar folders in
exchange, even when not connected to the server. So that is on my
computer. However the info that used to be in the address book and
calendar folders On My Computer is now gone. That's what concerns me
and these folders don't seem to be being synched anymore.

I gave this a try. All the info on the server was downloaded to the
appropriate folders in the exchange part of entourage on the local
computer, but nothing was synched to the folders in the On My Computer
part of entourage. In the past the synching happened to the folders On
My Computer too.

I am have the same issue. The Addressbook [On My Computer] and the
Calendar [On My computer] are now not sync'd with the exchange server.

There is a new "view" called Contacts {name of my exchange account) and
the same for calendar.

This would be OK except it's confusing, and some of the programs that I
use (pocketmac) for sync seem to assume that the view that needs to be
sync'd is the [on my computer] view, making these programs useless.

Is this a feature, or a configuration issue, or a bug?

The Exchange server will only sync with your Exchange accounts. The "On
My Computer" folders are not a part of any Exchange account. POP
accounts will download messages to "On My Computer" but IMAP and
Exchange will appear as different account folders at the same level as
"On My Computer".

Unfortunately, information in these folders was never synchronized to
your server.

I have had the same issue (and same complaint): Pre SP2, the lcoal
computer and exchange server Address books and Calendars were one view
in Entourage. At work, the exchange "view" was handled by tagging all
my work related information with the "Work" category. In this way, my
local address book/calendar had my personal information and my work
information in one view. The Entourage synch was set-up only to synch
that category which kept my personal information off my company's
server. Now under SP2, I have to look at two different calendars and
two different addressbooks. The synch to my pda is now useless since
it only synchs on the local computer not the exchange information.

I can work around the address book, because Entourage always all the
Exchange addresses to be dragged onto the local Addressbook. It's a
kludge and runs the risk of propagating bad info. But I have not found
any way to get the events on my work (exchange) calendar onto the local
one. Does anyone have any ideas?

In the Calendar view, click the disclosure triangle next to "Calendar Views"
to open it if it's not already open. Click the "All Events" view to open
it. Drag events from the list to the "Calendar [On My Computer]".
