Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

On a recently purchased macbook pro I am testing the trial version of microsoft office. I have set up 2 accounts, both are able to send mail but neither receive mail. All the info & passwords are correct. Where do you think the problem is?!

Any details on the error messages you are getting?? 99% of the time, it
would mean that the POP or IMAP server settings are wrong (and if you
can send, the SMTP ones are probably correct).

This happened to me with Exchange.

Right click on the inbox folder to folder properties and select empty cache. It will reload all your emails from the server and clear up the issue, hopefully.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I copied the POP settings are directly from the account info on my pc which im still using to receive my email. The POP & IMAP settings both " mail.hogarcollection.com"
The error message that comes up is:
....The server for mail.hogarcollection.com returned the error "login failed..." your username/password setting may be incorrect. Would you like to re enter your password.

I really appreciated your help with this.

Thanks,

Gerelyn.

That's very different indeed.
ENtourage uses the Keychain to store password information. Sometimes, it
gets corrupted.
You can launch the Keychain Access application and use the First Aid
command to try and fix it. If it doesn't work, try to find the entry
corresponding to your account and delete it. This will allow Entourage
to re-create a brand new and clean one.

I used first aid and deleted the corresponding entry but it still doesn't work!
I really want to be able to use entourage but this is getting to frustrating!
can you think of anything else?
Thanks.

Does your server require authentication (using a name and password) or
does it possibly *not* require authentication? For example, while I'm at
home I am on the Comcast network. I'm not required to use my name and
password to send E-mail. However, while traveling (not on Comcast's
network) then I do have to enter my name, password and special port number.

Have you verified port numbers with those your service provider says you
need?
