You can go to Tools/Run Schedule/Edit Schedules. From there, you can
double-click Send & Receive All and change the schedule to whatever you
prefer if 10 minutes is too long for you to wait.

You can also click Send/Receive on the toolbar to initiate the process at
any time (if it's not on your toolbar, you can add it by customising it).

Go to Tools, Schedules, then double click on the schedule to change it.

Apologies if this isn't the right protocol - new to this sort of thing, and Mac and Entourage as well. Can I just clarify - is it possible not to Schedule, and for e-mails to appear when they arrive, which I was used to with Outlook? Also, when sending e-mails, does the Schedule that is set mean that they will be sent in accordance with that Schedule and not when the Send button is clicked?

Thanks for any help that anyone can provide

What exactly are you seeing?

Clicking Send in an open email, will send that email.
Emails in the Outbox will send when schedule fires.
