I am using Entourage 11.2.5 and it appears I can only save attachments
to a limited selection of folders. I click the "Save" button in the
attachment window and the "Where" popup has some random (?) selection
of folders but no provision for me to navigate to a folder of my
choice. I can't imagine a software package that does not allow the
user to choose the location to save a file. Hopefully someone will
tell me what I am doing wrong and not that this brain-dead limitation
is actually a feature of Entourage...

Try dragging the attachment to the folder you want.

Another option is to use a script. See

It sounds like you're using the abbreviated Save window. After click the
Save button in Entourage, a window appears. At the end of the line where you
see the name of your file, there's probably a triangle pointing up. Click on
the triangle once so that it points down. You should see the expanded Save
window and be able to navigate to any location on any volume.

That's not the way it works for me - are you using any utilities that would
affect folder navigation - stuff like 'default folder' etc?
