removal of HTML images from forwarded email

When I "forward" a message containing HTML graphics (e.g., a
newsletter or company promotional email), it replaces all the images
and graphics with raw HTML codes and links. There is no setting in
the panel for "preferences/forwarding" to adjust this. My "compose"
panel setting is for HTML, which works fine with new messages.

I am running version 11.3.3 of Entourage 2004 on a Powerbook. After 9
months my email mysteriously changed preferences and I cannot find a
way to reset them. The only thing that changed was I loaded an
upgrade of Office a month ago.

Also, are there ruler and format copy/paint tools in compose? In
windows outlook, you can use Word to compose messages. Not in
Entourage?

I've also always wondered how to retain the html formatting when
forwarding an html message with images. (like forwarding an email
newsletter to someone)
It sends it as html, but applies color and text attributes to the code.

The problem is that Entourage has only got a simple HTML editing engine, but
can display complex HTML by using the Tasman Browser engine. So, although
your complex HTML displays OK, when you reply to it you you get the
simplified version that the editing engine can handle.

The best way to avoid this is to use 'forward as attachment', which will
preserver the original message exactly as it was received.

You can (in Office 2004) create a message in Word and then use Word's 'send
to mail recipient > as HTML' command (under the File menu in Word. This will
move the message to Entourage for sending, but you won't be able to do any
more editing of that message in Entourage.
