I get emails from a vendor to notify me of account activity. When I
view the emails in Entourage they appear blank except for a horizontal
(html) line. If I catch the same message ion the webmail client (i.e.
access my email via my web browser and the godaddy webmail site) i can
read /view the email properly.
I'm running Office 11.3.9 on Mac os 10.3.9

Select one of the problem messages. In the toolbar under Edit select "View
Source". Do see all of the message there? Most likely it's a poorly formed
HTML message that Entourage has trouble displaying rather than a corrupted
message.

I have since viewed these emails in Thunderbird with no problem. Wouldn't that indicate that the HTML was OK?

Entourage uses a different mechanism to read HTML than Thunderbird. IE used
to be known for displaying horrible code. Sometimes that's a good thing.

Entourage 2008 has some improved capabilities for HTML, but still probably
not as full featured as a browser.

Another possible workaround is to convert the message to plain text.
Open the message, and in the Message menu, click on "Edit Message".
Entourage will ask if you want to turn off HTML formatting; reply Yes
or OK. What should happen is the plain text version of the message will
appear.

I had this problem with two different sources of HTML mail. It was a
problem with the formatting of their messages, and they were able to
force Entourage to use a different method of processing their HTML by
adding a dummy table to the start of their message, like this:

<html>
<table></table>

If you can communicate with the sender of the message, and they are
willing to try this solution, it might work for you. The dummy table
will literally have no effect for anyone else; it will only affect
Entourage 2008 users.

I am not using entourage to necessarily "browse" really just trying to read the email. I have tried to convert to text but they are accessing info from some online database (I think) and I get a bunch of text that makes no sense. I will try to see if they would add the dummy table but...
Anyway, Diane and Allen thanks for the input and maybe if I update to 2008 I'll see if it helps.
