hello
is there anyone who knows about getting access to public adress folder
with a
exchange 2000 server and entourage X 10.1.4?
when i open the additonal public adress folder with the old client
outlook 2001, i
have all my adresses. if i use entourage x, it opens the folder as a
e-mail folder, and
i don't get my adresses.
do i need ldap, to connect to the public adress folder?

thanks for your help

simon

hi diane
thanks for the link. i can't hardly believe that.
public folders are one the main features of
the exchange server. so this entourage x update 10.1.4 ist just
useless.
please ms, hurry up to bring us a real exchange client!!

kind regards

derrick

Not only that, the "upgraded" Entourage won't access the Global
Address Book on my Exchange server unless I can badger my IT
department into installing LDAP services on it. Which they ain't gonna
do, because it'd be like installing a beat-up Chevy pickup onto the
back of your brand new Jaguar coupe just so one extra guy can ride
along. C'mon MS, I know you guys can do better than this. Outlook is
the only reason I have to boot Classic at all. And lemme tellya, I
REALLY FRICKING HATE CLASSIC. Almost as much as Windows. = )

I think there is a little confusion here.

Exchange 2000 depends on Active Directory being installed and on being able
to communicate to the Active Directory using LDAP. The chevy pickup has been
there all along, in pristine shape...
