 - Calender Reminders Hi, Does anybody know how to reset the snooze and/or dismiss functions=20 within the calendar reminders? They both have the drop down logos but=20 they do not seem to function. In outlook, I'm able to drop these boxes=20 down and select when I would like to be reminded again. Can't seem to = do=20 this with Entourage. Any assitance is greatly appreciated.  - Entourage hanging I'm running Jaguar 10.2.6 on a beige G3 tower w/256mb RAM. (Actually its my wife's machine) I have Entourage 10.0.0. Lately, whenever I start Entourage, after a minute or so, it will show the spinning beach ball and at that point Entourage will not respond and the beach ball just spins. I have to force quit the program, but upon launching it again, I am told that a particular file is corrupt. First, after the splash screen comes up, I am told that the OE Rules files is corrupt. I click OK and the program quits. I remove the file from my Office Identities folder and relaunch the program. The next file is the Mailing Lists and then after removing that file and relaunching, I am told the Signatures file is corrupt. Once I've removed them all, Entourage will startup with no messages, but this is where we start to loop. After a minute, the beach ball shows up... I don't think its having a problem with a particular email, as I can manipulate mail before the beach ball show up. I've deleted a couple of messages and read some others (quickly).  - Entourage Delegates via SSL I read somewhere else that Delegates won't be able to see the calendars/contacts of those they support is the company uses SSL to connect, which we do, and that is was a known issue with Microsoft. Any idea of when this will be addresses? Also, by Delegates, do they strictly mean delegates or can the user just give them rights to cal/contacts/top level mailbox? It's a pain making someone a Delegate. There is this weird bug where you can't change the Address List to select a new delegate and some are stuck in a sublist. This is from Outlook 2004 and XP.  - after sync with Palm 505, company names not alphabetized Hi, After I sync my palm to entourage X, the company names are never=20 alphabetized properly. Cards with last names and first names are fine, = but if=20 a company doesn't have a name in it, it gets placed in the most random=20 order. I can fix it by hopening up the contact in my palm and rewriting = the=20 company name, that put's it in the correct alphabetical order, but I = have to=20 do that constantly after major syncing.  - Entourage 2004 and Exchange 2003 on SBS2003 Losing mail folders I am using Entourage 2004 via webdav to talk to an Exchange 2003 server running on SBS2003. I have repeatedly lost complete folders from the Exchange Server. If I create a folder that is at the same level as the Inbox or Deleted Items folders. ie. the root of my mail. These folders can disappear at random times. The entire folders and their contents vanish. The closest I have been able to get to a cause is if I follow the scenario outlined below: 1. Load entourage 2004 and access the remote exchnage server via webdav from one location. 2. Suspend my powerbook G4 without closing Entourage 3. Open powerbook and resume at a different location (from where the exchange server is accessible via the internet) 4. On random occassions any "non-standard" folders in my exchange account get deleted. If I go to OWA and look at my exchange account the folders are not there. This appears to be a GAPING error in Entourage or Exchange 2003. I have lost mail on 2 occassions because of this bug.  - address book not alphabatized For some reason, The address book is not correctly alphabatized.=20 these are contacts that were on exchange server and were imported when=20 Entouage synchronized for the first time.  - .rge rebuild (sorta-repost) We've had computers crash during a sync, which appears to destroy the project file entirely (we get an "could not read the data inthis .rge file" error). Is there a way to rebuild or force an overwrite of the .rge file (short of unsharing and resharing the project, which is a big pain)?  - Entourage forgets email -addresses?? Wel since a couple of days I have this problem: when starting a new message all your addressbook emailaddresses pop up when typing a syllable ,but the crazy thing is that all my frequently used emailaddresses don't pop up anymore? There are still a lot of addresses but all of them which I never use. I did a database rebuild but still the same. My addressbook is still intact with categories in colors etc... But mails coming in on categories don't take the colors they're supposed to be in,as in the addressbook. It's like Entourage has lost it's memory ??  - Public Folders?? My Exchange server publishes DOZENS of public folders with calendar information and other things in them. I only need access to ONE of these folders. Is there a way to NOT receive the public folders in my mailboxes? The reason is, Entourage lags horribly every time I receive new mail because it is searching through all these public folders.  - Email attachments order Hi I want to know if it is possible to place attachments in alphabetical order within entourage as you can do in outlook. When I place say files saved a through to m, they are jumbled up rather than being placed I alphabetical order?!!  - vanishing address book After I have imported contacts into Entourage, I cannot see them when I go to email a new message. They are not shown in the address list in the new message window, nor can I see them when I start typing names. I can only see those address in my GAL. If I create a new address it will show up but not the imported ones. I have tried opening each contact to get them to re-register and rebuilding the database of Entourage.  - Sync Issue with Entourage X and Palm Hey all, Recently I was unable to sync my Palm with my iMac (OS X, Office v.X). Reading some info on the web I completed a fresh install of the Palm Sync Software and the Entourage conduit to no solution. I eventually went as far to disable some of the components of the Entourage conduit and that fixed the issue. I currently have all modules syncing except the Calendar, which when its enabled crashes the sync process.  - Calendar problem in Office 2004 I have the new Office 2004 and seem to have a problem with the=20 Calendar section with-in Entourage. When i want to put something into my Calendar, example: Dental=20 appointment 4.30pm June 29th, when I click SAVE a message keeps=20 coming up saying that 'this event is in the past' ?  - MSN 4.0 Retrieving Comcast Account E-mails I have recently upgraded my MSN to 4.0 and is causing a problem. It somehow changed my setting and now the Hotmail account is retrieving my Comcast e-mails which was being received through Entourage. I have not changed any setting and it was working fine until I downloaded the upgrade. I am on Mac OS 10.2.8 and am using Entourage V. X.  - Event Invitations To Windows When I create a new event (Entourage 2004) and invite someone who is using Outlook or Outlook Express on Windows - all they get is a text version of the invitation. The event is not entered into their calendar - they are not given the opportunity to accept or decline the invitation. If they send me an invitation I AM able to accept / decline and the event is added into my calendar automatically. This has been a problem with Entourage for some time.  - Entourage 2004 not deleting messages from server Ok I upgraded to this fantastic new upgrade! But have had nothing but problems. The main one is that even though my settings are set to delete messages from server hen they are deleted from my computer, 2 hours later entourage will download them all over again. Is this a bug? I can click on the envelope at the left of my message and choose delete from server also, but still the same happens. It can build up so I have a few hundred messages, then suddenly everything works just fine, it appears to delete the messages from the server and we start the cycle all over again! Using Entourage 2004 on my Mac, I am now able to create meetings nad=20 invite windows users ... however ... if they respond to me, or invite me = to a=20 meeting, all I get is a winmail.dat attachment along with some text = about=20 the meeting.  - Delete multiple categories? After finally getting my Entourage address book, OSX address book and my P800 phone address book 'synched up' I have ended up somehow with over 800 categories 790+ of which are 'blank' oe 'empty'. It seems that the only way i can delete them is if I go to 'edit categories' and manually delete one by one.  - auto fill for mac entourage? I use 2001 version and transferred my Now Contact contacts into Entourage. In Now Contact when I'd add a contact to an existing company in my db, it would automatically fill out the rest (Company name, address, zip etc.) so i didn;t have to keep typing.  - New Preview Pane view in 2004 Ok, I've already sent this to MS feedback, but would like to know if others have encountered similar issues on features they commonly used in previous Entourage versions. I also sent them a little 'tap' on their new default Group View option. (which can't be modified or turned off except by a painful folder by folder basis) To MacBU, Why did you add a email Preview Pane variation to the old shortcut ( <command>+\ ), and make a new shortcut variation ( <command>+<shift>+\ ) to the old Preview Pane view? I understand wanting to ensure users know about a new added feature, but to permanently modify an established behavior simply to show off a new variation and force me to change the way I work is incredibly bad form. It's more than that, it's maddeningly, frustratingly, pointlessly rude. Will it stop me from working? No. Will it waste any of my time? not really, but yes until retrain myself how to hide and show preview changes. Will I get over it? Maybe. It's not really an import thing, but it will be a element of frustration I will be reminded of EVERY time I have to use the new shortcut variation. "grrrr, Microsoft changed this for no good reason, grrr" It is these kinds of interface issues that comprise the majority of my frustrations with Microsoft Productivity products (mac or PC) I appreciate that a lot of thought, effort and testing goes into many of the features refined and added to new products. But each "Microsoft thinks you should do it this way" feature compounds and increases my general frustration with a product, the Microsoft Product line and ultimately, Microsoft itself. So, yeah. Not a big deal. Not big issue. But it pissed me off enough to write this, didn't it? Mantra: Do not make the user change the established way they work unless there is a compelling, unavoidable and painfully necessary reason. If a change doesn't make a users day some order of magnitude better, it will simply come off as "Microsoft knows better than you" or in this case as a sloppy add-on for which someone was to lazy to find an another way to tell us there was a new feature in town.  - Syncing multiple addresses to old Palms I'd quite like to sync Entourage's multiple addresses over to my Palm Tungsten, but being as it is only a "T" the built-in Palm apps don't support multiple addresses and stuff. I'm aware of: <URL:http://www.entourage.mvps.org/palm/note/00a.html> but I'd still like the multiple addresses :-) Does anyone know of any app that supports the new database formats on the Palm side?  - Entourage syncing issues HELP I am trying to sync my Palm m105 with my Entourage 2004 calendar and contacts. When I connect my Palm and hit the HotSync button nothing happens. I am running OS 10.3.4. I have tried using iSync as well and can't sync. When I go into HotSync Manager and I can set up the Entourage Conduit settings. But beyond that I can't do anything. I reinstalled the Entourage Handheld Conduit download from the Microsoft site. In my Library/Application Support/Palm HotSync folder the following files are located in the Conduits folder: Microsoft Entourage Conduit Install Conduit, Note Pad Conduit, Backup Conduit. I moved the Apple Conduit file to the Disabled Conduits folder. Also, the Disabled Conduits folder still has the date of the first time I installed the Entourage Handheld download--a month ago--not the date of today's reinstall.  - Emails Missing From Deleted Items Folder on Exchange Server We run an exchange server, with almost everyone here using PCs. My boss and I still run Macs, and use Entourage with IMAP as our email client. This morning, he showed me his deleted items folder, which had emails going back to 6/2/04, which is not as far back as they went last week. He said he had emails in there from 2003, and wanted to know where his emails were. He is using Entourage X, running on the latest version of Jaguar.  - total failure & and initialization in 2004 I have experienced a total meltdown of entourage 2004 and I am looking for help/similar occurrances. Sequene of events: -I have been using entourage 2004 for a little over a month -Loaded a Macnally trackball driver -rebooted my computer -opened entourage 2004 -Everything was gone (emails, accounts, addresses) -I was prompted with the start-up screen for entourage 2004 and the welcome email from MS Has anyone seen this happen before? Any clue where all the information could have gone and how to reload it? I have used Entourage for several years but I have never had anything like this occur.  - Email addresses fill in gone? Hi Entourage is acting a bit strange When you start a new message you type the first syllable of the person who you want to mail to. Since 2 hours I only have email addresses who pop up in the Add space that I actually never mail , and all my regular email addresses seem to have gone out of that pop up list.  - exchange settings I have installed Entourage 2004 on my machine and got entourage to = import=20 my settings from Office X. The account settings for Entourage X for an=20 exchange server and Entourage 2004 are the same as far as I can see yet=20 Entourage X works on the exchange server but Entourage 2004 does not=20 and comes up with the error message HTTP error. access to the resource = is=20 forbidden -18597, any suggestions Tag: Why progress bar always disappear?  - Sync "location" to Palm from Enoutage Calendar I just noticed that my Palm (Zire 31) is not syncing the (location) from = Entourage X. Is there a place I can go to custom map this?  - Connection to the server failed or was dropped. Could not retrieve mail. Error -17985 -3231 Hello, I receive these messages intermittantly when retrieving mail in Entourage 2004. Am I losing mail, or not? Seem to receive some messages... Read earlier post on this problem, and tried checking the "use secure connection" for Receive mail as was suggested, but then received the message "Unable to establish a secure connection because the correct root certificate is not installed. If you continue, the information you view and send will not be secure." I really don't know what's going on...but I'd like to know if I'm getting all my mail. A fix would be welcome as well.  - crashes For the past 2 days, I have tried to send and receive mail, however=20 entourage just shuts down and asks if I want to send a crash report. I = have=20 changed nothing that I know of. I can send messages, but it crashes = when=20 trying to receive. I have performed virus scans as well as a database = typical=20 rebuild and nothing. Not sure where to turn now. Does anyone have any=20 ideas? Info: I run Mac OS 10.3.4 (Entourage was working fine after the last = update) on a G5.  - deleting unwanted mail I use Entourage X Service Release 1 as my email client at home where I run Mac OS 10.2.8; and OE 5.1.6 at work where we are still using Mac OS9. At work OE is set up to delete mail more than three days old which has been moved to the "Deleted Items" folder. How do I do this with Entourage X? The other complication is that some mail (a very small percentage of the letters) in my Entourage X "Inbox" and "Deleted Items" folders are blanked out and cannot be manipulated.  - Entourage 2004 Will not Sync Contacts Properly I have a user who is running Windows 2000 with Outlook XP in the office and OS X 10.3 with Entourage 2004 at home. She is able to synchronize her Mail and Calendar without any problem, however she only gets 39 of her 1500+ contacts to sync. After troubleshooting the problem for awhile I found that certain contacts will not sync and are causing the problem. For example if I remove the 40th contact from her contacts folder at the office she will then be able to sync up until contact 46, if I remove that contact she will sync up until the next contact that Entourage does not like. She does have a Blackberry which I suspect may be the culprit here. What would cause this? Is there any way to identify which contacts are the problematic ones? I find the progress bar always goes away, and I have to bring it back.
Wondering if anyone has any theories on this. Thanks!
