    - iDisk error synchronizing Entourage project code -1407 An iDisk error just popped up saying "There is a problem synchronizing the file "Archive.rge" Error code is -1407 This file is located on my computer. I searched .mac support and found nothing. Does anyone have any idea what happened and what I should do? I usually get those conflict alerts and I choose either the file on my hard drive or .mac (since using iDisk on my computer to synchronize Entourage projects). Maybe it's nothing to worry about?     - .PST files from MS Outlook running on WINDOWS I am new to Apple and Entourage. I would like to convert my emails from my old Windows Outlook .PST files to Entourage.     - Address Book Issues - Please help! I am a new Mac user and recently switched over from Outlook to Entourage. The Address Book in Entourage is totally confusing to me compared to the one in Outlook. 1) My addresses don't seem to be in alphabetical order. In fact, they don't seem to be in any kind of order at all. When I click on the Name or the Company tab to change the order around, the order does change but there's no explanation of what my order option are so I don't know what I'm doing when I click on these tabs. It seems like the more I click on them, the more bizarre the order gets. I also have a ton of duplicates for business contacts mostly. Possibly this was a glitch with the transfer from Outlook to Entourage. I haven't even begun to tackle that yet. 2) I'm using Entourage for both personal and business use. Say I'm good friends with Mary Smith and have met her husband at dinner several times. I want to enter them both, together, as husband and wife, in Entourage: John and Mary Smith. However, I want to enter an e-mail address specifically for HER. I do not want it to show up in my e-mail as addessed to John and Mary Smith; I just want it to show up addressed to Mary Smith. The only choices I have for the e-mail address are Home, Business, or Other. This doesn't change the fact that whichever one of these I choose still puts both the husband and wife's names in the address line in my e-mail to Mary Smith. Is there any way around this without making a completely separate entry for her? This seems crazy; it was no problem in Outlook. 3) I see a similar problem with birthdays. Say I enter one of my employee's families. Him, his wife, and his two kids. I want to keep track of each of their birthdays, but Entourage only gives me the option to enter one birthday.     - Urgent: Possible security problem Hi I am having a bizarre problem that I am not able to discern whether is Entourage based or not, but Entourage is my primary email client and I use it every day for most email tasks. Some people are receiving emails that I did not send from my Hotmail account. One of them is receiving the emails otherwise blank but has "Not read:" in the subject line. Another replied that an attachment had been sent from me that she couldn't open, also has "Not read:" in the subject line. I have not sent any email whatsoever to the latter recipient in quite some time. I have run virus scans on my computers with Norton and have not found anything, however, I am concerned there is some kind of security issue here. Can anyone tell what might be causing this?     - Font size too LARGE when printing tasks in Entourage. Help, I'm using up the forests! I am not visually impaired but my Entourage must think I am. Every print job comes out in a large font size - 16 or 18 at least. When I go into prefences in Entourage and click "FONTS" & then "printed items" it does not change the size or the style of the front regardless of what size or style I enter. Also when clicking PRINT the print dialogue box does not seem to offer a choice of font size or styles (I'm a recent convert from PC Office, and you could make a font adjustment here) What am I missing?     - MAC G5 OSX will not connect to W2K3 SBS Exchange Server Hello Newsgroup, I am trying to connect two MAC computers to a MS Small Biz server, with exchange. These systems do not have Entourage or Outlook 2001. Just the plain MAC email client. I have POP and/or Full Exchange SMTP running on the server (Windows 2K3 SBS). Group Policy is set so the MACs see the shares on the server, etc. I am still unable to get the MACs to send email to the server - I get a message that say the MAC email client cannont connect to the server. I have tried configuring an account as POP, and as EXCHANGE, but no luck in either case. What am I missing here? Any help will be greatly appreciated.     - 'gobbledygook' text display in Entourage Am using Entourage 2004, on a iMac G5 2GHz with OSX10.4.4. The text of several emails comes out completely garbled when viewed or printed yet when replying or forwarding, or copying and pasting the text into another application, it displays perfectly.     - syntax error Having nothing but problems since i upgraded to Office 2004. Trying to send out my newsletter to my list which consist of 5 "groups." I get a syntax error on four of the groups and then get a "floh internal system error on the fifth group. The floh problem also tells me "The SMTPserver does not recognize any of the authentication methods used by Entourage. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings. Error 17092 There is no problems in the settings. They have not changed. I even created a new account and nothing changed. Still getting these errors. Using OSX Tiger 10.4.4 on a G5. Please help.     - AppleScripting Exchange Public Folders Does anyone know if this is possible? I'm getting an "Access not allowed" error when compiling a script with anything like the following: tell application "Microsoft Entourage" set myfolder to "Contacts" in folder "All Public Folders" in folder "Public Folders" of Exchange account "Account Name" end tell I've tried a number of variations on the syntax (trying "address book" instead of folder, etc.), but before I bruise my forehead much more, I figured I ask if anyone knows if it's even possible to work with public folder data from AppleScript in Entourage. My plan was to write a script to tie some info in FileMaker to a particular Entourage public address book record. I'd use the ID field to tie the records together and offer a button in the FileMaker layout that when clicked displays the related contact record in Entourage. I can imagine that there may be a (security?) reason that public folders are off limits to AppleScript, so I thought I'd ask about this one before putting any more time into it.     - Moving messages from archive to Exchange loses dates?!? I haven't seen this addressed and I hope someone has a solution. I archived my email in Entourage and have tried populating the inbox in a new Exchange account by dragging from the .RGE imported email to the corresponding folders. When I do this, the email date is changed from the original message to that specific moment. Has anyone encountered this and figured out a way to keep the original message dates?     - Slow Server Connection Using Entourage 2004, I'm having problems with server connection slowing down if I want to move a message to a different folder on the IMAP server (local network). The progress window tells me it's "Searching Folder on Server" which can take more than a minute or so, during which time Entourage does nothing else.     - Synchronization options after updating to 11.2.1 ? Hi, I'm just installing Entourage for a user and when I update it to 11.2.1 I notice that within the Account setup (Exchange) section that the tabs change from what I'm used to! The main thing that concerns me is that the Synchronization options section totally disappears from the Advanced tab and the whole program. Does Entourage 11.2.1 still synchronize like 11.0.0 did?     - Post to Write-only group with Entourage Does anyone know how I do this> With outlook express I would just drag a word doc to the icon for the newsgroup (University of Phoenix Online) and OE would create a new posting to that group with the file attached. Then I click send/post & boom it's done. In Entourage I can't drag-n-drop & I can't create a new posting & type in teh name of the group.     - saving data when changing computers I had to replace my hard drive, and when I re-installed Office 2004 with Entourage onto my new hard drive, I wanted to bring in all my old data (emails, calendar, address book, etc). I had all this on a secondary Mac Ibook. I tried just copying the "main identity" folder contents to my new computer, placing it in the exact same location, but that has not worked. It's under users/my name/documents/microsoft user data/office 2004 identities/main identity. The files are there, but Entourage isn't reading them. I've been able to recover my calendar, address book, and notes by syncing with my palm between old and new machines, but this doesn't recover all my emails.     - Entourage Today As a former Outlook user, I miss Outlook Today whereby I had all the days activities (calendar, tasks, etc.) available on the first outlook screen. Entourage does not have this feature and although i have found a 3rd party shareware product, I am not confident enough with the integration of non-Microsoft or Apple products to take the plunge.     - Entourage cannot connect to the server. Ever since I upgraded from Entourage X to Entourage 2004 I've had nothing but problems. When ever my schedule runs to check my mail I'm constantly getting error messages such as "Entourage cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network." I'm connected to a working internet connection, always am. I also get messages that my "Mailbox is currently locked" and wanting me to re-enter my password, what does that mean and why is this happening?     - Entourage wont empty hotmail "delted items" folder Entourage is holding on to some deleted messages from my hotmail account and i dont know why or how to stop it. When i check hotmail using a web browser, the deleted items folder only contains mail less than 24hours old (like it should). Whereas the entourage deleted items folder is holding onto some messages that are over 1 year old. When i try to delete them manually, it says "You cannot manually delete messages from the Hotmail Deleted Items folder. Hotmail will empty the folder automatically." What's going on?     - Sync to Palm failures All. Until yesterday I have been happily syncing Entourage 2004 to my Palm devices with the conduit and Missing Sync. However I now obtain this error when I try.     - Multi-day event overlapping weeks and months will not print correctly on monthly calendar When I tried to print monthly calendars, after putting in an all-day event from 5/27/06 through 6/10/06, the May calendar printed OK, but the event did not show up in the printout of the June calendar (or in Preview). In the June printout, each day from May 29 through June 9 had instead a gray "More..." tab in the lower right corner. In Entourage, the event looked fine: it just would not print.     - Trouble with nested exchange folders - messages and subfolders I'm using Entourage 2004, and I'm having trouble getting at messages saved in nested folders on an Exchange 2003 server. I'm connecting using WebDAV. I'm able to get to my inbox and calendar. I save old messages on the server in a "Saved Messages" folder tree (outside of the Inbox), which contains folders nested three layers deep. Many of the folders show up, but they appear to have nothing in them when, on the server, they contain numerous messages and subfolders. I can get to all of the folders and subfolders in OWA. When I check the properties of all the folders using Outlook on my work PC, I can't find any difference between the properties of the folders that work right and properties of the folders that don't. Permissions, etc. are identical among all the folders. When I use Cmd-I to check folder properties in Entourage, trying to check permissions or storage of the 'broken' folders results in errors. If I try to check storage, I get the error message, "Entourage cannot calculate the size because it cannot connect to the Exchange server. The Exchange server might be unavailable. Try again later." If I try to check permissions, I get the error message, "Entourage cannot connect to the Exchange server to retrieve permissions," etc. However, the very next folder might work properly. This problem affects specific folders consistently -- the list of affected folders doesn't change each time I use the program. It affects some folders at all layers but not, all of them. So, for example: Saved Messages Folder 1 (works) Folder 2 (doesn't work) Folder 3 (works) Subfolder 1 (works) Subfolder 2 (doesn't work) Subfolder 3 (works) Like I said, they all work fine in OWA. Does anyone have any recommendations? Macs are unsupported in my workplace, so I have to figure this out on my own if I want to use my Mac at home to access my Exchange mail. Thanks.     - import from mail I have been asked by management to switch from Apple's Mail app to Entourage. I have Office Mac 2004 std edition installed. An import from Mail option was available and I imported my messages from Mail to Entourage - or so I thought. In the Entourage folder pane there was my list of folders (for each client / project etc) - some folders were missing and some emails within folders were not imported) It seems that Entourage failed to import any folders and emails created from the end of Sept 2005! (This may be when I updated to Tiger). I then dragged a folder from Mail to my desktop and created a folder.mbox file. I then dragged this onto the Entourage folder pane and it was imported - however while the .mbox file contained for example 10 email messages - The same folder imported into Entourage contained 7 - the missing emails were ones created after the end of September 2005! I am pulling my hair out at this point. My std edition CD does not have the value pack / utility folder with the import from Mail script talked about on the web by user who have had similar problems.     - troubleshooting Entourage I can receive, but cannot send mails from Entourage 11.2.1 (MacOS 10.4.4, Power Book G4), because Entourage does not accept the Authentication. However, exactly the same account setting works perfectly with other 2 Macs I have (eMac and iBook).     - Blck-xxxxx files in Entourage Temp Folder ? Entourage 2004 is creating multiple files named Blck-xxxxxxx (where xxxxxxxx is numeric), in my MUD Entourage Temp folder - apparently while synchronising. Nearly all of these files are 512KB in size. After a compaction of the database, and first subsequent use of Entourage 2004, approx 1700 of these files were created. This process is crucifying my speed, and rapidly consuming my disk space. Does anyone know under what conditions these files are triggerred and why?     - sent email repeatedly returns to my inbox? Entourage V11.2.1, After "FW"ing what i thought was a benign email to a friend, the email returns to me daily multiple times and is dated Jan 10, 2006, the day i origianlly forwarded the message. I do have a rule created that places all emails from her into a specific folder.     - Split recipients script: character set problem I have downloaded Paul's "split recipients" script for sending mail to a large list. It does an excellent job, but there is a problem with the character encoding. If I set a specific setting, i.e. Greek ISO in the original message, it reverts to "automatic" in the newly created split messages. This creates a problem, as reported before (http://tinyurl.com/dzgws). Is there a simple command I can add to the script to force the new messages to keep the character set I want? Hi people, please help me! I'm the only Mac user in a group of PC
users. Recently we shifted POP for Hosted Exchange. The supplier don't
provide Mac/Entourage support, but I have succeded to view and use my
mail, calendar and addressbook. Other users can view my calendar, but I
can't view theirs! I get strange error messages like "Entourage could
not find the mailbox for user X" when I try to open other users
calendars. I have tried to find a "compleate" settings-guide for
Entourage, but can't find any.

seriously though I'm in a similar situation here, we're a PC office with one
user on Entourage (2004) and it'll be up to me to get that up and running.

Hi Gerry,
The MS doc is quite extencive but does only suggest auto set-up of
Entourage to the Excange server, and that does not work, I only get
error messages when I try. I hav'nt found any detailed info on how to
set it up manually with detailed explanations on how to do it. cheers
