 - 2008 BUG: Remove Attachments command makes Entourage go haywire... If I remove attachments (Message menu --> Remove All Attachments) it will do one of two things... 1) The email itself will disappear 2) The email itself will disappear and text from the missing email will be transposed on to the left column and will remain until you switch modes. FEATURE REQUEST: I was going to check if the functionality to remove attachments was more robust in 2008. I would like the ability to make a rule to delete certain attachments. Namely any that begin with "image00", which means that it's one of my windows counterparts putting a goofy image in their signature. Having these deleted on arrival would be great so that when I sort by attachment to find an email, I don't have to wade through these false positives. In 2008, I can switch identities and it gives me the option of my Archives identity, but my archives aren't there.  - MBP RAM: 3GB v. 2GB Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: pop Configuration: 17" MBP, 2.33 GHz C2D, 3GB DDR2 SDRAM OS X v10.5.2 In the *many* crashes of Excel & Powerpoint, I've noticed that the configuration of my computer reported to Microsoft states that there is only 2GB of RAM installed. However I have 3GB. If the crash is trapped by OS X, the correct configuration of the computer is reported to Apple. Anyone else seen this anomaly? Anyone with 3GB of memory having issues with 2008? I can't find any references to this - and I'm finding posts as of folks as frustrated as I with 2008 - and folks who are equally amazed we're having issues... I routinely work with >60+MB Excel spreadsheets, with LOTS of calculations... I'm back to using Office 2003 via Parallels - it's actually faster and less crash prone than 2008 running native. In entourage i created subfolders to this email account - that i don't even know if they were available on my IMAP account...as i didn't create them in there.  - Sync with Shared Calendars Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I am the only mac user in my Exchange environment. I am attempting to open/view/schedule appointments on another user's calendar (conference room) for which I have Author permissions. I can open/view the calendar (all of the appointments Sync down to my Entourage 2008 view). When I add an appointment to the conference room calendar, it appears on my local view, but gives an error when it attempts to sync to the Exchange Server copy? Any ideas?  - Syncing iCal and Entourage Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange Syncing Entourage and iCal Works absolutely perfectly, EXCEPT that when I erase an appointment from Entourage, it is not erased in iCal. However a change of schedule for an event in Entourage induces the same modification in iCal. Moreover, if I erase an event from iCal, this is correctly synced to Exchange To summarize, erasing an event in Entourage is not synced to iCal, everything else syncs perfectly. Any hints?  - Entourage 2008 & Exchange - birthday reminders disappear Hello, I'm using Entourage 2008 (12.0.1) with Exchange 2007 as well as Outlook 2007. If I enter a birthday for a contact via Outlook, a reoccurring calendar reminder is automatically added to my Exchange calendar. As soon as Entourage syncs with Exchange, I get an overdue reminder via MyDay. Suddenly, Entourage wipes out the calendar entry in Exchange/Outlook. This is occurring over and over, no matter how many birthdays I enter into my contacts. I'm certain it's Entourage removing the entires, as its on a MBP and not always running (like my desktop is). Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any suggestions for preventing this from happening? Or do I need to chalk this up to one more reason to not use Entourage with Exchange?  - Time Machine and Backups Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I have read the recommnedations on how to backup Entourage and not use time machine but can't seem to get it to work. When I try to manually run it, it fails. Any suggestions where I might look for mistake. I make sure I had FolderOrg enabled and attached to the Identity folder which I guess allows for more then one copy. Not stop it from copying. I am trying to copy to a Networked Attached Storage Device which the system sees fine. Could that be a problem? When I manually run it it just "dings" and it's done instantly.  - Non-http URL (dgd://xxx) not clickable in Entourage 2008 (2004 ver Our product will send you HTML emails with our own type of URL that looks like dgd://blahblahblah. In Entourage in Mac Office 2004, those non-http URLs are underlined and clickable. But in Entourage in Mac Office 2008, these types of links are no longer clickable. It is much more convenient to our customers if they are clickable, else they have to cut and paste these into our application. (Wouldn't be so bad if they were never clickable, but Entourage from Office 2004 set the precedence so here we are ;) ). Is anyone aware of a way to make these non-http links clickable in Entourage circa 2008, either through configuration of Entrouage/Office/Mac OS X or perhaps in the way we render the link in the original html email. I know there's lots of commentary in forums on entering links in Entourage - this is different in that it deals with noticing non-http links in mail being displayed by Entourage and making such a link clickable in the Entourage application.  - AutoUpdate doesn't list 12.0.1 update I performed the 12.0.1 update manually using the .dmg I downloaded. In addition to not updating the version of Entourage, the update does not appear when I click "View Installed Updates" in the AutoUpdate app. I'm not sure whether this is designed behavior (since I didn't use AutoUpdate to get the update) but it seems sort of broken that this list would not include an update regardless of the manner of installation.  - Sent Folder Not Syncing - Entourage 2008 Hi, I have a problem ... and tried to search the group for an answer, but could not find one. My Sent folder is not getting copies of messages that I send via Webmail, BB or another Outlook 2003 client. Both Webmail and Outlook show all the messages I sent, but Entourage 2008 is only showing the messages I sent from it. Am I missing something really basic here?  - Multiple Mail Accounts / Rules Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: pop I have multiple email accounts and I have set them up using the "Allow online access (shows account in folder list)" option. I have also created a rule to send mail to the appropriate boxes. My problem with this is that a copy of the email shows up in MY INBOX (On My Computer, which is very annoying. I select "Move to Folder" and a copy stays in the seperate mailbox and My Inbox. When I want to delete the the last two, they all are deleted. I also have created several rules for different incoming email and unless I manually say "Apply Rules" everytime I see email show up, it does not work. Please help. When I open the event the dates are correct but when I close it it displays on the calendar a week prior to the actual dates. Is there anyway to change this color, or even darken the shade so that it is more visable? Each time I attempt to open an attached PDF file, Acrobat gives me this error message "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired". I have emailed PDF files to myself (these are files that will open in Acrobat before emailing them) and these give me the same error message. Word documents coming thru Entourage open fine.  - 12.0.1 - No auto-update, sync bugs still remain. Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop 1. After seeing the 12.0.1 update was available I continually tried to do 'AutoUpdate' from the help menu. No updates found. I eventually downloaded the stand alone installer and ran that. 2. Admittedly, my own error, forgot, did not pay close enough attention, etc, I forgot to turn off Office Notifications before running the update. This left me with Entourage still at version 12.0 To fix it I had to log out, log in with shift key, un-install office 2008, re-install office 2008, run the 2.1.1 updater and then run the 12.0.1 updater. Now Entourage was at the right version. Maybe the next updater that comes out should quit all Office Apps and background apps like the notification engine?? 3. Anxious to see if sync duplication for calendar events is fixed, I re-enabled sync in Entourage, stupidly forgetting that I had previously deleted my entourage calendar from iCal. Thus all of my entourage calendar entries were deleted when the sync occurred. What a disaster. Thankfully I had a backup of an old iCal calendar database so I re-imported that into iCal's Entourage calendar, which then synced back to Office 2008 Entourage, so I got most of my calendar events back. However, after the sync, the timezone for all my events was, once again, set to Casablanca, Monrovia... Ug. Thankfully I had an Applescript provided by a very helpful person from this board that changed Monrovia timezones to Eastern timezones.. I have not seen any sync duplicates yet but it has only been a short time. I guess we'll see what happens on that one.. And now I will vent: I realize that some of these issues are considered to be 'user error' but just the same I am still very frustrated by this experience. I was chugging along on Office v.X for years with no problems. I wish I had never updated to Office 2008. It has NOT been worth the hassle.  - Sync Services still not working with 12.0.1 update Hi everyone, I am still having trouble with Sync Services under the new 12.0.1 update. The syncing of iCal and the Entourage calendars work perfectly fine for me. However, if I edit a contact in Entourage or Address Book, the changes are not reflected in the other application.  - Entourage 2008 identifying junk mail but not moving it Good Morning. Entourage is identifying email I have set as junk and also items I have identified at blocked but it is not moving it to my junk mailbox. It is leaving it in my in box.  - Entourage 2008 & Exchange 2007 problem All: Ever since upgrading to Office 2008, I experience the following error in Entourage 2008 connected to Exchange 2007: "Unable to establish a secure connection to my.exchange.server. (0)" ..with two buttons. I think that the buttons are the standard "Cancel" and "OK"; however, I cannot verify this because they are either blank or filled with garbled/Chinese text. Clicking what I think is the "OK" button causes Entourage to become unresponsive to clicks. Specifically, my clicks register; items are highlighted, but never "un-highlighted" (I can highlight multiple items in the main window without the window refreshing). A force-quit is the only thing that causes Entourage to come back to life. Incidentally, I sometimes see the same garbled button text when other errors/alerts appear. Thinking that this was a font issue, I have searched out and removed all duplicate fonts, deleted font caches, etc. to no avail. I have also tried the following method for manually importing the server cert, but this has not resolved the issue either: <http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/leopard.html#leo5> I applied the 12.0.1 update yesterday and still see the error. When I file messages from my inbox or sent items into another folder sometimes they disapear. When checking the folder the file is not there. Also after I synchronize the folder the message doesn't show up. When I check the same folder in web based outlook it's there. Also when opening Finder / Today I'm able to find and open the message. It just doesn't show in the entourage folder.
Does any have an idea how to solve this?

This sounds similar to IMAP. Are you connecting Entourage to your
Exchange Server as an Exchange client or an IMAP client?

If you're connecting as an Exchange client then are you connecting to a
front-end Outlook Web Access (OWA) address or a back-end address that
holds your own account?
