 - Entourage:Mac 2004 Error -17897 Hi I converted directly from Entourage X.v to Entourage 2004 and when I = try=20 to get email from Compuserve Classic POP I get the following error=20 "Authentication failed because Entourage doesn't support any of the=20 available authentication methods." and "Error: -17897".  - Entourage 2004 Palm Conduit support for DateBk5 categories Wonderful that Office 2004 is finally out on the shelves! Big question I have is whether the latest Entourage conduit supports Hotsync of categories with DateBk5 on the Palm. The same feature as offered by the conduit from Now-up-to-Date.  - Syncing Entourage I decided to switch to Entourage recently. What I would like to do is find an easy way to sync the information on Entourage from my work computer (PMG4 Quicksilver) to my PBG4 so I can work at home. I am running 10.3.3. I have the POP mail settings to leave a copy of the message to the server so I can download messages on both computers but I want any changes I make to the notes, calendar, or address book to sync up also. With the Apple Address book and iCal, this could be done using iSync. Is there anything similar for Entourage? I don't have a Palm but I do have an iPod. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!  - Access Message Draft Window in Applescript I want to duplicate a mail message in Applescript... so I want to be able to read the current message draft window and create a new message based on its contents using an Applescript... any ideas?  - Entourage 2004: Problem with rules I just upgraded to Office 2004 and I'm having a problem with the rules. I have a very straightforward rule that simply looks for mail where my email address is in any "To" address and assigns those messages to the "To Me" category. For some reason, it doesn't always work. I'm looking at a message, I'm clearly in the "To" field. When I run "Apply Rules -> To Me" it works properly, but when I run "Apply Rules -> All Rules" it doesn't work. I only have the one rule, so I'm baffled. Has anyone else experienced this?  - Restore backup? I have accidentally wiped out my Entourage address book by syncing a different handheld instead of my own. I clicked the cancel button as soon as I realized what was happening, but by then the Entourage address book had already been replaced. Two questions: 1. The Palm handheld had a different user name than my own. Does this mean I can somehow get my old address book for my own profile back? How? 2. I do run backups of my computer. If the answer to quesiton #1 is "no", then what files should I restore in order to get my old address book back?  - entourage 2004 will not connect i have been using entourage v.x with no problems. i upgrade yesterday to entourage 2004 and it will not connect to our exchange server. we do not have webdav or OWA. what can i do now? i would have thought MS would have made it backward compatible.  - Ent. X not getting emails from new Exchange Our old exchange server crashed (hardware problem) about 1.5 months ago. We have rebuilt it but since then some entourage clients cannot get their email. All the windows clients work fine along with the web access for the mail. The entourage clients will try to sync with the server (thru POP3/SMTP) and it will just say "recieving messages" and will not actually pull anything down. I can setup IMAP and that works fine but we wanted to keep the email off the server as much as possible. I have updated the clients but they do the same thing. Not all entourage clients are having this problem and some have just started to develop the issue. Any ideas?  - 2 addresses in 1 acct, 2 sent folders? I have sent up 2 addresses in one account .Messages come in to the separate addresses but messages out all end up in one Sent folder.  - Memory problem with Entourage I am using version 10.1.5 of Entourage and OS X 10.2.8 on an iBook. I keep getting a message that a performance cannot be performed because I am low on memory. I have 384 mb on my iBook. I have cleaned out all of my files, pictures, etc. and don't have that much in any of my Entourage mail boxes. I cannot find a way to increase the memory allotment for Entourage. Several times I've had to reboot my computer to get rid of the message.  - Entourage Proxy Setting I'm am unable to render HTML pages in email. I am behind a firewall that = requires authenication. In Entourage X, I would get a pop-up for=20 authentication the first time I needed to use the firewall. Now I don't = get=20 anything. I just get red X's where there are images. If I click the get = pictures=20 link, it doesn't change. The network preferences are setup. I don't have a problem with any other = application.  - Error 3170 Please Help Hi, I am using POP3 with a yahoo account. I can receive messages fine, but can't send any. I get error 3170 which tells me that the server can't be found.  - Entourage is slow and get spinning wheel I'm trying to use Entourage to access my email on an Exchange server. After Entourage starts, I get the spinning wheel.  - Entourage 2004 and Exchange So I bought Office 2004 so my wife could use our Powermac at home instead of having to lug home her pc laptop or use Virtual PC with Outlook 2003. Using Office X, I was able to use calendar and adress book and it would actually sync up. Now that I am using Entourage 2004, I only receive data from the exchange server, and get an error that the calendar info and adress book info will not sync back to the exchange server....one way communication. Email does not sync up at all. I understood that in Office X, you had to use IMAP, but it was my understanding that this was no loger necessary in Office 2004. I do not know what version of exchange server her office is using, and she has to be connected in via VPN to get a connection with her exchange server. Any help or insight would be appreciiated.  - Entourage 2004 Performance Question Can anyone now using Entourage 2004 comment on its speed, particularly when rendering HTML email messages, in comparison to Entourage X? Faster? Slower? The same? Is navigating between messages still relatively slow as it is in E X? Also, bonus points if you can tell me if it can reply to a LiveJournal message from within the email message itself.  - How to secure account on your machine? In Outlook 2001, you had to log in before you could access the account and all of its stored emails. How does one do this in Entourage X? Even if you don't add the password to the keychain, you can still pull up a new mail window and see all of the account's emails. You just have to log in to send or receive. Not very private.  - Cant access Account options error (-30588) Upgraded yesterday to the new office. In Entourage, I cant get the = upgraded=20 accounts to open for editing. They work as before, but I cant access the = options, and the upgrade install seems to return options to defaults. = for=20 instance, automatic signature attachment to new emails is now turned = off.  - Suggest a Palm Device for Office 2004 I just installed Office 2004 and love the changes. I would like to start syncing a Palm device with Entourage 2004. I really just want a solid little palm device that will sync effectively with Entourage 2004 and allow me to carry all of my Entourage information around with me (I do not need the bells and whistles offered with some devices such as capabilities to play mp3 files or take digital photos).  - Exchange Server and Local Mail OS = Panther Entourage = 10.1.4 It seems after months of having rules to transfer my exchange mail to local folders, I may be circumventing a feature. When I established the Exchange Account, it brought all my folders over from the Exchange server. Will simply setting that folder to "synchronize" remove the messages from the Exchange Server and dump them on my HDD within the same folder? It seems it's working that way, but I still get "size limit" messages from the Exchange server which makes me thing the messages are still residing there rather than locally. Also, when I click on the folder, it takes a minute to pull all the messages. Is this just the folder synchronizing and downloading?  - Punctuation changes to misc characters in reply emails I am running OS X, Entourage X for Macintosh, vers. 10.1.4 When I get emails forwarded to me from others the thread of emails that=20 follow the reply or forwarding messages have their apostrophes and=20 quotation marks changed to misc characters (my default font is = Palatino). =20 All these emails are using common fonts.  - setting up 2 addresses in one account I have a home and business account with same settings. I have to set = them=20 up as separate identities therefore having to switch to see if I have = mail. Is it=20 possible to put them in the same account but to be able to view them=20 separately?  - Getting Entourage and Exchangfe server to actually work Can anybody explain to me why it is such a pain to get entourage to work with the exchange server to synchronize calender events and such? I have been trying to get this to work (on and off) for months now, without any success. I don't get any help from our ICT people since they just do not support anything mac related. What really frustrates me that when I use the trial version of a program called Groupcal to export my iCal calender to the exchange server, it works instantly and all my calender events show up in OWA. Then I use the same settings with Entourage for the Free/Busy server, and I get no synching whatsoever. Moreover there is no insight to what Entourage is doing, whether it actually connects to the Free/Busy server, or WHEN it actually tries. An option 'synch now' or something would at least let us know instantly whether it is working or not. It is amazing that with a third party software package DEMO, I get everything working instantly and with a microsoft program it has to be ever so complicated. Needless to say of course that the automatic configuration option in Entourage fails altogether of course... PS mail is no problem. I have been using it using IMAP and our exchange server for years.  - Complex HTML emails I dont actually have a copy of entourage in front of me but have been asked by a client how he can send complex HTML emails ie is there a way that I can send him a peice of HTML which he can paste into a mail like you can in edit mode in outlook express? Everybody in my company can send E-mail with their Account, but i can´t. I´ve checked the Error - Code ( 5550 ), but i don´t get a clue how to solve this Puzzle. Hello, I just installed Entourage on my OS 10.3.3 G4 connecting to a
MS exchange server. The problem I'm having is I can't send email
outside our local email network.
I can receive email & send email to anyone on our local email network.
I've checked all the account settings. Are there some settings I need
to make to our MS Exchange server or am I missing something else?

What version of Entourage are you using ??

That looks to me more like a limitation made on your network on the SMTP
server itself. Can you send mail outside through the same server from
any other app ???
