 - Making Entourage my default email program When I send an web page to an email recipiant, I want Entourage to be my default email program. When I send web pages it always goes to Mac mail. I uninstalled Mac mail to force it to Entourage and now I get the message that an emil program can not be found and I have to install the email program that came with my Mac operating system. If I can't make Entourage my default email program, what good is it. I am an Windows user tryig to convert to Mac but I find it very inflexible. Windows has a much user freindly operation system.  - Delete signature in reply email not working Hi all, I want to have my signature automatically deleted in my reply emails. I found this website: http://www.entourage.mvps.org/faq_topic/signatures.html and followed the instruction noted there (put --<space><return> in the sig). However, this solution doesn¹t work for me and Entourage is inserting my default signature in all reply emails. I¹m using Entourage 2004 v11.3.3. Any input/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.  - Exchange calendar freezes Using Entourage with exchange 2003. All of the newest updates have been done to Entourage. Email is working fine, but the calendar won't work. As soon as I go to calendar it defaults to the local calendar, upon clicking on the calendar associated with the exchange mailbox everything freezes up.  - No notification sound on prior exchange folders I'm a single mac users in a sea of pc's. I had to use office on the pc until I was able to get a copy of Office:2004 for my mac. I had some exchange folders on my account that I set up with the pc, and these showed up on the mac but have no notification sounds when email goes into them.  - Tentatively Accepting meeting requests when they are receieved Hi Hopefully you can help. We have an Exchange 2003 Mailserver and some users are using entourage 2004. The users have always stated that meeting requests have always been entered into their calendars as tentitive automatically.  - Entourage error message I recently purchased a MacBook and the fine folks at the Apple Store transfered all of my old applications and files from my powerbook to my MB. Everything is working, except for Entourage. When I try to open it, I get this error message. The application "Entourage" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "<Microsoft Entourage><StuffItEngineSDKLib><><>" I have tried re-installing Entourage but this did not work.  - To Diane Ross -- Follow up to lost calendar functions Hi Diane, I've not been able to reply to your last post about running the Export Files script as a way to identify the corrupted folder in my Entourage database so I figured I'd try posting it as a new thread. Unfortunately, I've only had time to run the script once so far. It generated an mbox file but that file did not seem to have any nested folders. It appeared to be all one file. So it didn't help me identify the corrupted folder within the database. I seem to continue to lose Entourage functions. I've now lost all canendar function. I've lost the ability to filter for subject or sender/recipient within folders. It looks like I've lost a few individual messages within one folder. I'm concerned about losing all functional use of Entourage. I do backup nightly, but each backup now has nothing more than a copy of the corrupted database, so the utility of those backups is quite limited. I do have one archive file from a few months ago, which is before any of these problems started and, presumably, from before the database got corrupted. If I decide to lose the ensuing months and go with the database from the archive, do I simply trash the database file from my primary drive and replace it with the file from the archive?  - Public Folder issues... Hi. I hope someone can be of use to me on this! I'm running Entourage on Mac OS 10.4.8 (before you ask, I DO need to upgrade to 11.3.3). I'm connected on an exchange network at my workplace where we use the Public Folders so anyone in the company can access them at anytime. This is fine for the PC users with Outlook. When I try and connect, I can see all the folders, but not their contents. A Mac engineer came into the office today and confirmed it was not a server connection issue (I can always copy to and from the main server) and came to the conclusion that it was an Entourage problem. I tried highlighting various folders within our Public Folders and adding myself as a user after doing 'command-i' in 'permissions' and giving myself all priveleges by calling myself 'Owner', but to no avail.  - Accepting a Task In Entourage 2004 on a Mac when someone sends me a Task it does not show a way to Accept or Decline the task. It also doesn't add the task to the Task folder. I can add it into my Task but on a PC you can Accept the Task and it replys back to the sender and then if you Complete the Task it send a response back to the sender.  - Entourage just lost all my mail and contacts... I've been using several versions of Entourage for 4 or 5 years and never had any sigificant problems. Today I went to check my mail and in the middle of downloading the mail Entourage quit. When I relaunched it, everything was gone...everything. Mail folders, contacts, events......everthing. You know that "welcome to Entourage" email you have when you first install and launch Entourage? That's what it looks like. My mailserver and mail account information is gone too. I have read up about rebuilding databases etc....but the Microsoft User Data folder contains a Mail DB that is only 18MB. I'm pretty sure that 5 years of email (I save all sent email too) and contacts is more than 18MB. I'd like to try and rebuild something, but I cannot even locate the files that appear to have my information. It's almost like my entire identity was deleted and Entourage is completely new. Endless googling turns up no simliar scenarios. I guess I just want confirmation that I really did just loose this forever - or if there is some way to hack into the information.  - entourage bogs down on bluetooth headset Entourage and its associated notification sounds worked fine until I paired my bluetooth headset with OSX. Even though the headset was not the preferred audio output device, Entourage insisted on using it. So when my headset was not connected to the mac, I did not get any notification sounds. Annoying but fairly benevolent. Then I discovered that when I turned on my headset, and used it to make a phone call with Skype (which does handle multiple audio devices correctly), once my call was connected, every Entourage sound that had not played, had been stored in a buffer, and I had to wait while they all played before continuing with my call. Again annoying but harmless. Then I discovered that Entourage was starting to consume a lot of CPU (15-25%) even when idle. Then I discovered I could no longer close Entourage. The window would disappear, but the process kept running and required a force quit. Finally I connected the 2 things together. I removed my BT audio device entirely, and Entourage is back to normal. So in summary it seems there are a few problems with how Entourage handles sound: 1. It chooses the wrong audio device to use for sound output. It should choose the MacOS default sound output device, or at least allow me to choose the correct one in Entourage preferences. 2. It buffers all sounds to be played until that audio path opens up, and then it plays them all. 3. It won't allow the process the be ended until all sounds have played. Please fix this!  - Ent/Exch: Scheduling shows others free/busy, but not mine I'm using Entourage 2004 on an Intel Mac, connecting to an Exchange 2003 server - no other email accounts. If I create a new event and invite others to it, the "scheduling" area shows the invitees free/busy information, but it shows "no information" for ME. Suggestions?  - Recovering User-Created Deleted Email Folder Somehow I just managed to deleted an entire email folder, rather than the message inside it. Is there a way to recover the folder and contents? This is a folder I created to store certain messages in, and it was under the "Folders on My Computer" listing, not a subfolder of anything else. I am using Entourage from Office 2004 for Mac. I'd like my boss to receive a "bcc" of the most important of them without sending him the attachmens, which uselessly crowd his account.  - Always rebuilding... Every week or so (at least every two weeks) with my dad's new MacBook Pro I've been having to rebuild the entourage database. Usually it will start off with him getting some 4362 or 4363 errors when sending some attachments and will eventually spread into corrupting emails. I then have to rebuild but then I usually lose a significant amount of untouched emails along with the actually corrupted ones. He's become so fed up with the problem that he's been wishing that he just stuck with Windows, as Outlook Express never had any issues at all.  - Exchange dumps some messages into Inbox I use Entourage 2004 and access an Exchange 2003 server at work. My only account on Entourage is my Exchange account, and some messages post to my Inbox (under Folders on My Computer), with the balance going into the inbox under the Exchange Server Account.  - Auto-respond Is there a way to setup Entourage (or have it talk to my POP3 ISP) to have it auto-reply to incoming email without actually being turned on?  - Exporting Contacts for Outlook I have sending emailings for a club and now have a list of 2,500 email addresses on Entourage broken down into seperate groups in my address book - The time has come for me to move on and I want to download these addresses so that another member can load it up onto Outlook and continue with the task ...  - Entourage viewing and printing I am trying to migrate from Outlook to Entourage but seem to be stuck on a couple of printing problems: - When printing the calender in monthly view is there anyway to change the size of the font? I am a busy man and have multiple calendar items. The default font makes it difficult to see all the items (Outlook allows printed font to be changed and also text wraps items so you can see the whole item rather than it being cut-off). - When printing tasks is there anyway to view and print the notes column?  - "Send complex html" shows recipients... Hi, Since several years, I've been using the script Send Complex HTML (right now version 2.0.3) by Paul Berkowitz/Steven Friesen to send out a newsletter (bulk mail) on a daily basis. It's great. But today, I sent out another newsletter for a client, the first edition, and something odd and unpleasant happened; All recipients in the group were in the "To" field and of course viewable for all other recipients. The thing is that I did exactly the same way as I always has done (we're talking thousands of times), and it's never been like this: 1. Create group, keep recipients there. 2. Create html mail in html editor 3. Create new message, add group to "to" field 4. Select "Send complex html" from the script menu. 5. Send. I know I perhaps should have added the group to the BCC and the sender address in the "To" field, but why on earth has this never, ever happened before? I am completely baffled....  - Getting your text and images to print together In Entourage someone sends me a short note with image or two. I usually print and both print out on page. Sometimes I see only the image print. Sometimes only the text. I often see line between them. Can someone please tell me what going on so I can understand this thoroughly? I always have print pictures set in print box.  - Entourage won't start..Please help I'm trying to open Entourage and it just won't open. The "E" in the dock bounces twice then nothing. Word opens fine. Yesterday I did a software update.I have 10.4.8. I tried reinstalling Entourage but still won't open. Tried opening in Safe Mode too. No luck. Have not tried reinstalling OSX yet. Here are the events that lead up to this-- 1) Did software update. 2) Installed Powerpoint from disk to view a document. After install "PP" would not open. Just got the warning "The application PowerPoint shut down unexpectedly....etc, etc" 3) Installed "TonicPoint Viewer" to view PP document. 4)Tried to open Entourage. Entourage won't open. 5) Reinstalled Entourage from disk. The "rebuild your database" didn't work because Entourage wouldn't launch. I have also backed up the "Microsoft user data" folder to a cd. Someone at Apple forums suggested to run "sudo update_prebinding - root / -force" in Terminal. I don't know what that is so I'm a little hesitant. I'm sure it couldn't hurt but I have never dealt with "Terminal." I just purchased Office:MAC 2004 but have not opened it. Will installing that take care of the problem?  - Erase old calendar events In options I have set calendar events older than 12 months to be erased. But events back in 2002 are still kept!  - Uninstalled Office 2004 - My Entourage Main Identity There, But on Opening Defaults to New Identity I had to reinstall Microsoft Office 2004. I am running the brand new top of the range MacBook Pro. After the reinstall, when I started up Entourage it came up as a new Entourage account, and won't recognize my real Main Identity. I can see it in the Microsoft User Data file, it has 2G of data. But when I either click on the Entorage application, try to open it thru the menu, or ckick on the main identity data itself, it defaults straight to a new account. I have also tried importing the data into the new account, but when I get to the file, ther data shows up as there, but is masked out so you can't select it to import. Help???!!!!!  - Exchange Server Problem I experience an error-"Could not synchronize record:Test to Exchange server:"account name" #18500. I have configured Entourage and the Calendar is updating.  - Addresses Disappearing This past week, my entire database disappeared from Entourage. I had not done anything, in fact, it happened overnight. I then did a sync with my phone, in the hopes to get everything back and it, of course, erased everything from my phone! This seems to be the second time this has happened.  - THE APPLICATION ENTOURAGE HAS UNEXPECTEDLY QUIT. Mac. OS X Version 10.2.8 Entourage : mac v.X - Version 10.1.6 [040913] - Service Release 1 I think I have isolated the problem, but I am unable to effect a cure! Entourage will quit Every Time when I attempt to open an e-mail which Contains Graphics. It downloads the header fine but if I attempt to open it, Entourage tries, the rolling beach-ball appears for a time, and then ................ zap! The problem does not apply with graphics received as attachments, and / or embedded in personal e-mails, but those e-mails received from the likes of eBay containing HTML. EG Bid Confirmations. If I Deselect - HTML - Display complex HTML in message - I can read the message, but of course, I get no Graphics, just links. If I click a link, Netscape [Default Browser] will open and display the page just fine! The relevant, e-mail address / addresses, is / are, in the Address Book. The Junk Mail Filter is Disabled. Mailing List Manager is Empty. The are No Rules Set. There are No Schedules set. This problem only occurs with Entourage and not with either Netscape [Mail & Newsgroups] or [Apple] Mail!  - Help -- Lost all calendar function Hi, I'm running Office v.X on a PPC 17' iMac running OS 10.4.8. My calendar functions in Entourage have been getting a bit dodgy over the past two weeks, with my not being able to access months beyond the current month. Then today I lost all calendar function completely. When I try to click on my calendar icon from wtihin Entourage I get a dialog saying "Could not open that feature. Mail error." Upon clicking OK, that dialog box shows again one or two more times. I then cannot get back to the mail pane directly by clicking on it. If I click on the address book, I can get to that and then from there get back to mail. Can anybody suggest any ways to fix this? I've tried running some general disk diagnostics and fixes (Disk Utility, Repair Permissions, Repair Disk, and TechTool Pro) but without success. easily set up to accept e-mail from @msn.com account. Last few days
no longer receiving e-mail. Getting a -50 error message.

Errors close in number often have similar solutions. Error -51 indicates
drive problems.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
If it's your User's folder that contains the problem.
