 - Cannot receive e-mail For the last two days I haven't been able to receive e-mail using Entourage. Entourage worked fine for over a year prior to this, but now whenever I try to receive e-mail I get an error message that says "A connection failure has occurred. Error -3260."  - Entourage 2004 - Delegation problem I have set all delegate and folder permissions using Outlook 2003 but in Entourage all I see is the other users Inbox listed. I do not see any subfolders or Sent Items folder. With one user this has always been the case. With another this has happened since performing a database rebuild. Has any one seeen this before - hoping to avoid reinstalling Office! OSX is fully patched Tiger and Office is fully patched 2004. Any pointers much appreciated. Thanks, Guy.  - Entourage 2004 Temp Folder full of huge files I have a user who reported that Entourage was stalling and a Disk Full error was being displayed. On investigation I found that the Documents\MUD\Entourage Temp\ directory was full of 350Meg files amounting to over 5gig. Has anyone else had this???  - Help with privacy options Is there anyway to bypass the "to protect your privacy, some pictures in this message were not downloaded... download pictures...." I just want to open the email and have the pictures downloaded... It gets very old having to click everytime on that icon when i want to see all the pictures. What can I do about this?  - PERMANENTLY DELETE JUNK IN ENTOURAGE I have certain rules in the junk filter that makes some messages obvious junk. I have set up the filter to delete theese mails. if I understand this correctly this should permanently delete them. However they are only moved to the trash can. The same happens when I use the trash icon on the menu bar. To permanently delete a mail would be an obvious nice thing as I see no reason to have to first move a junk mail from the junk mail folder and then delete them in the trash folder. Any suggestions?  - Shared calendars mixing with personal calendars Subject: Shared calendars mixing with personal calendars In a small office without an exchange server, we're using shared calendars from the project center to schedule conference rooms, studio schedules, production schedules, etc. I sync my palm pilot to entourage, but I don't want all of the shared schedules in my palm (conf room schedules, etc). Is there a way to have Entourage NOT copy the shared "appointments" into my personal calendar, so they won't sync to my palm? I want to see the appointments when I'm connected to the server (in the office), but I don't want the "public" appointments copied into my "personal" calendar.  - Database damaged daily. . . this started at the beginning of this week. Have been using Entourage for about 5 yrs, most recently 04, and I keep getting the quit. I have rebuilt and then the same thing a day or so later. Any ideas? I use my email program to organize a massive amount of email, so I'm more inclined to switch email programs if it's anything terribly complicated.  - Attachment File Names changing Version: Entourage 2004 Version 11.1.0 Original Filename: CIM 18' wide axle view 7-20-05.pdf The file is attached, sent, and received the filename is then: CIM 18' wide axle view #AD13E.pdf We have used this same type of file names in literally 1000's of drawings, all of which were sent at one time or another via email. A few days ago PDF (Version 6) and XLS (Excel 2004 Version 11.1.1) attachment's filenames were being changed. Some of the filenames changed didn't have dashes or other characters, just letters and/or numbers. All less than 31 characters including spaces. I saw another posting talking about maximum character length supported by Entourage was 31. Any ideas as to why this is happening and what to do to change fix it?  - Entourage trime zone issue Hello, I am using OS 10.3.9 and have Entourage 2004 (11.1.0). Both have the correct Time Zone selected (Auckland, Wellington for NZST) however I am experiencing a one-hour discrepancy similar to other users I have read about in this group. I have adjusted time-zone settings etc. but the problem remains. There appears to be no way of adjusting things for daylight savings. I am synchronizing with a Pocket PC using PocketMac. The calendar times between the Mac and Pocket PC line up perfectly when using iCal but the one hour difference always occurs when I use Entourage.  - Entourage and Exchange time zone issue Based in Los Angeles, our organizations uses Mac O/S X 10.4.2 laptops with Entourage 11.1.0 and also Windows XP with Outlook 2003. We started using an Exchange server that was based on the East Coast (EST) . The Windows machines had no problem with the time zone, but the Mac with Entourage had all the appointments that were created on PST, show the servers time instead of the PST Time zone. (Example - if I was to make an appointment for myself for 3pm on a windows Office 2003 then sync with exchange, and sync with a Mac and Entourage, the appointment would show as a 6pm appointment.  - treo 600 syncing with entourage 2004 I am having trouble gettine my Treo 600 to sync with Entourage 2004-I have not previously had Entourage X installed. When I try to install the Handheld Sync Conduit for Entourage X it fails to load because of error: Microsoft component plugin missing. I know from other posts that 04 and Treo do not talk well together but that most people are able to get some syncing. Can anyone help with my problem? Thank you.  - List all contacts in Directory Services I am running entourage 2004 with kerio 6.0.10 as a enterprise mail solution. Is it possible using the directory services part of entourage to view all of the contacts in every contact folder you have permission to view? For instance if i want to veiw all of my contacts useing apple addressbook i would just type an asterisk in the search field and it would return all entries.  - Entourage munging outbound SMTP addresses Customer has an Entourage client (I'm waiting on the version number but I suspect X). Set up as a POP3 client, sending SMTP against an Exchange 2003 server. Whenever it sends, it munges the recipient address in the SMTP conversation's RCPT TO: line by prepending a 25/ to it. Below this message are two conversations from Exchange SMTP logs that show the behavior. Obviously the mail will bounce as 25/recipient@domain.com isn't the real address. The address book entries are fine, and the string 25/ is prepended even on reply and reply-all messages. I'll get more info, and have the customer rebuild the profile in a little while, but I'm curious to see whether anyone's seen this behavior before, and if not at least get it out there for archival purposes.  - HELP!!! any way to test the Exchange system and mailboxes Is there any way to check (verify/repair) Exchange mailboxes?? I have a user who's mail and appointment probelms Deleted items are EMPTY (obviosly no one has deleted them!!) The mail box has 7300 entries... (520mb) Entourage dosen't seem to have any archiving options like Outlook2003 Can check / repair be done from the server this be done from the Server - (RDP session as the server is 50 miles away!) I'm used to looking after Groupwise systems.... But although I supported this site for a year - no real problems a new guy insists on a couple of MAC's and its a pain!!!  - connecting users of entourage to exchange server We have set up a new exchange server. Our Mac users use entourage 2004 as their e-mail client. They were set up and receiving mail with no problems from our old e-mail server. When we moved their mailboxes to the new exchange server they could no longer get messages. I thought that I just needed to manually configure them to point to the new exchange server. But after I did this an error message came up that said that entourage could not find the exchange server. I tried using the exchnge server's IP address. WHile I believe that entourage found the server it came back with an access denied error. How do I need to configure entourage to see the new exchange server and operate properly. Do I need to set up a new e-mail account in entourage or can I do something else. Thanks for your response.  - Exactly how does the From Contains search work? Using Entourage 2004. I daily do a search in my Sent and Deleted Items folder, using the To/From Contains field in the upper right corner. Works great, except for emails that have multiple addresses, or groups. Is there any way to set up Entourage so that if I do a search for email sent to Tom Smith (in the Sent folder), *all* the emails sent to him will show up, including the ones where he's a part of a Group I've set up, as well emails sent to multiple people, including Tom.  - PST Import Tool and Microsoft stupidity A while ago I (along with thousands of other people) read the announcement that Microsoft was going to release a .PST import tool for Entourage 2004. I along with I suspect thousands of other people rejoiced, believing that AT LAST Microsoft had listened to YEARS of requests for such a tool (although ideally exporting as .PST would have been possible as well). Until this week I had no need to use this tool and merely had noted its availability ready for such a need. Today I come to try and use it and discover that it will only import from Outlook 2001 for Mac AND WILL NOT IMPORT FROM OUTLOOK FOR WINDOWS!!! ARGGGHHHHHH!!!!! How utterly, utterly, UTTERLY stupid can you get. Microsoft you miserable idiots we wanted and still want this utility to import .PST files sent us by PC users!!! As a result of this mind numbingly stupid decision we are still no further forward. As a further result it is now infinitely LESS likely that I will migrate our company to using an Exchange server (since Microsoft still cannot provide compatibility between their OWN products). Not only does Entourage 2004 still suck as an Exchange client (less so, admittedly than Entourage v.X) but it still cannot exchange .PST files with PC Outlook users!!!  - a few random questions from an inexpert user of entourage 2004 / osx 10.3 hi i am not a very expert user of edntourage and some things have been bugging me for months. i cannot find answers in the MS help window. perhaps someone out there can give me hand? thanks; 1 - if i have the folder view window open in mail, then the left hand columns "hide views" is open in calendar, making it more difficult to use my calendar (it shrinks the size of everything). can i fix this in some preference folder so that mail always shows folder views and calendar does not? 2 - in the address book function, all the names are listed by both first name and last name, so that alex smith is followed by alex jones and then dave smithson. how do i keep the address book sorted by last name? this doesn't seem to be an option. 3 - the "recently used addresses" is really really irritating. occasionaly a recently used address will NOT pop up, but one stripped from an email i may have received two years ago will pop up. is there any way to set this feature to work like an "autocomplete" - the way it worked in the version of eudora i had on my OS9 mac? that used autocomplete from my entire address book; 4 - on a similar theme, when i click on a return address to add it to the address book, entourage doesn;t seem to recognize the common convention of "last name, first name" and absorbs the sender as though the last name AND THE COMMA! were the first name. not a big thing, but still pretty irritating. 5 - most of the time, outlook will NOT download "pictures" requiring me to make an extra click to get the images in an email. again, i can't find a preference or setting to fix this. it says "for privacy" reasons it will not download the graphics. 6 - i have downloaded some scripts to fix earlier problems that you helpful souls have counseled me with. but i can;t figure out where to put the scripts to get them into the program. again i probably am overlooking some simple solution, but what do i do? thanks! 7 - this is a big one - switching between the mail and address book functions sometimes stalls my compputer for a full minute. i have already rebuilt the database and rebooted the program andthat doesn't help.. 8 - here's an interesting one. in my misspent youth, when i strayed from the path of mac and used a PC, i bought a cardscan brand business card reader. totallly awesome machine, exccept they are not even interested in developing mac software for it. it is really a twain compliant scanner. so two questions: 1 - is there some kind of scanner software i could use with it? 2 - does anyone know how to export the card scan contacts into a file that i could then import into entourage? thanks a lot and sorry for allt he qeustions, but i'll forward the answers to micorsoft and maybe they'll fix them or answer them in the next entoruage update. - Peter Tag: entourage address book Tag: 55627

 - a few random questions from an inexpert user of entourage 2004 / osx 10.3 hi i am not a very expert user of edntourage and some things have been bugging me for months. i cannot find answers in the MS help window. perhaps someone out there can give me hand? thanks; 1 - if i have the folder view window open in mail, then the left hand columns "hide views" is open in calendar, making it more difficult to use my calendar (it shrinks the size of everything). can i fix this in some preference folder so that mail always shows folder views and calendar does not? 2 - in the address book function, all the names are listed by both first name and last name, so that alex smith is followed by alex jones and then dave smithson. how do i keep the address book sorted by last name? this doesn't seem to be an option. 3 - the "recently used addresses" is really really irritating. occasionaly a recently used address will NOT pop up, but one stripped from an email i may have received two years ago will pop up. is there any way to set this feature to work like an "autocomplete" - the way it worked in the version of eudora i had on my OS9 mac? that used autocomplete from my entire address book; 4 - on a similar theme, when i click on a return address to add it to the address book, entourage doesn;t seem to recognize the common convention of "last name, first name" and absorbs the sender as though the last name AND THE COMMA! were the first name. not a big thing, but still pretty irritating. 5 - most of the time, outlook will NOT download "pictures" requiring me to make an extra click to get the images in an email. again, i can't find a preference or setting to fix this. it says "for privacy" reasons it will not download the graphics. 6 - i have downloaded some scripts to fix earlier problems that you helpful souls have counseled me with. but i can;t figure out where to put the scripts to get them into the program. again i probably am overlooking some simple solution, but what do i do? thanks! 7 - this is a big one - switching between the mail and address book functions sometimes stalls my compputer for a full minute. i have already rebuilt the database and rebooted the program andthat doesn't help.. 8 - here's an interesting one. in my misspent youth, when i strayed from the path of mac and used a PC, i bought a cardscan brand business card reader. totallly awesome machine, exccept they are not even interested in developing mac software for it. it is really a twain compliant scanner. so two questions: 1 - is there some kind of scanner software i could use with it? 2 - does anyone know how to export the card scan contacts into a file that i could then import into entourage? thanks a lot and sorry for allt he qeustions, but i'll forward the answers to micorsoft and maybe they'll fix them or answer them in the next entoruage update. - Peter Tag: entourage address book Tag: 55626

 - ENTOURAGE IN TIGER IS AWFUL My friends on MAC are having the same problem as I am having: the random and FREQUENT spinning ball that appears whenever I do the most simple of tasks using Entourage on Tiger OS. Whether it's writing an email, switching to calendar, deleting email, creating a new mail document, attaching a file, whatever - the spinning ball appears for up to 20 or 30 seconds, thereby preventing me from getting work efficiently done. I've seen hack email software perform better than this!! One would think that Microsoft, with 30+BILLION in cash, would assign a team of engineers to fix this problem, and pronto.
