    - Categories Colors Somehow I've lost the color's on Categories both on the main menu bar and on right click menu when you highlight an appointment. All I get are the words (e.g.None, Family, Friends, etc.) But no color. I did change the color of the highlight in System Preferences Ab so I could see the curson in Excel clearer but I don't think that would cause the colors on this menu to go away. Any ideas?     - Appintments not showing the correct time in Entourage 2008 I set appointments with the correct times but when saved, they always show a difference of +30 minutes in the calendar view even though opening the appointment again shows correct times.     - Entourage 2008 crashes on calendar view When going to the calendar view from shortcuts, Entourage crashes.     - Deleted Account I recently purchased a Mac Book Pro and installed Office:Mac 2008 home and student. I transferred all of my files, emails and contacts over to entourage and used it successfully for three days. I was able to search, receive and send mail with no problem. This evening I opened the program and it was all gone. No account settings, no files, no emails, nothing. As if I opened it for the first time. Ugh! Any way to retrieve the files?     - How does Entourage sync with 10.4 iCal and Address Book? Hi all I'm thinking on switching from Apple Mail / iCal to Entourage 2008. One critical issue is syncing with my Nokia E50. For this, of course, the syncing with Tiger iCal and AddressBook must work well. From the posts, I gather that syncing with Leopoard iCal and Address Book is not yet working well. What's the situation with Tiger iCal and AddressBook? But, also, how exactly does the calender syncing work? As I understand it iCal uses separate calendars and Entourage 2008 uses 1 calendar with different categories.     - Entourage Emergency - Help! My incoming mail Has anyone experienced this before? Research has found little about a virus that would attack my Mac, but I was informed that this could be "spoofing" and that it will go away on its own. Unfortunately, NOW, instead of just placing my incoming SPAM messages into my Outbox (awaiting an "addressee"), NOW it's taking some of my Incoming messages and just dumping them in my Outbox. And to top it off, it reads that I'm the one who sent these emails. I had a Geek Squad guy out here for a few hours - he found nothing wrong with my Entourage settings, internet security, etc. Yet, it's become scary because I could potentially miss an important email because it somehow landed in my outbox with 1,000 spam messages instead of my inbox where it belongs. And when I dragged and dropped my "outbox mail (that was actually incoming mail) into my Inbox to "put it where it belonged," the headers are bolded, as if I haven't read them -- despite my reading them.     - Simple? Just moved to Entourage from Apple I am a long term user of Outlook at work, and like the fact that Entourage seems to "feel" like a home user's version. Just enough to make me comfortable. I have imported all my Apple mail info, no problem, and Entourage seems to be working fine, including being the default. BUT...     - Restoring Entourage database I have a PowerBook 15" G4 running Entourage 2004. I recently got a Blackberry Pearl that I have been synchronising with my Mac using the PocketMac Synch Manager. When synching it has been bringing up reminders of meetings that occurred up to 3 years ago and asking me what to do. As I thought it was only the reminder for these meetings I have been selecting "Delete from Mac" from the options available. Today I had to check details of a meeting last year and found that all Calendar events have been deleted from Entourage prior to January this year. I've been backing up to an external drive and found a copy of the Entourage database from December 2007. I've transferred this Database to my hard drive, but can't work out how to restore the database from this file. When I hold down Option and start Entourage I only get options to rebuild the database from the Main Identity backed up today. Other identities that I can see give me an error message that "There is no such disk". Can anyone tell me how I can get Entourage to load the old database file to Entourage? If the rebuild overwrites the current data I assume I can then Synch again from my Blackberry to get meetings since December... Any assistance much appreciated!     - Entourage Frustration In my humble opinion, one of the worst features in Entourage is the fact that when you delete an email message it automatically goes to the next (newer) message. When I used Outlook and had my emails sorted form newest to oldest I would simply start at the top and it would automatically move down the list. Is there a way to make Entourage 2008 work the same?     - Sounds Bug I just found out Sounds are broken in Apple Mail application too with Leopard. One of the fixes they gave was to use Growl, however I haven't tried this with Entourage. Thought I would put this out there to see if any of you sound and script gurus could come up with something workable. <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1199018&tstart=250> 1. In the Applications tab in the Growl preference pane, you'll see one called "New Mail Rule" 4. Click on it and select "Configure" 5. Then you'll see the "Play Sound" drop down box. Pick your favorite mail sound. And that's all there is to it. Not only does this get Growl working with Leopard, but it also gives you your new mail sound back. They also mentioned the Play Sound script used in a Rule as I have mentioned before.     - Address Book View I'm new to Entourage (using 2008) and would like to be able to view my address book entries as business cards like I did with Outlook. Is this possible?     - Meeting Invitations to iCal Users I've had different results inviting others to a meeting. Invitation recipients who are Outlook users get the invitation and can reply just fine. Recipients who are iCal users (as in Mac's iCal program which complies with the industry standard iCal forum) get an email that has the details of the meeting embedded into it but do not have the ability to add it to their calendar or accept/decline the email.     - Seeing more hours in the day in Calendar view Okay, so this one has to be simple and I'm missing it. How do I change the number of hours in a day that I can see in a fixed-height window size in week view in the calendar. I'm currently seeing about 8 hours of a day at a time and I'd like to see between 12 - 16 hours in that window. Where is the preference or the key/mouse combination that would allow me to do this?     - Trouble sending attachments Hello: I've got version 12.0.0. and have a few problems. (1) Can't send attachments, even though I've been everywhere looking for help within Preferences, Settings, etc. etc. Everything seems set up to do so. When I try to send an email with an attachment like a document, it eventually goes to my "drafts" folder, and never gets sent. I go back a day or two later, and the same thing happens again when I try to send. I've sent pictures with no problems. I'm using Leopard if that helps.     - Long Delays in Sending Messages Hi -- I'm running Entourage 10.1 (2006) on a MacBook with OS 10.5.1. I have this set up with a yahoo account. Lately I've been having problems sending messages. They leave the outbox immediately, and show up in the sent items folder right away, but they aren't delivered for 5 or 6 hours. If I log on to the yahoo account on the internet and send a message through that site, it is delivered (and received through Entourage) right away.     - Office 2008 fonts sizes are a mess... is anyone else experiencing completely wrong font sizes? does anyone know what units they are attempting to present fonts in?size 11 is non-existent, and teh prefs allow a size 7, but the compose window doesn't... any thoughts on what is happening here? i haven't even gotten to a point where I'd install new fonts on this brand new computer...     - Awful default fonts in Entourage 2008 Hi I have a new iMac 24" - just moved from PC. Can anyone help me with these questions? 1) the default fonts for the list of email in my inbox, the headings of the columns the list of mailboxes etc etc. is just awful and appears blurry with a shadow like effect behind it. How can I change these to more readable and clearer fonts? 2) I want my inbox list to show the columns FROM, TO, SUBJECT, DATE RECEIVED, ATTACHMENT, FLAGGED etc - how do I do this? G-4 iBook MS Office 2008 Was going from MS Office 2004 to MS Office 2008 and everything was fine until I went into Entourage Preferences and tried to transfer my address book by using the Sync, what a mistake that was.     - prefs chaos Ok, with all my other issues today, I see that there are a bazillion MS prefs in my user Library folder. What I have: In Preferences: 18 com.microsoft plist files in preferences: one microsoft folder with 29 plist, custom dictionary, font caches etc.. Also, an office 2008 folder with 15 more items inside! It is hard to judge by the dates on these files, but I am willing to guess that I could trash all, but leave the preferences/microsoft/microsoft 2008/(15 items) and all would be OK. True?     - mbox files Due to another issue, I was trying to save mbox files by dragging the folders (with subfolders) from entourage onto the desktop.     - Calendar Sync with Exchange 2003 As with 2004, I am able to interact with our Exchange Server 2003 for Mail, LDAP, and GAL. I am also able open another user's calendar in the GAL and view it with no problem. So, given all of that, it makes no sense that when I create a new calendar event, invite others in the GAL (which it finds fine), then look at "Scheduling", not only does it not see the schedule for those I have invited, it doesn't even display MY SCHEDULE!     - entourage stops syncing with exchange server After using entourage 2008 successfully since it came out several weeks ago, yesterday evening I noticed i was not getting any mail (I usually get around 60 - 80 a day). Today it did not pull anything from exchange - big issue! Heres what I have tried: 1. I have a PC, which also has the same user account. Opened outlook, and it updated - sure enough, about 40 emails. 2. on the mac (macbookpro, 10.4.11 and all updates) I have a second admin account. created the same entourage account as a test, and sure enough, it synced and had all the new mail. Went back to the original account - no joy. 3. turned off the automatic password for the account - no difference. 4. trashed the prefs (althought there seems to be far too many, probably from 2004) and still no difference. 5. calender events do sync - calendar invites that I received on Outlook today (that I cannot see in entourage mail items) are visible in entourage calendar. 6. I also sent an email from the PC, and that does show up in my sent items in Entourage! But still no mail since yesterday in my entourage inbox!!! 6.     - Unable to rebuild database...What do I do next? I am running Entourage X on an iMac G4. In the middle of using email it crashed. It said to rebuild the database. Using Mark/Space to sync PDA, but issues appear to be between iCal & Entourage. Not all of Entourage birthdays display, but show up in iCal (Entourage contact birthday correct).     - Rnd Rx into Drafts?? I have a user who started receiving his corp. Exchange email into both his local (Foldes on My Computer) Inbox and his IMAP Inbox. It seemed that this was divided between mail received from inside and outside the company, respectively. Now, email is being received into his Drafts folder as well. There are no rules in place and I've deleted his old database file and created a new one. His account was recreated and re-sync'd. The problem persists and appears to be getting worse. We just started a test to see if Office 2008 is good enough to help us in the daily business. And right away I have a question: If I try "Open other USers folder" I just can choose the Inbox.     - Calendar shift problem In Month View, if you change the first day of the week to another day (Preferences>Calendar>First Day of Week), the dates all shift but the appointments remain in the original columns; that is, ALL appointments will be moved to an other day! My Entourage icon keeps popping up and down in the dock, and you would think that there would be some kind of error message or SOMETHING indicating why this is happening, but once you click on it, it stops..and that's it.     - Printing email messages Hi all I'm new to Mac and Entourage, another recent convert from the PC. Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I've tried everything with no success. When I print email messages the header lines (Subject, Date From etc.) appear in very large type and take up loads of room. Also there's no indication that the message contained one or more attachments. I would like to see al my tasks in the calendar sheets instead of seeing them in the seperate task sheet. is this possible? the big plus is seeing the time needed for finalzing a task directly in the calendar (highlighted in color) and would enable me to decide better when I have time for meetings.     - Can you revert to 2004 by exporting and importing? Like some others here, I have been very frustrated by the difficulties of syncing Entourage 2008 with a Palm device. In addition I have been experiencing instability with Office 2008 that I never had with 2004, with multiple hangs when I attempt to execute formatting or font changes in Word. I don't have time to work through these issues, so I have decided to return to Office 2004, which always worked well for me, and which allowed easy synchronization with my Palm device. I understand that the main obstacle in the way of reverting from 2008 to the 2004 version is that 2008 has introduced a new database format and, while it includes a conversion program to convert from the 2004 format into the 2008 format, the process cannot be run in reverse. I would like to know if one could achieve the same result (backward conversion of the database) by first exporting the 2008 data into a neutral format and then reinstalling 2004 and finally importing the previously exported data back into 2004. Every few days and for no apparent reason sync services pops up and says there are several conflicts with Entourage and do I want to resolve them. I say yes...

I have made no changes since the last time this happened.

Why does it do it or is it a bug?

It shouldn't happen. You might want to take a look in Console.app
(/Applications/Utilities) to see if there is anything relevant, but it
could very well be a bug if you are running Office 2008 (you didn't tell
us),
