Can you change the telephone number auto-format styles?

Is there any way of changing the auto-format styles in Entourage? The
options built in are not suitable for what I need.

You did look in the 'Address Book' section of the Entourage preferences,
didn't you?

There is the ability to set the format or prevent auto-format entirely in
there.

Hi Barry,

I have selected the the auto format in the Address Book section of
Preferences, however, mine never auto-format. On my office PC, when
creating a new contact, I just type in the 10 digit phone number and
when I move to the next block, the number formats itself. That doesn't
happen here, its like I don't have anything selected at all. Is there
an additional setting I'm supposed to use that I may be missing here?

What I want to do is change the auto-formats that are inbuilt to the program
and define my own in their place. I want "(12) 3456 7890" and "1234 567 890"
as formats. I can do this in Apple Mail and want to do the same in
Entourage.

Sorry, I mis-understood you.

No, those formats are fixed - you can't change them :(

You can send feedback to the developers on this issue. Use the last menu
item under the 'Help' menu - "Send Feedback on Entourage". This message will
go directly to the developers. The more people that request this feature the
more likely it is to be implemented.
