 - The most brutal Exchange client I can't believe that this is Microsoft's answer for connecting Mac OS X to an Exchange server. Working with an Exchange server in Entourage is painful with frequent crashes, slow performance, reduced functionality and numerous problems with calendar syncronization. The fact that I am considering going back to using Outlook in classic mode is brutal! Do we have an ETA for a real solution - and not this piece of junk.  - Is there a default for the Pop-up "filter" menu? AppleScript When viewing the InBox folder, I would like the pop-up "filter" menu to default to From. Only seems logical. Accordingly, when in the Sent Items, Drafts or OutBox, I would like it to default to To. (I'm the only person sending mail here, so how often would I want to filter my Sent Items to show messages From. Uh, that would be all messages sent! If there is a way for the user to set a default for each box -- that would be the best! Is there an AppleScript solution. In other words, can ascript get triggered by opening a folder?  - How do I adjust the word wrap parameter? Entourage wraps the text of none-HTML messages. I'd like to lessen the number of characters per line, so there's less problems as the message accumulates indented responses.  - Re Show on Map / Driving Instructions for UK?? My problem is that I live in the UK and most of my addresses are for the UK. When I click to "Show on map" Entourage passes the address to Expedia.com which assumes that the address is in the US. This is also true for the driving instructions.  - IMAP and filing Can someone please advise the best way to file emails when using IMAP. A colleague files all her emails and have over 30 folders.  - Odd error message When I open Entourage, and click on the "Send/Recieve" button, I get an error message that says, "The action cannot be completed. The file cannot be found." Jinkies. I ran a repair on my disk permissions, downloaded and installed MS Office Updates 10.1.2, 10.1.4, and 10.1.5, and... it still does the same thing. Thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.  - Entourage quits This is the second time this has happened, and I'm not sure how to fix it. Entourage will display a mail file as though it is blank with a bunch of horizontal lines. When I get this and try to click on this message, the program unexpectantly quits. Now, it actually quits almost immediately opening.  - Entourage refuses to recognize saved data in Microsoft User Data folder. Hi all, I just recently had to reformat the HD. I copied everything over to an=20 external drive, including the document folder and the applications=20 folder. I reformatted the drive, then copied everything back. Problem=20 is, Entourage acts like it's a new install and doesn't find the saved = data=20 in the Microsoft User Data folder. =20 How can I get Entourage to communicate with my saved email, address=20 book, calendar, etc. I've saved all the data, but just can't get = Entourage=20 to recognize it. =20 I have followed the instructions on MS Knowledge Base Article -=20 297273, which seems to be applicable to my situation, but it's not=20 working.  - animated gifs I receive my e-mails showing both photos and MPEG movies, but the animated gifs are still. Is this something I can address in the preferences.  - Entourage/Exchange FAQs Does Microsoft have any official FAQs regarding Entourage connectivity to an Exchange server? We currently use Outlook and our IT group is suspicious of Entourage because a) it's not Outlook and b) the set up process for connecting to Exchange isn't automatic like Outlook.  - HTML mail Hi I am using latest versions of both Entourage and OS X. Two problems when working with HTML mail: When I receive HTML mail I am not able to forward the message as it loses all its HTML formatting. Is it possible to forward HTML mail without it losing its formatting. Also: graphics embedded into HTML mail appear as generic icons, and not as graphics, is there any way to fix this?  - Certificate error with upgrade I updated office and thus Entourage to 10.1.4. Ever since then, I have a multitude of certificate errors. Entourage will now tells me that "It is unable to get a secure connection to that server" This is new. I had not had much problems with this prior to the upgrade. The other issue is that every time I send with an SSL account it asks for my certificate password. Strange and annoying. Can anyone tell me how to avoided this without ignoring the warning.  - Syncing PocketPC with Entourage I would like to sync my Dell Axim X5 (PPC 2002) with Entourage for calendar, contact and task items, and also have file synchronization so that I can edit small documents on my Mac using Office v.X, on the PPC or on the Windows PC at work where I sync with MS Active Sync. I tired PocketMac but it has been a miserable experience. Are there any other products that will do the synchronization?  - Entourage data on an external drive? I want to carry my email (historical email and attachements) on my external Firewire drive. I don't want to sync it, I want to carry the information with me (I carry all my work files on a 2.5" FW400 drive). Is there any way I can do this? I was thinking about using aliases or creating a new identity and storing that on the external drive, but the solution I want would be clean, transparent and require no input from me - not that I'm asking too much ;) Any suggestions?  - Entourage: TASKS My last address book (Act!) had a simple scheduling system: Calls, Meetings & To dos. If you needed to schedule any of these all you had to do is go to the contact name, select CALL, input "date" and "regarding" and you just scheduled a call to a contact. Then when you look at a certain date you could easily see how many calls, meetings and todos you had for that date. In Entourage there are EVENTS and TASKS. My question is: How do I schedule calls, meetings & to dos and A: be able to distinguish them, B: relate them to a contact.  - Rebuilding Database Failed Hello, I am trying to re-build my entourage database. However after a few minutes, I get an error: "Rebuilding Failed. The end of the file was reached." After trying to rebuild again, I get the following, :"Rebuilding Failed. It is likely that your database can not be repaired".  - invite calendar event I use Entourage and my husband uses Office XP, sometimes I add calendar events for my husband to attend and on his Windows Outlook sometimes it will have the event added to his calendar and sometimes it won't. When it does work an attachment file is with the email that Outlook understands.  - End of File Reached in Entourage Hello, Recently, I have encountered an "End of file reached" alert which does not allow me to send (or receive) any file with more than 300k attachment. I use Entourage and have narrowed it to the "database" and "messages" file in the Identity folder. If I delete these file I can send and receive just fine, except that I lose all my old message. I tried importing old messages from Outlook Express to Entourage with a new identity and that works fine. Does anyone know how I can try exporting the Entourage files to OE? It appears that the more messages you have in your inbox or sent box, the more sluggish the program is at reacting to commands, e.g. clicking the To: field. When I am composing a new message, in the To: field I enter the first letter of the recipient's name and I get a list of recently used addresses that pops up. These addresses are not in my address book. I have looked under Preferences but I haven't seen anywhere I can deselect this option. Can someone help or is this just something I have to live with?  - Entourage and Exchange / Calendar Hi there- I've finally gotten Entourage to synch with my Exchange calendar. However, in order to get it working, I had to set my "E-mail Address" to: username@ad.company.com If I set this to my actual email address (First_Last@company.com), it does not work. This email address is listed as an SMTP address on the Exchange server. Actually, both are listed, but this one is my default. Any ideas as to why this might not be working with my "proper" email?  - Entourage truncates display of HTML email (source is complete) Entourage occasionally truncates the display of an HTML formatted message. When I "View Source", the rest of the document is there. If I cut and paste the HTML from the source, into Dreamweaver and then view it in Safari, the whole message appears. Other times, whole HTML messages appear blank, until I "View Source". This happens so often that it is beginning to become a serious problem, due to the time it takes to get these messages into a readable format in a browser window. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? If not, can anyone suggest a better email program - preferably one that displays HTML email properly, doesn't forget how to use the custom dictionary and works seamlessly with SpamSieve?  - Can't add word to custom dictionary in Entourage About 80% of the time, I can't add a "good" word to my Entourage (shared) custom dictionary. In fact, Entourage doesn't recognize words that I added when the spell checker was working properly. The only thing that I have found that will fix it is to restart Entourage, which is most often, entirely unacceptable, as I usually have multiple windows open at the same time, that I would have to close. Besides, restarting the program every half hour is a Windows fix, not a Mac fix. I can only compose 2 or 3 emails after start up, before Entourage forgets how to add a word to the custom dictionary. Here are the conditions: There is only ONE custom dictionary (shared) available in both Word and Entourage. Language of the custom dictionary is "none". Location of custom dictionary is the same in both programs (checked at time of failure). Primary (not custom) dictionary is "US English". At time of Entourage failure, I can open a document in Word and add to the custom dictionary. New install of Office X and OS X (neither is an upgrade).  - Microsoft component plug-in? I want to Syncronize my Palm with Entourage. For that I downloaded the Sync conduit for it.  - Which Outbox should Entourage use? I'm trying to send mail from my Exchange Account, and when I send it, the message is going to the Outbox for my SMTP account (which is the Outbox under On My Computer) instead of the outbox under my Exchange Account. This hasn't been a problem until today as we had to change some settings on our Exchange Server to stop people relaying through the server.  - Error in Event time zone synchronization Using Entourage 10.1.5 Calendar on Mac OS X 10.2.6, created Events appear on Calendar at a differerent time zone than specifed in Entourage:General Preferences:Calendar:Time zones, or Calendar:Event:Time zone, or Mac OS:SystemPrefs:Date & Time:Time Zones.  - Entourage Conduit I have installed 10.1.5 and 10.1.4 Conduit to sync with a palm tugsten T. Hotsync was working before I upgraded but now the Entourage Conduit quits just after starting. It appears to delete all Address info but adds nothing. I have rebuilt the Entourage database, repaired file permissions and rebooted.  - What is quick way to resend? What is the easiest way to resend an e mail you have already sent out? Sometimes you just want to add a PS note. I go to send folder and find the send e mail, and hit reply again, then it goes back to me. And unfortunately, I don't see "resend " button in Entourage. Did there used to be one? Maybe that was outlook. I seem to remember that. Right now, I cut and paste the e mail address of person I just send to and hit forward, it's real cumbersome. Thanks! That's because the LDAP servers included by default with Entourage are no
longer in business. Please see the Entourage Help Page to resolve the
problem:
