 - LDAP Settings (Entourage 2004) My IT Department gave me the LDAP search terms in the form of a URL. e.g. company.com/City/Department When I set my Search Base to: dc=company,dc=com I get an empty search result when I search with my first name. I've tried a myriad of other combinations cn=people,dc=company,dc=com <- Error -17758 dc=company,dc=com,l=City <- Error -17799 I guess my question are: 1) Can anyone help? 2) Where can I look up the error codes? Still nothing. He¹s literally moved it to the very top of the list out of any subfolders, it can¹t unsubfolder (if that¹s a word) any further. What I really wanted to happen is that in the calendar mode for it to appear as a separate company calendar you can click on in the left pane instead of importing into your personal calendar. Is this possible? Even though we¹ve moved it to the top level it seems a shame that I can¹t specify a path to a sub-folder for a calendar that the company uses. It worked in Exchange under OS 9, you could see the sub folder inside which the calendar was in and you just clicked on it to view. Entourage must somehow still think the works calendar is sub foldered. Has anyone any more info on this?  - office 2001: Insert Object I would like to take information that is updated regularly from Excel and share that information with my document named "Tony report". So when new info is put into Excel it is should automatically updated in document "Tony report". I know this can be done with the Publish and Subscribe commands, but they do not appear in the menus of Microsoft office 2001 for Mac. Is there a way I can still do this? Thanks!  - Importing data on a new machine Hi, I've been using Office v.X on my G3 Powerbook with Jaguar for quite some time. I just bought a G4 Powerbook with Panther and want to get all my data on the new machine. I hooked my G3 to my G4 with a Firewire cable and transferred alost everything over to the new machine. The only thing I can't seem to get over is my Entourage daya: inbox, drafts, address book & calandar data.  - Entourage 2004 conduit sync problem with Palm 4.1 My Handspring Treo 600 Smart Phone using the latest Palm software (4.1)=20 appears to be syncing with Entourage 2004 but fails to actually sync my=20 contacts and appointments with my Mac using the Panther operating=20 system. When I sync the phone with the Mac it goes through the routine = and=20 even does a backup but no changes are actually made to the phone records = or the Mac records.  - Duplicate Messages I upgraded to Office 2004 today. My main email address gets duplicate messages every time I down load.  - Spelling Prefs I just installed Office 2004 on my PB 1.25 gh machine. I can see the = spelling=20 boxes in the preferences section and check them. But they do not stick.=20 When I open prefs again they are no longer checked.It will not do any=20 spelling corrections. I have repaired permissions and run nortons. Any thoughts?  - Synchronizing delay - Entourage 2004 I installed Entourage 2004 last week. Since that time, I have been experiencing severe delays in synchronizing my mailboxes. My home computer (using a VPN) connection has never fully downloaded all mail, particularly to my Inbox. In Entourage X, I found that received mail would typically appear in my Inbox within a minute or two. Now, in Entourage 2004, I am experiencing delays of hours or more. Right now, I have received no mail since 9am this morning (twelve hours earlier). I know from my Blackberry that there are over 100 email messages that I have received in the interim. Moreover, I am able to send without much problem. I just sent an email to myself. My Blackberry has it. My Inbox does not. Has anyone experienced this? J.  - Mail Rules in Entourage 2004 Anyone have any idea why my mail rules are not working in 2004. I just upgraded from v.X, and they worked fine.  - Entourage 2004 and Exchange Setup Issues Here's my setup: OSX 10.3.3 Office 2004 1. Exchange Setup Wizard For outlook windows I simply put my exchange server in - let's call it exchange1, entered my username and everything took just fine. For Entourage - I put my email address first.last@mycompany.com My user name which is first initial last name My domain - let's call it - work And my password Setup wizard bombs. - I would be grateful for any hints or tricks on that one. I did notice on one of Microsoft's pages that they recommend putting in a search domain (I haven't a clue what that might be other than mycompany.com) 2. Next - Tried using my OWA setup. https://mail.mycompany.com/exchange Set the DAV requires SSL since I'm using https Seems to connect, but I have two problems: A. My folder list doesn't come down from the exchange server B. I get a root certificate error. My company sent me the proper root certificate, but it doesn't seem to help. That however can be ignored until later - since I don't have any folders and can't send any messages, secure messages I can take as the next step. When accessing it directly through the web browser, the first screen is login.asp which asks me to enter my "alias" - -which happens to be my user name (first initial last name - but not my e-mail address). I'm wondering if that's unconventional and what might be causing me the problems retrieving my folders.  - Entourage 2004 won't recognize Entourage v. X Identity I am trying to upgrade to Office 2004 from Office v. X. Entourage v. X works fine, but when I try to install 2004, neither the installer program nor the Import function will recognize my Entourage v. X identity. It sees my old Entourage 2001 and OE 5 identities, and it recognizes the path to where the v. X identity is, but not the identity itself. I have rebuilt the database, and that doesn't help.  - entourage x connectivity with exchange server Hi, I have exchange server 2k3 on win 2k3. I have our contact addresses in Active Directory. I can access these contacts using outlook 2003 in PC. But I am having trouble to access same address book on Mac OS X using entourage v.x 10.1.4 (in lan environment). I created a new exchange server account in entourage.  - Group triangle can not longer be used to collapse/expand. I am using Entourage 2004 and have the view set to View by Groups (currently categories). It seems that I used to be able to use the triangle by the group name to collapse/expand each group. However, that seems to have stopped working. Instead, clicking the triangle results in all the messages within that group opening in a separate window. Any ideas on how I can revert to having the triangle collapse/expand the groups?  - Can't move Identiy from Jaguar to Panther I have Entourage X on an external drive running Jaguar, and I've tried = to=20 move my Main Identity from it to a fresh copy of Ent. X on my internal=20 drive which is running Panther.  - AT&T Worldnet and Entourage 2004 Upgraded from Office.X to Office.2004. Entourage moved all my Account settings, but I can no longer connect to AT&T Worldnet e-mail account. Everything works fine with Entourage.X but NOT Entourage.2004. I can even access AT&T Worldnet e-mail using Apple's Mail on same computer, but Entourage.2004 will NOT CONNECT!  - Personal Folders from Outlook 2001 for Mac in Entourage 2004 Finally with Entourage 2004, I have been able to read my mail at work = which=20 uses Microsoft Exchange server. Previously, I have had to use Outlook = 2001=20 for Mac (run under Classic) in order to "tie in" with the servers.  - Resource scheduling Folks, Has anyone had any luck with scheduling resources (like meeting rooms, etc.) using Entourage? I know that this requires that the resources accept email messages sent to their mail addresses (instead of some other mechanism that Outlook uses); currently ours here do not but I am trying to work with our IT dept to add this feature.  - Add inbound recipients to address book group Hi, I get a load of junk mail - who doesn't? Most of it is addressed to a load of other people including me. I have established a rule in Entourage (v.X) that deletes messages addressed to people in a group. This works fine but I have to manually add each of these addresses to the group. There doesn't seem to a feature that allows me to add the recipients of a mail that I have received to a group. I realize that I stand the risk of adding my own address to the group but I have set up some fairly strict rules to avoid this. I've had a quick scout around AppleScripts that have been built but none seem to effect inbound recipients.  - Ldap error with Entourage 2004 Hello all. I currently maintain some MAC os x 10.3.3 clients that are trying to use the Entourage 2004 that recently came out. I have everything set up except accessing the GAL properly with LDAP. I receive the following error when trying to do a check names (the current LDAP is pointing to our Exchange Server 2000 SP3 on a Windows 2000 Server SP4). Error ---- The connection to the server failed because the network is unavailable. Make sure that your computer is connected to the network and that your server is working correctly. If you need help, contact your network administrator. Explanation --- LDAP Server Error. Account name: "name of account" Error -3260 ---- If I change the LDAP server to one of our Windows 2000 Domain Controllers, I get almost the same error but get back numbers -17768 or -3170 depending on if I select secure LDAP or basic authentication (port 389).  - Problem with Hotmail folders in entourage Does anyone know if you can prevent Hotmail accounts in entourage 2004=20 from downloading the "Deleted" email folder? In Office X when i set the settings I can choose which folders within = the=20 hotmail account to download, i chose only "inbox", in 2004 it is=20 downloading the deleted folder as well, and there is a ton of crap in = that=20 folder and builds up quickly. When I try to open the default mail program from IE I get a message that says "internet config error. Verify mail and new settings." All seems to be set correct.  - Invisible Outbox Messages 4 messages that never left Entourage's Outbox are now invisible. A (4) appears after Outbox in the folder list. But there is nothing visible in the folder. Very odd. And every time I click the Send/Receive button, though my new messages get pulled down as usual, an error message informs me that these four invisible messages failed to send. Thanks for your help. Explanation: Mail could not be sent. I suspect this can only have to do with the total size of the outgoing message (since no problems sending mail from those same POP accounts otherwise). If no, what in the world else could it be? If yes, what remedies are available? Surely many users on this forum have need to send messages far bigger than 1MB and do it every day. What can you advise? (P.S. Always hate to bring Windows into the discussion, but I believe that OE6, and even older OE versions for Windows, contains a nifty setting/feature called something like ³break apart message larger than...².) I could not find any information on this on the Entourage mvps help page, so thought I¹d go ahead and post this.  - Entourage 2004 Quits in changing Fonts I just discovered that my Entourage 2004 unexpectedly quits when I try = to=20 change the font in the body of the email that I am drafting.  - Personal folders. Okay, Lets see if I am not the only one with this issue. Bringing people up to entourage 2004 using exchange. Says do you want to import from xxx try that since we have outlook as our Mac mail client. Guess what the pst or personal folders do not come from outlook, nope sorry doesn't happen. Tried a variety of things on install to make it happen no luck no way. Okay I figure like outlook I will just add them much like I have before and as I do on my Win boxes. Guess what you cannot do that, that functionality is not there. Not only that as I read further into help I find out I have to add them as mail on the exchange server (producing more over head) then start entourage again and move them into the "folders on my computer" which sits safely in an undisclosed location. I have lost control of an essencial tool to my client base. Yes Microsoft in there finite wisdom has fixed a few things (calendering) but botched badly something else to make up for there success. Please do not give me the excuse of a small group and they had to balance things out, etc. I use POP mail at home and I use personal folders and this is not a function I needed to loose or be made more complicated. Adding and using Personal folders was easy uncomplicated not rocket science, this mac group has turned it into a manned moon mission. Okay so where is this "folders on my computer" located so I can back it up. Secondly there has to be an easier way to import a pst or personal folder.  - OS X proxy settings and Entourage Calendar updates A long time ago, I posted this to the Entourage newsgroup. I have seen other postings stating that Entourage does not use the "bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains" list in the OS X Network settings. Does anyone know if this issue still exists with Entourage 2004? Right now, I still have to choose: calendar updates but no html in my emails or html in email but a calendar that won't update on the exchange server. I am connected to our exchange server at work through the ethernet port (no VPN). If I receive an email which contains html, I must go to Network Settings in System Preferences and turn on the http proxy in order to view the email. If I do not turn on the proxy I do not see any html in the received email. With just a proxy for http and https (no proxies for any other service), my email works fine. My calendar, however, does not. I am unable to view people's free/busy (scheduling) data. The error message says that "Scheduling data could not be found" - "Check your Entourage Exchange settings and try again." I have found that if I do not enable the http and https proxies explicitly but I enable the Automatic Proxy Configuration and give a path to a .pac file, my calendar information works. I am able to see other people's scheduling data. However, I am no longer able to view html in my email messages. In Entourage Mail and News preferences I do not have any proxies explicitly enabled (no proxy for web, mail, or secure). These settings work for me if I turn on the http and https proxy settings in Network settings. Here is the quick summary. Network Settings 1) automatic proxy configuration only no http, https proxy enabled -> calendar shows me other peoples scheduling data -> not html in email 2) http, https proxy set in Network settings -> no schedule information for other people -> can see html in email 3) automatic proxy settings - on http, https proxy - on -> no schedule information for other people -> can see html in email Any ideas on how to configure my proxies so that I see html in my email and so that my calendar still allows me to see other people's scheduling data.  - Missing Some of my Personal Folders I'm trying to get Entourage (with Exchange) running on my new iBook (OS 10.2.8), and am having trouble with getting everything working. Among the problems I'm having is that Entourage seems to be missing some of my personal folders -- specifically, these are subfolders within other personal folders. Most of my folders display just fine -- but I'm missing several of them, even though they still are on the server. They all appear when accessing via the web. For whatever reason, I'm either missing a setting or there's something buggy about Entourage. Unfortunately, I'm the only one in my office with this situation -- everyone else is running either PC or OS9. My IT department is at wit's end, so I'm hoping somebody can offer their thoughts...  - Entourage 2004 crash with delegate access We've been looking forward to delegate access in Entourage for some time. We have now successfully added delegated accounts and can see their mail, calendar and contact items within Entourage. The problem we have now is that Entourage reliably crashes soon after adding the delegated accounts. We've tried this with multiple accounts on the same Exchange 2000 server. We've also duplicated the crashes on two seperate computers, one iBook and one G5. Both are running OS 10.3.3 with latest updates. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I now discover that when I type "bc" in the "To" field, it brings up three names, one of which I never heard of and cannot see in the address book itself.  - Entourage 2004 Multiple Dialup Account Problem This problem never occurred in Entourage X. I have two dial up accounts one for use at 8am-6pm which is called Peak, the other for 6pm-8am which is called Off-Peak. I am running 10.3.3 and Off-Peak is the default account (it is the highest in the Network Pref Pane: Network Port Configurations). If I am connected to Peak I cannot send or receive email (if I don't use POPFile to download email) (I only have POP accounts). I get a error message from Internet Connect and this in the Connection Log in Internet Connect: Wed May 26 17:09:08 2004 : Failed to acquire /dev/cu.modem in exclusive mode : Invalid argument I'm pretty sure Entourage is trying to dial the default account but fails as the modem is dialled into another account. If I make Peak the default account the problem is solved but I get the same problem on Off-Peak if it is not default. I also avoid this problem if I use POPFile spam proxy for every POP account so each email account pop address is 127.0.0.1 but I cannot use for POPFile to send email so this problem still affects me.
