Are you referring to attachments? They can't be separated out from messages
while the messages are still encoded on the server, only after downloading -
which would defeat the purpose. So, as Matt says, just set messages over a
certain size (e.g. 20K) to partially download. That will get you headers and
some text of large messages with attachments (plain text messages with no
attachments are typically no more than 4 KB or so, even HTML message without
attachments usually under 10 Km so the larger messages over 20K will usually
be messages with attachments.) You'll see enough from the headers to know
whether you want to download the whole message or not.
