 - Synchronisation between Entourage 08 and Exchange 03 Hi Group, we have problems with one Entourage 2008 Client on Mac OS 10.4.11, which is connected via OWA on a Exchange Server 2003. This client doesn't synchronise one specific subfolder. All other folders, like Inbox become synchronise as we expect. How we can troubleshoot this problem?  - Script Help - Move open message Hi, I'm trying to come up with a way to move the current open message to a single folder that I archive everything to. But I'm looking for a script that will take the current open message, move it to the @archive folder and then open the next message in the list. Anyone have anything like this?  - Iphone Contacts not syncing with Entourage I am trying to sync my Entourage contacts with my iphone. All went well and they were until until about two hours ago when they mysteriously disappeared. have tried re-syncing and changing all settings and even restoring factory settings on the iphone. i am still left without any contacts. anyone have anything i can use to try to get this to work?  - Entourage 2004 11.4.0 - Auto complete names in email question In my Entourage address book I have 10 people named Bill (and their last name). When I start a new message and type in 'Bill' entourage autocompletes with 8 of the names, but not the other two. Why? I tried creating a new person and called them "Bill Johnson" but when I start a new message and type: bill I don't get Bill Johnson in my autocomplete list. I had 'rebuilt' my entourage database thinking that would do the trick...but it didn't. I exported my addresses to another computer running entourage, but that didn't help either. Thanks!  - Public folders not showing Hi group, One user created a subfolder into one of the public folders they have access to but other users can not see this new subfolder even though permissions are ok. This appears to be a cache issue as only users that previously browsed this parent folder can NOT see the new subfolder. Users that never browsed that public folder branch do not show this issue.  - entourage mixing up inboxes from hosted exchange account I'm not sure if this is a problem with entourage, exchange or the iphone, but here goes anyway... having set up a hosted exchange mail account, my entourage client is bringing new mail into 'my computer/inbox' instead of 'exchange account/inbox' (even though i set up a rule to send all new mail to 'exchange account/inbox'. New mail is seen on phone and in entourage, but as soon as it is opened in entourage it disappears from phone inbox, unless I manually move it to the 'exchange account/inbox', which is pretty boring. sent mail works fine, only incoming mail has this problem. thanks!  - Entourage 2008 sending calendar requests, time miscalculated by Here is the scenario: Sending a calendar invite via Entourage 2008 from Pacific timezone. Have verified that both the system and entourage timezones are set to Pacific Daylight savings. My receiving gmail account is also set for Pacific Daylight. When sending via Entourage, the event is Sept 23 at 9:30pm. In the recipient's Entourage, time is correct. In a cc'd gmail account (set to PDT too) the event comes in as Sept 23 2:30pm.  - Entourage Crashes With No Network Connection Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange I've been having the issue since I installed Entourage '08 shortly after it was released. My MacBook is rarely without a network connection (so I rarely experience the issue), but occasionally I'm in a location with no connectivity, or where I need to turn off my Airport (wireless network adapter) to conserve battery. Any time my machine is in this state with no active network adapters, if I launch Entourage '08, it immediately (as soon as it tries to check for mail) crashes. If I lose all network connectivity while running Entourage, it will crash as soon as it automatically checks for new mail. Possibly helpful information: If I have an active Ethernet or Wifi connection with no DNS entries, it does not crash. If I have an active Ethernet or Wifi connection with no DNS or default gateway, it does not crash. I'm running the Entourage:2008 (12.1.2 (080729)) on a white Intel (C2D) MacBook with OS X 10.5.5.  - Entourage has failed Entourage has quit on our MAC and will not reopen. It is only 10.1.6 (so needs updating, but I don't think I can even do that at the moment). The OS is 10.5.5. Reducing font size helps a little too but does not solve the problem until the account names are too small to read. For no discernible reason, a lot of them came through with quotation marks around the name or company name, throwing off our ability to sort. I went through painstakingly removing them all, and put it all in a shared contacts list in the Public folder of our Exchange server. I subscribed to this folder and added it to my Favorites bar. After a week or so,it disappeared off my Favorites bar, and when I added it to the bar again, the whole list had to reload from the server and I had lost all my client side info, such as categories, and the quotation marks reappeared. I have been able to recover it with Time Machine a few times and have tried to streamline it, but eventually it crashes again. Maybe this time for good, maybe not. Nevertheless, my question is: If I can get it back one more time, what can I do to solve the problem? How can I save what I need to have access to in the future and still use this program? Or do I have to start using Apple Mail instead and just kiss all my data in Entourage goodbye? For example, is there a way to archive some of the data to still have it accessible but not take up as much room? And BTW, 2 GB is a very small database for someone whose job depends on email! If I bought Entourage 2008, could I transfer my database over to it and would its utility get the kinks out? I would hope that a newer version would have a bigger database allowance.  - Trying to open new calendar item from Outlook 2007 Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange A user has created a new calendar item in Outlook 2007. He has shared the calendar item out to both Mac and Windows users. The Windows users are able to connect to this calendar (Outlook 2007) but the Mac users cannot. In Entourage, the mac user goes to File>Open Other User's Folder and finds the correct user but there are only 3 types to choose from (Calendar, Address Book, Inbox). The mac user chooses Calendar but gets an error message saying he doesn't have permission to open the folder. What is interesting is that the mac user can connect to the main Calender when the just that calendar is shared. Do you always have to type out or copy in the URL? Is there any way to set up a project template? I run a reading series and I have the same tasks to perform but for several different people each academic year. I'd like to track these tasks in a project, along with some other information. Is there a way I can set up a project template so that I don't have to completely retype/recreate the tasks each year? (I know I can probably save boilerplate text somewhere and just insert that into new tasks; my question is can I create the tasks and then save and reuse them.) Can you not create hyperlinks in tasks? Is there a way to export/import rule and/or categories? Can I put my Entourage file on my iDisk so I can access it from both my desktop and my laptop? There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to what email goes where. This is a problem in that I have to check two locations to see my mail. Even worse is when I need to access my email using Outlook on a PC, or via web access from outside the building. Then I only see the email in the Inbox under my work account. Any email in the Inbox under Folders on My Computer does not show up in my Outlook! I tried setting the Inbox under my work account to be the default, but that didn't make any difference.  - Entourage hangs when switching to/from calendar, notes, inbox, etc Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Hey all, I have a fully updated/patched version of Entourage 2008 on my fully patched leopard MBP, and when in Entourage, switching to the calendar, notes, inbox, etc will hang entourage for 15-120 seconds. During this time, Entourage uses ~100% CPU and is completely unresponsive. I connect to an exchange 2007 server using https over a VPN, and have only a few hundred emails in my mailbox. I have created a new identity, excluded MUD from time machine, and blown away every prefs file that can possibly relate to MS or entourage, all to no avail. I have no flagged emails, no projects, no tasks, and only a handful of calendar events. Any ideas?  - CONSISTENT Hanging in 2004, is 2008 any better? I am about to give up on Entourage 2004. It seems that html emails are causing about 5 hanging crashes per day even after rebuild and maintenance on my hardddrives. I believe it is an Entourage thing. When the recipient tries to read this they cannot open it. In the old version of Entourage for Mac bundled with a Mac purchase this was not the case, it was inserted in the text and legible to everyone windows and Mac users. Can anyone help with this please.  - Marks Messages as Junk despite adding to address book I am getting problems with Entourage persistently marking some messages as junkmail and transfering them to the Junkmail folder every time it runs "Send & Receive". I have tried clicking on "this is not junkmail" and the person is in my address book, but it keeps doing it with some messages, seemingly random. I recently received an email with a flight confirmation from easyjet which was received in my inbox without any problems, however, a subsequent email from easyjet keeps being marked as junk.  - Scripting / Shortcutting Language Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Dear all, after much searching around, I had to give up on a (seemingly) very simple issue: given that entourage cannot create custom buttons, I want to create a script OR a shortcut that selects "Tools -> Spelling Language -> German" from the menu. Setting the language is apparently not scriptable per se, so I tried the following script: tell application "System Events" tell process "Microsoft Entourage" select menu item "German" of menu 1 of menu item "Spelling Language" of menu 1 of menu bar item "Tools" of menu bar 1 end tell end tell This works like a charm if you press "run" in the script editor BUT if you run it from inside entourage you get the spinning wheel and nothing happens. Does anybody have an idea, why? Having been disappointed by that route I tried the "create keyboard shortcut" option using system preferences. I can apparently select everything by assigning a shortcut to it, EXCEPT for the languages - again, nothing happens here, even though the entry "German", for example, beautifully picks up the shortcut I've assigned to it in the menu. Any help would be much appreciated!  - Accidentally deleted account Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop I just upgraded my Office 2004 to Office 2008 Special Media Edition. I had a very large Microsoft User Data file with about 26GBs of past emails, contacts, etc. Needless to say the upgrade was very slow. I hate the installer dialog box as it did not have any progress window to let me know where in the process I was at in getting my old data imported. Anyway, I finished the upgrade and started Entourage. I updated my keychains. I had 4 email accounts on my old data including one that had previously been hooked to an exchange server. Even though I have not been connected to the exchange server for 6 months, I had kept the account as I wanted to keep the emails and contact info that was on my computer. I have continually gotten dialog boxes saying that the root certificate could not be found and another asking for my password even though I did not want to access the server any more. I decided to delete the account to stop this but did not realize that I would no longer see any of the folders that contained thousands of emails and my contact info. I do have a backed up version of my Microsoft User Data folder but really do not want to go back through the very painful process of upgrading the SW and potentially losing the emails that have downloaded from the past few days from several POP servers. I have had the same problem as many of you since I bought Office 2008. I have worked with my support group, trying countless things. There are many hits on Google that speak to this exact issue. I believe it is high time that MS steps up to the plate and admits that there is a problem and fixes it. I have read Diane Ross' previous responses and I have the ultimate respect for her. She has bailed me out 2 or 3 times. However, I have to respectfully disagree with her on this. Her explanation is very valid, but it doesn't apply. We can't all be wrong, type this issue into the forum or into Google and the shear number of hits has to mean something. How can this not be an issue? The thought of going back to my Vista & Office 2007 machine depresses me. I bought a Macbook Air for a reason. Do you agree? or am I being unreasonable.
