 - Repeated requests for keychain password Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: pop When ever the Mac comes back from sleeping and tries to download e-mail I get a dialog box that says, "Microsoft Entourage wants to use the "login" keychain. Please enter the keychain password. I do so, and all is well... until the next time. I admit I was looking at the keychain thing and this started after that, but I didn't think I changed anything.  - Automator action from older version When I open an Automator Action stored at ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Script Menu Items/Sample Automator Workflows I get this message: "The workflow was saved with an older version of the action "...". Some behaviour may have changed." As I installed Office 2008 on top of 2004 (i.e. I didn't remove Office 2004 first) were they installed in the same place? Could the actions be from Office 2004? Error 111 coming up after it times out when trying to send a bulk emailing using Entourage. I've double checked updates, talked to our ISP (who was of course worthless in helping) and restarted the Modem (now overnight just in case). And still can not send out a bulk emailing above 30 emails. This just occurred in the last two weeks as well as we were able to prior to that. Since we have a newsletter list over 400 long splitting it up into blocks of 30 or less is not effective.  - Deleted tasks keep reappearing Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I have several newly installed Mac Pro's all on 10.5.2 running Office 2008 patched up to 12.0.1. All of them are experiencing problems with Tasks/To Dos in My Day. When we have deleted them they reappear back into the list. The email accounts have been setup with exchange to the local mail server 'Kerio'. I have deleted the local MS User Data folder and recreated from fresh, checked to make sure all the sync services are turned off in Entourage with iCal in the preferences and also tested in another OS user.  - Unable to accept "New Time Proposed" meeting change in Entourage Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange I am working with Entourage 2008 and a colleague on Outlook 2003. I originated a meeting request from Entourage 2008 and he accepted using OL 2003. He had to make a change to the time of the meeting and did this through OL 2003. The "New Time Proposed" came through to Entourage as a regular email without the ability to accept, propose a different time, view all proposals etc. Is this a known problem? Hello everybody, I would like to use Entourage for my project work, but the major impediment/deception is that the links between e-mail/addresses/notes are deleted when rebuilding the database, which must be done quite regularly. Is this a bug or a feature? Whichever ist is, as long as this remains this way, the whole project idea is useless, in my opinion. I run both Windows XP and Mac 10.4.11 for my corporate work the former is forced upon me, the latter is my choice. I haven¹t logged onto the IBM for weeks. Last week I started having real problems with Entourage over Outlook Webmail Access (couldn¹t make a connection for two hours), so I decided to fire up the IBM and use Outlook to get to email. When I did so, I noticed that the Mac Entourage client is seeing some emails that the IBM isn¹t seeing in Outlook. And the same emails aren¹t showing up over Webmail viewed using a browser. All of the emails I can see in Outlook or in my Inbox on Webmail browser access can be seen on the Mac client. However, there are some emails about 75% of my daily traffic that can be seen on the Mac client but can¹t be seen on Outlook or a Webmail access via browser. Another interesting point: the Mac Entourage client (different from Outlook) maintains a separate Inbox (under ³Folders on My Computer²) from the account-defined mailbox (I call it ³SiGe² on my client). About 1 March 08, this separate Inbox started getting the majority of my email traffic instead of the SiGe mailbox. Previous to this date, the SiGe inbox got all my email traffic that cleared the SPAM filters. Here¹s a critical point: the Entourage SiGe mailbox email list perfectly matches the Outlook Inbox email list (and the Webmail Inbox email list as well). That means that the majority of my email traffic is being diverted by the server to a mailbox location that can¹t be seen in Outlook. All other folders SPAM, sent mail, deleted mail, all offline mail folders are identical over Entourage and Outlook. I¹ve used the Mac for OWA to email for two years, the account is defined for Exchange Server access. Previous to 1 Mar 08, all of my mail went to the Entourage SiGe mailbox; that is, the Entourage SiGe mailbox email list matched the Outlook Inbox email list.  - Unknown error -1702; SpamSieve I just installed Office 2008. I am running OS X 10.5.2. From Entourage (12.0.1), I now get this message: While processing message "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <message subject here>" (ID 205029), the rule "Spam Sieve - move if spam" could not be successfully executed. An unknown error (-1702) occurred. Any ideas what causes this? SpamSieve web site says latest version (I have it installed) is compatible with Entourage 2008. Entourage doesn't indicate if I have meetings later. I would like to have a look of my whole working day (ex form 8h00 to 18h00) without having to scroll down my sreen. Sometimes I hear the chime that an email has come in but it does not show up in my in box. Also I can see my email in my web server before it downloads into Entourage on my computer. When the emails are downloaded (deleted from the server in the process), it seems like up to a third of the emails are missing - and they are not in the junk folder. If, however, I use the color icon in the email window, Entourage spontaneously quits. Logging out of my Mac and switching to another user, with a totally different Identity: the problem persists. Totally deleting the entire Office suite (but keeping my Microsoft User Data folder): the problem persists. Oh yes... About the same time as this started, Excel stopped ringing its bell every time I save a document. Other sounds in both applications remain the same.  - Error Retrieving yahoo mail -- Error: -16999 Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: pop I just got the microsoft office for mac 2008. I am very aware how to set up my pop settings to receive mail. The mail program with iLife 08 has no difficulty getting my yahoo mail. I have paid for the pop access with yahoo, so I know that's not the issue. It was downloading the messages fine at first but now i can't get anything. My error message reads: "problem retrieving message" "Could not retrieve mail." Error: 16999. I went to the error message log and did what they suggest, to no avail. PLEASE HELP!!! I choose Office over iWork 08 and now am kicking myself bc microsoft can't make anything that doesn't take 3 hours to figure out. Thanks!  - Still unable to view my "To" field Hi all, I've been really stumped by this problem. About two months ago, I began receiving email where I could not see who was listed in the "To" field. I understand that if I was "BCC"'d I would not be able to see the recipients, but this is happening with EVERY email, regardless of whether there are blind recipients or not. The email comes to me, I can't see all the other people on the "to" (as in the case of a group email) and when I hit "reply all" only the sender gets the email. I've tested this with lots of emails to myself, and nothing seems to work. I reinstalled Entourage, and it worked fine for about a week, and now it's doing the same thing again. It's really frustruating to not be able to see who else is getting emails in a group conversation, or to reply to the 4 or 5 staff members that are on the email without having to ask them "did they see it".  - Rules in Entourage 2008 Having problems getting simple Exchange rules to consistently work in Entourage 2008, but maybe it's me. I have a rule setup that simply copies to a specific folder any email from a specific person. For example if an email comes in from John Smith into the Inbox the rule is suppose to copy it to John Smith's folder. It works sometimes but not all the time?  - Spotlight in Entourage I have been using Spotlight in Entourage 2008 to look up some old emails in the deleted folder. I type in the senders name (e.g. Tom Smith as in Tom Smith@aol.com) but the found list1) Only finds some Tom Smith's and it also finds a whole bunch more that have nothign to do with or have content in it that says "Tom Smith" So is there something wrong with Spotlight or? Ask your ISP is what their limit is for sending bulk mail. Perhaps they changed it. You need the number for per bulk message and per day. Some indicate no more than 100 emails in a batch and no more than 500 in a day. I've an address book with over 1000 email addresses assembled since 1995, many are defunct and some I've not corresponded with in years or never. Is there a way to identify unused and inactive names in the address book and delete them from the active book? I've double checked updates, talked to our ISP (who was of course worthless in helping) and restarted the Modem (now overnight just in case). And still can not send out a bulk emailing above 30 emails. This just occurred in the last two weeks as well as we were able to prior to that. Since we have a newsletter list over 400 long splitting it up into blocks of 30 or less is not effective.  - iCal/Entourage/iPhone categories Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: pop Based on the information I read here synching the iCal app with Sync Services so that I could get my iPhone and Entourage to talk to each other, I spent a good three hours last night converting my multitudes of events and calendar items in iCal into the Entourage calendar I had to create in that application. Then, after they appeared in the Entourage application calendar, I assigned categories to all these events. Success? I thought so until I synched the iPhone and every category I had was lost! This part of the application is meaningless unless I can see the categorization of my daily events. Is there a solution around this? The frustration AND tragedy is that now I have two calendar applications that have lists and lists of events that are not categorized: iCal (all events listed as an "Entourage" calendar item) and "Entourage" (all events unclassified). I have many files, contacts, messages, calendars and what not in my old Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 that I would just love to be able to import here to the MacBook. Not only that, but because the MacBook is for traveling and the old paper-weight... errr PC... on my desk isn't about to change, I need a quick way to sync Entourage and Outlook to continue using both!! (Until we can get the finances to completely convert to all Macs!) Is there a way to do this? Please keep in mind that this is my first Mac and Mac-geek-speak will just fly over my head.  - Horribly slow performance on Entourage - some explorations and Like many people, I am experiencing periodic instances of Entourage 2008 going catatonic (displaying the beach ball of death and refusing text input or any other user action). One thing that I notice in the activity monitor is that when Entourage goes catatonic, it seems to be reading a BIG file. It does this repeatedly. My theory is that there is some periodic process that runs and somewhat foolishly believes that it has to read the entire database (mine is huge) or at least a large chunk of it. There is plenty of disk space, lots of free memory, and activity monitor shows essentially no paging activity, so that is not the problem. I am an Exchange user, and I have the periodic data base verifier turned off, since all the data is on Exchange. Turning off Sync services MAY help, but I am not 100% certain, since turning off the check boxes in preferences doesn't seem to have an effect (at least before I quit and restart Entourage). This is inconvenient, since I need them on to sync to iCal so I can sync to my PDA (a whole further plague of problems!) Does anyone have an explanation of all this? Even better, any work- arounds? When people got the e-mail message from me, Entourage had pulled an old out of office message from Entourage 04 with old dates. I have my work email set up to be delivered to Entourage through my personal email's SMTP server. (I work from a home office.)

I removed my personal email from Entourage to Mac Mail recently. Now when I send email from Entourage the recipient sees the message from: "gia@ak.net" on behalf of (Work Email Name).

What can I do to stop this? I don't want my personal email address to show in my business communications.

This is the result of a "Sender" header. Assuming you are not adding this
yourself (Tools > Accounts > (Your Account) > Options > Additional Headers),
your home ISP's SMTP server is adding it. Contact them and request that they
stop doing this, or find another SMTP server (perhaps an authenticated
server provided by your work) that will not do this.
