POP access to Gmail slow?

Anyone else finding POP access to Googlemail intermittently very slow.
Entourage freezes, claims server is overloaded etc... But my internet
connection is fine. Odd.

I'm using the 'recent:' function on googlemail to get mail onto two Macs.

Hi, I use Entourage for POP access to my GMail (my primary account). I
have not noticed slow speeds on downloads. Though I have noticed
intermittent timeouts on sending messages.

Also what is the 'recent' function? Where on GMail do I find it?

My solution to keeping all my mail together was to put my Entourage
database on to a flash drive and then have Entourage on the two macs
point to the flash drive for the default database. You do this by
putting an alias to your Entourage Identity folder in the Identities
folder on your local hard drives.
