I've seen that on some Exchange servers that were not up to date. Can you ask
your network admin wether all the patches have been applied to the exchange
server ???
(in the meanwhile, also try to re-send the mail that won't go out several
times, it usually goes out on the second or third attempt).

Also, if you are using Entourage X, I suspect your organization doesn't have
an SMTP server enabled for you to use. I highly suggest you upgrade to 2004.
