 - Calender won't sync with Exchange Hi, I have Entourage X and when I set up everything to sync with our exchange server at work, my calender and contacts don't sync.  - Reply All I "reply all" to many messages and it always puts me in the "send to" line - which I then have to manually remove so I don't clog my inbox up with stuff from me.  - Personal Folders from Outlook 2001 for Mac in Entourage 2004 Finally with Entourage 2004, I have been able to read my mail at work = which=20 uses Microsoft Exchange server. Previously, I have had to use Outlook = 2001=20 for Mac (run under Classic) in order to "tie in" with the servers. BUT = how do=20 I "import" the Personal Folders from Outlook 2001 into Entourage 2004? = I=20 have tried "import" in the pull down menu, but Outlook 2001 for Mac is = NOT=20 one of the choices, and when I "browse" and go to the file, it is = "greyed" out. =20 Tag: AT&T Worldnet and Entourage 2004 Tag: 38113

 - Resource scheduling Folks, Has anyone had any luck with scheduling resources (like meeting rooms, etc.) using Entourage? I know that this requires that the resources accept email messages sent to their mail addresses (instead of some other mechanism that Outlook uses); currently ours here do not but I am trying to work with our IT dept to add this feature.  - Add inbound recipients to address book group Hi, I get a load of junk mail - who doesn't? Most of it is addressed to a load of other people including me. I have established a rule in Entourage (v.X) that deletes messages addressed to people in a group. This works fine but I have to manually add each of these addresses to the group. There doesn't seem to a feature that allows me to add the recipients of a mail that I have received to a group. I realize that I stand the risk of adding my own address to the group but I have set up some fairly strict rules to avoid this. I've had a quick scout around AppleScripts that have been built but none seem to effect inbound recipients.  - Ldap error with Entourage 2004 Hello all. I currently maintain some MAC os x 10.3.3 clients that are trying to use the Entourage 2004 that recently came out. I have everything set up except accessing the GAL properly with LDAP. I receive the following error when trying to do a check names (the current LDAP is pointing to our Exchange Server 2000 SP3 on a Windows 2000 Server SP4). Error ---- The connection to the server failed because the network is unavailable. Make sure that your computer is connected to the network and that your server is working correctly. If you need help, contact your network administrator. Explanation --- LDAP Server Error. Account name: "name of account" Error -3260 ---- If I change the LDAP server to one of our Windows 2000 Domain Controllers, I get almost the same error but get back numbers -17768 or -3170 depending on if I select secure LDAP or basic authentication (port 389).  - Problem with Hotmail folders in entourage Does anyone know if you can prevent Hotmail accounts in entourage 2004=20 from downloading the "Deleted" email folder? In Office X when i set the settings I can choose which folders within = the=20 hotmail account to download, i chose only "inbox", in 2004 it is=20 downloading the deleted folder as well, and there is a ton of crap in = that=20 folder and builds up quickly.  - use entourage 2004 as default mail program I changed the default mail program from "mail" to "entourage 2004." This change was made inside of "mail." When I try to open the default mail program from IE I get a message that says "internet config error. Verify mail and new settings." All seems to be set correct.  - Invisible Outbox Messages 4 messages that never left Entourage's Outbox are now invisible. A (4) appears after Outbox in the folder list. But there is nothing visible in the folder. Very odd. And every time I click the Send/Receive button, though my new messages get pulled down as usual, an error message informs me that these four invisible messages failed to send. Thanks for your help.  - Entourage 2004 Quits in changing Fonts I just discovered that my Entourage 2004 unexpectedly quits when I try = to=20 change the font in the body of the email that I am drafting. This phenomena will occur when you use the drop-down box for the Fonts,=20 but it will not quit if you change the Font by using the menu drop-down = via=20 Format - Font.  - Personal folders. Okay, Lets see if I am not the only one with this issue. Bringing people up to entourage 2004 using exchange. Says do you want to import from xxx try that since we have outlook as our Mac mail client. Guess what the pst or personal folders do not come from outlook, nope sorry doesn't happen. Tried a variety of things on install to make it happen no luck no way. Okay I figure like outlook I will just add them much like I have before and as I do on my Win boxes. Guess what you cannot do that, that functionality is not there. Not only that as I read further into help I find out I have to add them as mail on the exchange server (producing more over head) then start entourage again and move them into the "folders on my computer" which sits safely in an undisclosed location. I have lost control of an essencial tool to my client base. Yes Microsoft in there finite wisdom has fixed a few things (calendering) but botched badly something else to make up for there success. Please do not give me the excuse of a small group and they had to balance things out, etc. I use POP mail at home and I use personal folders and this is not a function I needed to loose or be made more complicated. Adding and using Personal folders was easy uncomplicated not rocket science, this mac group has turned it into a manned moon mission. Okay so where is this "folders on my computer" located so I can back it up. Secondly there has to be an easier way to import a pst or personal folder.  - OS X proxy settings and Entourage Calendar updates A long time ago, I posted this to the Entourage newsgroup. I have seen other postings stating that Entourage does not use the "bypass proxy settings for these Hosts & Domains" list in the OS X Network settings. Does anyone know if this issue still exists with Entourage 2004? Right now, I still have to choose: calendar updates but no html in my emails or html in email but a calendar that won't update on the exchange server. Thanks, Steve ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I am running Entourage X 10.1.4 (030702) on Mac OS X 10.3.2 Panther. I am connected to our exchange server at work through the ethernet port (no VPN). If I receive an email which contains html, I must go to Network Settings in System Preferences and turn on the http proxy in order to view the email. If I do not turn on the proxy I do not see any html in the received email. With just a proxy for http and https (no proxies for any other service), my email works fine. My calendar, however, does not. I am unable to view people's free/busy (scheduling) data. The error message says that "Scheduling data could not be found" - "Check your Entourage Exchange settings and try again." I have found that if I do not enable the http and https proxies explicitly but I enable the Automatic Proxy Configuration and give a path to a .pac file, my calendar information works. I am able to see other people's scheduling data. However, I am no longer able to view html in my email messages. In Entourage Mail and News preferences I do not have any proxies explicitly enabled (no proxy for web, mail, or secure). These settings work for me if I turn on the http and https proxy settings in Network settings. Here is the quick summary. Network Settings 1) automatic proxy configuration only no http, https proxy enabled -> calendar shows me other peoples scheduling data -> not html in email 2) http, https proxy set in Network settings -> no schedule information for other people -> can see html in email 3) automatic proxy settings - on http, https proxy - on -> no schedule information for other people -> can see html in email Any ideas on how to configure my proxies so that I see html in my email and so that my calendar still allows me to see other people's scheduling data.  - Missing Some of my Personal Folders I'm trying to get Entourage (with Exchange) running on my new iBook (OS 10.2.8), and am having trouble with getting everything working. Among the problems I'm having is that Entourage seems to be missing some of my personal folders -- specifically, these are subfolders within other personal folders. Most of my folders display just fine -- but I'm missing several of them, even though they still are on the server. They all appear when accessing via the web. For whatever reason, I'm either missing a setting or there's something buggy about Entourage. Unfortunately, I'm the only one in my office with this situation -- everyone else is running either PC or OS9. My IT department is at wit's end, so I'm hoping somebody can offer their thoughts...  - Entourage 2004 crash with delegate access We've been looking forward to delegate access in Entourage for some time. We have now successfully added delegated accounts and can see their mail, calendar and contact items within Entourage. The problem we have now is that Entourage reliably crashes soon after adding the delegated accounts. We've tried this with multiple accounts on the same Exchange 2000 server. We've also duplicated the crashes on two seperate computers, one iBook and one G5. Both are running OS 10.3.3 with latest updates. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  - Strange email address I imported all my email addresses from Outlook Express into Entourage 2004. I now discover that when I type "bc" in the "To" field, it brings up three names, one of which I never heard of and cannot see in the address book itself.  - Entourage 2004 Multiple Dialup Account Problem This problem never occurred in Entourage X. I have two dial up accounts one for use at 8am-6pm which is called Peak, the other for 6pm-8am which is called Off-Peak. I am running 10.3.3 and Off-Peak is the default account (it is the highest in the Network Pref Pane: Network Port Configurations). If I am connected to Peak I cannot send or receive email (if I don't use POPFile to download email) (I only have POP accounts). I get a error message from Internet Connect and this in the Connection Log in Internet Connect: Wed May 26 17:09:08 2004 : Failed to acquire /dev/cu.modem in exclusive mode : Invalid argument I'm pretty sure Entourage is trying to dial the default account but fails as the modem is dialled into another account. If I make Peak the default account the problem is solved but I get the same problem on Off-Peak if it is not default. I also avoid this problem if I use POPFile spam proxy for every POP account so each email account pop address is 127.0.0.1 but I cannot use for POPFile to send email so this problem still affects me.  - Recurring event on last weekday of month appears daily I am trying to put a recurring event (have tried all-day, and timed - result the same) to occur on the last weekday of every month. (with an ending date). This is in Entourage 2004. The event box accepts this, and the correct description of the situation shows up in the dialogue box. But when I click the save button in the box, the event shows up daily. (At this point, the dialogue box still has the correct repetition description). Then if I close the dialogue box for the event, and re-open it, the description of the recurrance now says, "occurs daily until..." I have rebuilt my database. Any suggestions about this?  - export/import messages in OE5/Entourage X - where's the logic? I'm hoping one of the "gurus' who haunt these groups might be able to enlighten me about the logic, or lack thereof, in attempting to get email messages out of one version of Microsoft's "wonderful" email client and into another. Specifically, I'm having a problem with my G4/733/os9.2.2 and Comcast cable internet...I think they're on to me that I've got more than one computer hooked up thru a switch, and they've put the kabosh on the G4's NIC. I'm rectifying that situation soon...but for the short term, I'd like to be able to export my email messages out of that computer, which is using Outlook Express 5.02, and into my iMac 233/os10.3, which is running OfficeX:Entourage. first thing I notice is the folder structure is different. In OE, each user (or "identity") has a seperate folder contained in the "identities" folder, and each has a "messages" database contained within. However, in Entourage, the folder "Main Identity" contains the only message database; each individual is contained in the "OfficeX Identities" folder, but this folder does not contain any message databases. alright, so much for my dissertation on the always-fun folder structure of MS's email product. To cut to the chase, why isn't there an "export messages" command in OE? Or, failing that, why can't Entourage figure out that, when using the "import" command, that the Outlook Express 5 stuff that you want to import might not be on the computer you're using, but rather on another computer on the network? Generally, when you ask an app to import, insert or attach a file/folder, you go into a "browse" dialog where you can tell the app where and what to import...not so in Entourage-land! So how do I do this? A nice user named Chris R had a solution he used to get Entourage/Mac messages out to his Outlook/Windows machine, using an intermediary IMAP server. The problem for me with this solution is: 1) I have no idea what an IMAP server is. 2) I want a solution that's simple enough that my wife (who can't believe that something as simple as copying messages into another email client can be THIS HARD) can do it. I don't think bouncing stuff to intemediaries is simple enough. Finally, if I haven't already exhausted your patience, a little theoretical musing would be appreciated. What's the logic behind all this - why's it so hard just to copy a few email messages from one version of a program to another? Any help would be appreciated.  - Deleting mail? I just switched from entourage X to 2004 and I have started accumulating "ghost" messages. Some are junk mail and others are from a list-serve that I subscribe to. When I hit delete, the message is not crossed out, and the cursor goes to the next message. These messages end up getting deleted from my IMAP server, but they still appear in my entourage inbox and I can't figure out any way to get rid of them (I've even tried dragging them to the trash and that just copies the message). Restarting the program and the computer does nothing to alleviate the problem either. I've only used the program for two days and I have three messages that I can't get rid of.  - Root Security Certificate I am running Entourage 2004, having upgraded from Entourage X, interfacing with an Exchange 2003 server. When I access the account all works well except I am reminded on login that I do not have my root certificate installed. I had it fine when X was running. I have to go to a webmail server to install the certificate using Explorer 5.2 for OSX. Upgraded from Office.X to Office.2004.

Entourage moved all my Account settings, but I can no longer connect to AT&T
Worldnet e-mail account.

Everything works fine with Entourage.X but NOT Entourage.2004. I can even
access AT&T Worldnet e-mail using Apple's Mail on same computer, but
Entourage.2004 will NOT CONNECT!

I've double-checked ALL my setting and security, even re-entered my password
and made sure it was correct in Keychain, but nothing works!

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Follow-up:

If you change your Account ID from "<username>" to the long form of
"<username>@att.net" then you can receive mail.

It appears that there is a MS bug which prevents sending mail with any
settings.

There are a few threads at webnews.att.net/macintosh all of which seem to
confirm this problem.
