 - Entourage 2004 -> 08 identity transfer fails Hi all, I'm upgrading a user to Office 2008, and in the Office Setup Assistant Identity transfer step, I'm stuck on groundhog day. I click "Transfer Identity", I can watch a file get made in the ~/Documents/Microsoft/Office 2008 Identities, and somewhere before 4 gigs, it just *poof*- disappears, the "Transfer Identity" button returns, and the Console log says: Assertion failure in -[IdentityImportPane migrateIdentities], /Volumes/bm01-builds/sd/main/setupasst/project/../sections/userinfo/IdentityImportPane.m:825 and another that lists the same, and ends in m:840 . I ran the '04 database check tool, it says all is well. I've pressed the Transfer Identity button 4 times with the same 4 results..... what can I do differently?  - Entourage (Office 2004) suddenly won't connect I hadn't used my Mac Powerbook Pismo on the office network for over two weeks. It worked fine prevously. Today when I opened Entourage, the only message I get is "no schedules pending." "Not connected" is appended after my name in the Exchange mailbox list. Running "exchange lookup" from the Scripts menu produces nothing but an error message that says "an error of type 29300 has occurred." Any ideas?  - Online error for translation features I'm trying to use the translation feature in Entourage and despite the fact that I'm getting emails and that I'm able to log into the help page that's online when I type a word to translate it comes with the message that office cannot connect to the Internet.  - Disapearing Appointments I have running a Exchange 2003 SP2 server with both outlook and Entourage clients accessing. The Entourage 2004 client are connection though OWA. We have an admin assistant that views this users calendar with Outlook 2003. Some 5 days ago all of this users appointments vanished. I am trying to track down the reason this may happen.  - Out of the Office I tried setting up out of the office for the first time using my Entourage 2004 software Feb. 5, 2008. Of course now I've upgraded to 2008 but here is my question. I have the rule turned off, in fact now I've even deleted the rule -- but several people e-mailing me say they still receive my auto reply from that initial setup.  - Mail Sending Speed I have two email accounts in Entourage and one of them takes considerably longer to post to recipients. Here is the situation: Both accounts are Yahoo/AT&T, one is free and those get posted almost immediately and the other is a paid domain email address. I've tested this several times by sending myself emails from both accounts addressed to both accounts. The free yahoo account will post the emails to my web mail server within seconds of sending them from Entourage. The emails sent from the paid account can take from 6-24 hours to arrive. I've run this same test from Outlook (on my Boot Camp Windows OS) and there is no difference in receiving emails. I have to believe that something in Entourage doesn't like the smpt or pop.bizmail.yahoo.com protocol. I am interested in any fixes you might have for this situation. Thanks.  - Yahoo not syncing. Although my first problem might be that I have absolutely no experience with Entourage or any other similar product, I am having some issues with syncing my Yahoo account to Entourage. It claims there are errors in my password and/or account name, which I know to be untrue. I was successful in syncing my Comcast account; why isn't Yahoo working?  - Phantom folders in Entourage 2008 using IMAP Hi, I am using Entourage 2008 with an IMAP connection. When I initially setup the account, Entourage created default folders for Drafts, Junk E-Mail, Sent Items. I then went into account setup and pointed Entourage to pre-existing folders on the IMAP server. How can I refresh the folder list so these automatically created folders will disappear? Currently, if I try to delete them I get an error message. For example, if I try to delete the Junk E-Mail folder I get an error message: Unknown Mailbox: Junk E-mail (Failure)... Error 1025.  - Preview Pane Border Is there any way to reduce/remove the thick border that Entourage 2008 puts around the preview pane? My wife has poor vision and runs her monitor at 800x500 resolution (to enlarge everything on the screen). She's quite happy with Entourage 2004, but Entourage 2008 is virtually unusable because at that resolution the border on the preview pane (coupled with the other non-reducible elements) reduces the visible amount of preview text by approximately 3 lines from 5 lines to 2 lines.  - Entourage 08 sync with Blackberry I recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 08 and the ability to sync with my Blackberry has stopped. I receive an error message of " Could not locate the Microsoft Entourage Office Synchronization Tool " I have used the PocketMac SyncManager from Blackberry when running Entourage 04 with no issue for quite some time.  - Entourage 2004 sync problem We are having a problem with Entourage 2004-We are connecting to MS exchange server 2003 with Entourage on our Macs. We started having a problem on some e-mail accounts. It Usually happens when we set up the account on Entourage. Usually due to a reinstall. Entourage will start downloading all of their e-mail and folders but somewhere along the download it stops downloading their email. So you have some email in the inbox as well as in the folders, but it never downloads all. then it continuously says updating inbox, folders, etc, but in reality it has stopped downloading. Once it stops downloading the emails it just stays in this updating folders mode. It will keep switching folders it says it is updating but it never stops or gives an error. We have tried reinstalling, making sure we have all the updates for the OSX and MS office, but no luck. We run into this error on Tiger and Leopard even on fresh installs. Firstly, suspected junk email doesn't go to the Junk Mail folder but stays in the Inbox (I have filtering set to "High")... Secondly, "Block Sender" doesn't work as mail still arrives from senders I have blocked several times... Thirdly, what does "Apply Junk Email Protection" do (it comes up as an option on folders when control-clicked)... And lastly a suggestion - it would be great if email folders could be highlighted as projects, so they appeared in the project colours, making it easier to associate project emails with their correct folder.  - mail won't remain on server I have been having a problem trying to get mail from one of my accounts to remain on the server, so that I can access it from a different location. It's a gmail account, which I access as a POP. For a long time, I purposely had it so that when it downloaded to Entourage, it would only be there. However, I have decided I would like it to stay on the server now. I tried to do this by checking the "leave a copy of each message on the server" checkbox. However, nothing has changed....the gmail site stil won't pull up e-mail that has been downloaded to my version of Entourage. I've tried unchecking this box, saving, then reopening and rechecking the box, but still, my email refuses to stay on the server.  - How do I send a calendar event to someone via email I'm using Entourage and Outlook as my main calendars/Address Book. I use Outlook because it will sync directly with my Windows Mobil 6 Phone without the hassle of iCal and Address Book. I also use Pocket Quicken and that's not supported on the Mac. With that said Outlook is here for a while until someone can figure out how to sync with Entourage without going through iSync (categories are lost which are very important to me) I can send anyone a calendar event or address card from Outlook, like my wife, so she doesn't have to enter all of the data, just open the attachment to the email and save it in her Outlook. I want to be able to do the same thing when I schedule a calendar event (I do not want to use the Invite Function because it doesn't recognize my email address and I don't want it listed as a Task) in Entourage. I do this to share events with others and my Outlook file. Export won't let me export just one event. There has to be a way of using Entourage email to send a calendar event but I can't find the solution anywhere on Mactopia. Any help is appreciated. I can send an address card from Entourage via email even-though some data gets corrupted (address fields in particular) and category's get dropped. Thanks for your help.  - Saving the sent mail in the Inbox Hi all, I am using Entourage 2008 and I have an Exchange account setup in it (from work). Now at work we use Outlook 2003 and I have a rule that saves a copy of all the outgoing messages in the Inbox. And I am looking to replicate the same functionality in Entourage, but so far I am unable to. I wasn't able to find a way to specify that the rule should apply only to outgoing messages. Is it possible to do this? If yes, how? If the rule route doesn't work, is it possible to somehow set the "sent mails" folder to be the Inbox for an Exchange account? If yes, how?  - Cut and Paste From WORD 2008 I just installed Office 2008 at work and tried to cut and paste a table from a WORD doc onto a webpage in Dreamweaver.  - Entourage 2008 and Exchange 2000 Hello, I am having a strange issue. We have an exchange 2000 server which will be upgrading here soon. We have a MAC user that uses Entourage 2008, well it syncs fine and looks like it is running great. We have noticed though that it isnt receiving all the email. It doesnt receive half the sharepoint announcements or even some email in the internal contacts. So we have to load up OWA once in while to see what emails he is missing. It doesnt make much since to me. I have added the internal domain to safe senders to see if that would be the problem, but that didnt seem to help, any ideas?  - Entourage OSX rebuilds don't seem to work Hi, my e-mail capacity was 3ish gigs, but last night, I suddenly couldn't attach a couple of documents to an outgoing e-mail. I quit Entourage and started a typical rebuild. The message came back, telling me there was not enough room to rebuild, even though I have ample space on my hard drive. I finally ditched 12 gigs of stuff and was able to do a rebuild. I've done both typical and advanced and each time, the message comes up to compact my e-mail because I have reached the 4 gig capacity. It won't let me into my e-mail so I can dump some stuff.  - Mail merge through Entourage Hi, Today I wanted to mailmerge a document and send it via Entourage to my contacts. But when Entourage attempt to send off my emails, then the error -17099 (recipient email must contain a domain) and -3260 (Entourage can not connect to the server, Verify that your computer is connected to the network) occur. What is a girl to do? I have contacted my ISP who says that I should be able to send up to 15 emails at a time, so the number of emails does not seem to be the problem.  - saved messages gone while updating I bought another copy of Office for Mac (2004) so that two people can use office on our network and thought I had saved messages on my computer but when I started up new copy none of those messages would import. I can't find them anywhere. Were they overwritten? I tried dragging Office out of the trash and putting newer copy into trash, starting Entourage. New screen, all messages seem to have vanished.  - Bad Syntax Error -17099 I am using MS Entourage 2004 on OS X and am receiving the following error when I send/receive: Bad recipient address syntax. Explanation: Mail could not be sent. Error: -17099 I know the email where the bad syntax occurs, however I already deleted it from my Sent folder (and also from the deleted folder) in order to resolve the error. I STILL get the error and am unable to find the "problem" email since I deleted it. Is it still haunting me from beyond the deleted files grave?  - Exporting entourage calendar to exchange We recently installed an exchange server and I am in the process of getting everything moved and set up on the server. I am currently using Entourage 2004, V 11.4.0 and can't figure out how to export or move all of my historic, current, and future calendar entries to the exchange calendar. I tried doing an export and selecting only the calendar but it returns an error (something about group contacts) and will not complete the export. Sounds more like a Leopard issue. Have you applied the latest Leopard combo?
