 - SPAM with ENTOURAGE I'm receiving every day 15 SPAM's email from one of my account. I use to delete them every day, but once I create a Rule in Entourage to delete those SPAM at the beginning (sending them to Delete Files folder), "voila", at the other day appear more than double SPAM's mails. I have to add every day new criteria for the SPAM rule.  - e-mail with wrong future date Hello, I have got an email in my folder that dates 12/20/2006, which is the wrong date as it is still November 2006. I got the e-mail one week ago and it had the right date then. It was only after I had replied to the e-mail that it got assigned a new, wrong date. Does anybody know why this happens?  - OWA session times out The Mac users (10.4.x) here making connections to OWA (Exchange 2003) with either Safari or FireFox, get their session 'timed-out' after about 10 minutes of idle time. Forcing them to re-authenticate. The server does have an idle time out setting applied, but it's much, much higher than that. The PC clients can hang out idle, up to the server specified time out setting. This is repeatable on many machines with various versions of Tiger. What's going on?  - Email Message aren't viewable I have created html formatted emails in asp.net that get sent out using Smtpmail.Send. It creates a two part mime email message that the body of the email does NOT viewable in Entourage. If you look at the source it is there, but it does not show. When looking at the source of the email. My opinion is that because it starts off with Content-Type: text/plain; then switches it to Content-Type: text/html; that this 2 part message confuses Entourage.  - iCal/E2004: how to force sync? How often does Entourage send info to the Sync database, and how frequently does iCal retrieve it? Is it upon quit or relaunch, or some other timed interval?  - Moving Entourage's Spotlight metadata I'd like to home Entourage's Spotlight metadata on an encrypted volume, but I would prefer not to use FileVault since it'll slow down every disk access in my home directory (and indeed it does). I've tried creating a symbolic link in ~/Library/Caches/Metadata called Microsoft that points to /Volumes/myvolume/Metadata and after switching on Spotlight searching, I do get to search my Entourage messages, etc. The problem is that with this setup, Entourage never adds to the cache. If I rebuilt the cache, nothing happens (that is, the old cache is not deleted). If I symlink ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Microsoft/Entourage/2004/Main\ Identity to a directory on my encrypted volume and then rebuild, Entourage renames "Main Identity" to ".-Main Identity" and rebuilds a new cache in my home directory in the usual place.  - How do I recover local files? On Friday, Entourage did a crash of some sort and when the program re-opened, all the local folders disappeared.  - 8525 - Activesync Sent Messages to Mac Entourage Sent Box are garbled I know the issue below is a problem recognized by MS. Is there a workaround (reading the sent email with another program is not an acceptable workaround) so the sent message can be properly read in Entourage?? When I send a message it syncs with the sent box in MS's Entourage on my Apple laptop - as it should. The issue is the message in the Entourage sent box is garbled - see below. However, the message received in a recipient's inbox, and on the 8525 Sent folder, is fine - has the to, from, and message.  - Pasting emails into Entourage Trying to send a big email to a bunch of people who didn't get hard copies of my lecture at a conference recently.  - attachment problem Hi, I have recently started using entourage 2004 on my G4 Mac which is running OSX 10.4. The problem I have is that when I attach a .jpeg or a pdf file to a message the recipient receives the message but the attachment is just a mess of code and the accompanying error says 'This message is in MIME format. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible'. I have tried sending in html format with the same result. What am I doing wrong?  - Entourage Support in HMC 4/Exchange 2007 Will tehre be any enhancements with entourage in exchange 2007 and how compatible will it be with HMC 4 for the multi tenanted hosted exchange environment.  - Sending Attached Files from Excel/Word using Entourage I have set Entourage as my default email program from with Mail, when I try to send a file from Excel or Word (using File->Send To->Mail Recipient (as attachment), it places it in a new email using Mail.  - Downloading All Messages Hi I use an Exchange Server for my job here at Indiana University. My problem is this. On my windows based computer and actually every windows based computer I have ever set outlook up on, when I first check it, it downloads every e-mail I have ever sent. I love that, it is great and very useful. I have done this on many computers. The first time I set up outlook on a new workstation and put my info in it takes 10 min on the first check to download all of my old messages and from then on it works fast. Now here is my problem. I have just gotten a mac. I used entourage for a little bit but it was very unstable. Everytime I would write an e-mail it would crash. So now I use the Mail program that comes with Mac Os x. My issue is on both of these programs it will only download new messages. So basically I check my e-mail, on my mac, poof something is there. I read it, when I go home and update my windows based pc by checking my e-mail i get that same message but it indicates it has been read by not bolding it. I go back to my Mac computer...Check it, That e-mail is gone. For me it is very benefical to have all of my e-mail on my macbook, yet I have not found a way to download all of the messages.  - Change Palm sync preferences? Hi, I've just deleted a whole bunch (about 3 years worth) of old calendar entries after archiving them. Currently I have my Palm/Entourage sync preferences set to "merge" - how would I change this to "Entourage override Palm" so that it doesn't just re-import all the things I just painstakingly deleted?  - Entourage- not responding It was working fine... then decided to not respond. No messages or prompts at all... just keeps the rainbow disc twirling. I've verified the database and there is no corruption. I've also compact and back up the current database files. Im not sure what else I can do... it is not responding to anything.  - Won't download email Hi, I have had Entourage for a couple of years and it has recently decided that it doesn't recognize that I am hooked up to the internet and won't download email. I get the following message: Entourage cannot connect to the server. Verify that your computer is connected to the network. My Mac is always connected to the internet via a cable connection.  - How Can I sync between Outlook and Entourage Hello, My company uses Microsoft Exchange server to handle all of our email. I use Outlook at work, and I set up Entourage at home just so I can work at home sometimes. Basically, I want my info to stay on the server, so when I check at work, I get everything, and when I come home, I get everything again. I want my calendars synced up too. I asked IT, but they said since my Mac at home wasn't company property, they won't support it. So I'm wondering, is this something I can do, or do they have to turn the right switches on their end?  - need help seriously I'm on a Mac powerbook g4, running entourage 2004. When I restarted my computer a little while ago, and clicked on my Entourage icon to go to my mail, it prompted me as a new user to choose identity; when I chose my identity, it was completely empty, no emails, no address book contacts, no junk mail, no projects, NOTHING! I found the database in the documents folder, but when I try to import into Entourage to get all my stuff back it is greyed out and I cannot access anything. I really need some help here and wonder if anyone else could help me. If I do recover everything, I am seriously considering bailing out of Entourage as it is so scary; second time I have had near miss with all my data, in fact lost 1.5 months worth of data in October...any suggestions about more stable email programs for me?  - Inbox Problem Hello, This am, all of a sudden, incoming mail started going straight to the inbox under "Folders On My Computer" instead of the inbox that is linked to my exchange server acct. I looked it up in the help docs - says that it is impossible for that to happen - that all exchange mail goes to the server inbox and that you have to move it manually to the inbox on your computer. A little later a message or two would go to the proper inbox, but 95% of my mail is still going directly to the local inbox - and there is nothing that is common among the messages that actually make it to the right place. I have no rules or junk mail filtering set up - junk mail is filtered by the server and is still going into the correct junk mail folder on the server. Any ideas? Thanks PS.  - Entourage having trouble accessing Exchange I am receiving the following error: Mail could not be received at this time. The server for account ... Returned the error "Login failure: unknown user name or bad password." Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password? I am connected to Exchange Server 2003. This worked for a couple of weeks without any problems. Now when I open Entourage, the error consistently comes up and will not allow me to fully download my e-mail. This seems to be a common issue and was hoping someone could let me know whether this is an Exchange Server issue or an issue with Entourage.  - Change FROM address in Entourage 2004 In Outlook in Windows I am used to having four different addresses that I use as FROM addresses. That way, I can answer business and private mail from the same mailbox. Also, I can choose to let only some people see my true mailbox address. Anyway, the way I did this in Outlook was to have my Exchange account set up and then simply set up three dummy POP3 accounts with the remaining three addresses. In Entourage I can't seem to find a way to do this. If I switch identities all my mail is gone from the Exchange account and anyway it seems a bit much to close down and restart the program just to change the FROM address. Is there a way to get the FROM address field to show when I create a new mail in Entourage and how do I then set up multiple from addresses?  - Rules: Move message makes option greyed out Hi, I have a dilemma. Have a general rule for mails to a certain account to be moved into a certain folder. But some of these mails are replies to an invitation to join a mailing list. I am trying to make the sender of these mails to be included in a "group". These particular mails have a special subject line which I'm using to separate them from other mails. But since the general rule about moving all messages is greying out the option to uncheck the "Do not apply other rules to messages that meet this criteria", I can't make them included to the group.  - Visual Notification of New Mail has stopped working Anyone else having issues with visual notification of new emails? I used to have the pop up on the lower right corner of my screen.  - Recurrent "Database is Damaged" problem SOLVED (so far) BACKGROUND: I'm running Entourage 11.2.5 under Mac OS 10.4.8. Recently, I started experiencing the application slowing to a crawl (click on a folder; 5 minutes later, the folder respond) or just not responding at all. I used FontBook to find and remove some damaged fonts (I recalled this trick from a similar problem a couple of years ago), and voila--problem fixed. I have no idea if this problem relates to the current problem; I offer it as background. CURRENT PROBLEM: This week, I began getting the dreaded "Your Office database is damaged...do you want to quit and run the repair utility yada yada" message. I ran the utility to repair the DB, but after a few minutes of the app working fine, the message would appear again. Canceling it only caused it to reappear moments later I ran the repair 4 or 5 times before looking in this forum for help. I saw several messages saying it had to do with upgrading to 11.2.3 from 11.2.1 (I'm way past that), and others with other suggestions. But I also noticed that several replies from MS people happened to mention that you need to quit Microsoft Notifications before running the repair. I'm sure I did that--the app won't let you run the utility otherwise--but this triggered something in my lizard brain about Office Notifications, and I began to suspect it. So I trashed its preferences (/Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.OfficeNotifications.plist). Lo and behold, I haven't had a problem since.  - Exchange Server won't accept username / password from Entourage Client Hi all... I have 4 users with the same problem as follows: Macs running OS 10.4.8, Entourage v11.2.5 They have all been able to authenticate to the corporate Exchange Server without any problems until last week. No known changes have been made to the Server, although I can't be certain of this. Each of these Mac users also has a Dell running Windows XP Pro in their cubes and they have no problem connecting. They are required to change their passwords monthly which they do on the PC and then connect with the Macs. This hasn't been a problem until recently.  - How to eliminate noise/garbage characters from preview pane Hello: Does anyone have any advice on preventing noise or garbage characters from showing up in the preview pane of emails in my Entourage for MAC version 11.2.5. I have rebuilt the email account, but that doesn't help. Sometimes shutting the program and restarting helps temporarily but the noise keeps creeping back into the preview pane.  - preserving Entourage rules when mailbox is moved from one exchange server to another Hi folks, Our sysadmins are windoze guys. They're doing some work on our exchange infrastructure which involves relocating individual mailboxes which include things like rules, subfolders, etc. Everything seems to be working for windoze users.. but us Mac users using Entourage seem to need to re-create all of our rules every time the sysads move one of our accounts' mailboxes.  - Printing messages with attachments This was posted back in July and didn't get any replies. It exactly describes the issue I'm having, so I'm re-posting. Anyone able to print lists of attachments in Entourage? Is there some way of printing message text only, without attachments, BUT that includes a list of the attachments? I often send messages with PDF attachments and I want a hard-copy archive of the message showing which attachments were included, but without actually printing the attachment.  - Entourage folder polling, can this be scheduled? We use Entourage 11.2.5, all running Tiger 10.4.8. It seems that many of our users are experiencing long lags or delays because Entourage polls all the user created folders, but not according to the Send & Receive schedule. Some of our users have A LOT of folders, so Entourage polls and syncs them all and it takes a long time. My question; is there any way to adjust this polling schedule or turn it off completely, but still maintain the regular Send & Receive schedule? Tag: Won't authenticate Tag: 71631

 - Sending Emails i've been using Entourage for some time now with no problem. however i'm trying to send an email with an attachment to over 200 people and it wont let me. i've checked all the email data and cant find any problems (spaces etc), i've also removed the attachments and still cant send it. i assume its a problem with the data, could someone give me examples of problems with email addresses that could be causing the problem. many thanks Ben Carter Tag: Won't authenticate Tag: 71623

 - Subfolders missing Hello, 2 of our users are using Entourage 2004 in IMAP mode with email hosted on Exchange. Since the email server was rebuilt one user cannot get subfolders at all after the account was recreated at the client end, and the other one can see the subfolders but they are greyed out.  - Auto archive script Hi Guys, I am trying to use the Auto Archive script found here : http://www.entourage.mvps.org/exchange/autoarchive.html I have changed the number of days from 60 to 10, (I have only been using Entourage for 3 weeks!!), but it doesn't seem to moved the e-mails to the Archive folders it creates...  - Equivalent in Entourage to 'Others' in PC version of Office Outloo I have a Mac for video editing but use a PC in my main office with Outlook the start point for just about most things I do. In Others (next to Calender, Contacts,mail etc) I have many shortcuts (or aliases) to various folders and web pages but Entourage (which I'd like to use on my G5) does not seem to have an equivalent. Am I missing something obvious or is there another way I can (in one place) have all my most frequently used shortcuts? Thanks (Various Apple stores have been no help at all! Access is fine via web browser.

We've deleted and rebuilt accounts through entourage - same problem.

Anyone heard of it?

Try deleting the keychain entry for that account and letting Entourage
recreate it.
