I just received a piece of mail with an attachment that reads winmail.dat.
How do I open it on the Macintosh w/Entourage 2004?

Try using Josh Jacob's free "TNEF's Enough"
<http://www.joshjacob.com/macdev/tnef/index.html> application to open it.

Another application that has been around for a long time is TNEF¹s Enough,
by Josh Jacob.<http://www.joshjacob.com/macdev/tnef/>

If you get lots of these, you might want to contact your correspondent and
ask them to reset their mail format from the (MS proprietary) "Rich Text" to
either "Plain Text" or "HTML. If they have you in their Outlook Address Book
they can make a setting to always send you Plain Text automatically.

Why when I get these same documents in gmail can I open and read them,
but coming through Enterage I need to get more non-value added apps
loaded into my computer. Irony: The docs are MSOffice just like
Enterage.
