It sounds as if she might have a rule under Tools/Rules/Exchange that says
to "Move <some messages that match criteria> to Inbox". It can happen that a
rule which was set up to move messages to a different folder (perhaps an
Exchange folder) which no longer exists with the same ID due to a) the
database having been rebuilt, b) possibly re-making the account in Entourage
or otherwise losing the ID, or 3) simply deleting the folder, defaults to
the local Inbox when the folder no longer exists or is misidentified by ID.
"Moving" a message from a server folder to a local folder is actually a
"Copy" followed by a Delete of the original: that's why you're seeing the
original in the Exchange Deleted Items folder.
If you can't find such a rule there, also check the Tools/Mailing List
Manager, and its rules on the Options page of every MLM entry (if any).
