 - Ent Freezing on StartUp I have just noticed a new (to me) problem with ENT 2004 V 11.2.3 on startup. It load, POPs the mail and freezes. The only escape is to use the OSX Force Quit. When I restart everything works fine. I would appreciate some tips on what may be causing the problem and how to stop the Entourage Screen Freeze.  - Blind Carbon Copies Does anyone know how I, as the sender, can see who all I've Bcc'd so that I have that list for my records?  - Problem viewing HTML in Entourage Since the latest round of MS patches (this week), some users have seen messages come in with blank bodies in Entourage. They can see the body of the message when reading it in OWA, or Outlook on a PC, etc. They can also see the contents of the body if they view the source in Entourage. After troubleshooting the issue for a little, I nailed the problem down to happening under the following circumstances: A rich client (IE on PC) user using OWA replies to, or forwards a message to a recipient using Entourage. Things work fine if the OWA user makes a New message, this only seems to be a problem when forwarding or replying. Looking at the differences between the source codes of the new message that is visible in Entourage and a reply that is not visible in Entourage shows some differences that would probably make more sense if I knew my way around code but here goes my attempt to describe it: In the messages that are visible in Entourage (New message from OWA) the source code starts out with <html> then <head> followed by a bunch of good stuff then a </head> to close that part out as would be expected, followed by the body. In the messages that don't display the body in Entourage, it starts with <HTML dri=ltr> then <HEAD> followed by some other good stuff, but where I'd expect to see the close head there's this instead <BASE href=HEAD>. There's no </head> in the code at all. It just goes to the body after that line. I might be missing something but this seems like a problem. Maybe most browsers and email clients make the assumption that if they see the body starting and don't see the head section closed, it's ok to move onto the body, I'm not sure. I'd be interested to see if anyone else out there can duplicate the problem. I have Exchange 2003 servers patched to the current levels (OS and Exchange).  - Entourage calendar/time zone problem I'm using Entourage 11.2.3. Ever since the switch to daylight savings time, when I add a new calendar event I get the warning "Event and computer time zones do not match. In Calendar views, the even time is adjusted to display correctly". What's going on? The computer time zone is correct, and in Entourage preferences the default time zone is also set correctly.  - Auto booking or direct resource booking Has anyone found a solution for automating the booking process for a resource in Entourage? I know there is an Exchange App called "Auto Accept Agent" this tool may be great for a conference room where you do not want a conflict or a double booking. However, we need a way to accept double bookings or even 5-6 bookings in a day, which the Auto Accept Agent does not allow (unless there is a way to make it allow conflicts).  - Emails gone missing A friend of mine uses entourage on the mac and I am trying to help her. She is fairly computer illiterate and lives remotely from me so I would be greatful if you could help me guess what she may have done. She had a bunch of emails saved in folders. She wanted to send these to someone else and, the way she describes it, she dragged the emails out of their folders into another area and then sent the resulting email ... I am not familiar with entourage but I am guessing that she dragged them from the folders where they were saved onto a mail message to add them as attachments. However, this seems to have removed all the dragged emails from her folders and she can't find them any more.  - Entourage fails to launch OS 10.4.6 Entourage 2004 latest version. Exchange 2003 An error occurred while launching entourage Permission to launch this file was denied. This could be caused by the file being open in another application. I have reinstalled, updated etc. If I delete the user prefs. I can open everytime, but only once. Further research.... If I delete these 2 files I can open Entourage, but only once. Delete the newly created ones and it opens again but only once. and so on,etc..  - Shared Project (1000+ Contacts) Crashing Database Daemon / 16008 Error I have many networked users with networked homes served on an Xserve. All run Office 11.2.3 locally. A shared project is set up on one for the sole purpose of sharing contacts with the others (which I think is the only way to share contacts over a LAN). The project folder is in the group's networked folder. Works fine with 500 or so contacts, but when I add over 1000 contacts the users are hit repeatedly with two error windows: first, saying the Database Daemon needs to restart, and second, that an unknown error (16008) has occured.  - Entourage freezing when started. I'm currently using Entourage 2004 and I attempted to send out 2 emails that came back with errors and now when I open entourage it freezes upon startup. I think if I could delete the emails from the outbox, it wouldn't freeze but I can't even get it to open and run at all. I'm not sure how to fix this, any help would be great. Thanks!  - Migrating from Exchange 5.5 to 2003 We've finally got our Exchange 2003 Server installed and I'm going to be one of the guinea pigs for the migration. I'm currently accessing Exchange 5.5 on Entourage 2004 (on the latest Tiger SP) as an IMAP account. What gotchas are in store when I switch to Exchange 2003? I'm planning on going through OWA. I know my old Exchange server side rules won't migrate, but I have most of those duplicated in Entourage, so I'm not too concerned about that. What does concern me is possibly duplicating a ton of messages on my PowerBook. I'm downloading message bodies so I can do Spotlight searches. Am I going to wind up doing a very large download when I turn on the new Exchange account? Any hints from others who have gone through this process?  - Calendar--events aren't diplayed correctly because time zones don't match I have an interesting problem on a user's machine which all meetings in Entourage are complaining that the time zone in Entourage and on the machine do not match, when in fact they do. Therefore meeting behavior is a little out of whack and not working 100%. I ran the database utility to rebuild the database, but the problem persists. Any ideas of where to go next? As an old timer, I'd hate to have to learn how to utilize another program (due to the time factor). Being retired requires attempting to assist others -often at once... Perhaps someone could help me?  - entrouge attachment stuffit Whenever I try to attach an item to my 2004 Entrouge e-mail, I get a message that reads, Alladin systems Stuffit must be installed in order to attach the item to a message. I do have stuffit 10.0 installed on my MacPro. I have also checked the append file extensions on both preferences and in the attachment pane on e-mail message.  - ENTER button on the 10 key side I suppose we all want perfection, deep down inside. And I'm no different, especially when something really SHOULD work as designed. I have a brand new I-MAC 17" with the Intel processor, Mac white keyboard, Mighty Mouse-my first MAC product and I love it. I upgraded the memory to two - 1gb chips, 2gb total purchased from OWC. That, and Microsoft Office 2004 for MAC, are the only modifications made to the machine. My issue is a seemingly petty one but I can't stand it anymore. The ENTER button on the 10-key pad is non-functional in Entourage-and ONLY Entourage. All the other keys work fine, the enter button works in all other apps and this is the only real issue I have with the new machine. I have scrolled through the Apple chat threads and cannot find anything relating to this specific issue, although there are many new owners having other issues with their new keyboards. I have consulted with my computer-whiz son, and even he cannot find any references to this type of problem. At this stage, I am open to suggestions. Any help is greatly appreciated.  - Import mbox? Don't understand I have os x 10.4.6. I have entourage x version 10.1.6 I have backed up my MUD... I have deleted all my inbox in one mud. I want to move just the inbox mail from the backup to this identities. I have an mbox on my desktop, but don't know how to get them where I want them.  - Is there a shortcut key for this? I use the "Command =" Add To Address Book feature all the time; when a new person email comes in, and I want to add them to my Address book, it only takes a second with that shortcut. The new contact window then appears and it's in the Summary view. I'm wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut that will allow me to get into the Name & Email tab (or any other tab) without reaching for my mouse and doing it manually.  - Paul Berkowitz help? Thanks for the group mailer i have finally made it work. But i have a big problem and i have been looking into it today and don't know how to sort it out. I had sent over 1000 emails to some of my addresses in my database and they did not record in the last correspondence or if i go into their address card it says i never have emailed them. I have saved the emails in groups of 60 and used your separate group messages to send them so i have a record of the group in the address book in the different groups and have each email in the sent folder but not in the listings ( last message sent - never) in my address book so it is going to be impossible to find out who i have sent emails to or is there a way to import that info back into my address book or mail? i have thought of ways to group them all into one group and go through one by one but that is going to take a long time and i don't know how i am going to mark each one so i know that i have sent an email. Any ideas? i can only think of opening up in file/new/open new window and it opened up a window called mail 2 instead of address book but as i sent each group it recorded it on the last correspondence so i think i might have force quited it but not for 2 days so i am confused.  - Error when deleting files from a public folder Using entourage X mail client attatching to 2003 exchange public folder. I can put files into and I can access files. When I delete them using the entourage client, I get an error that states " ERROR An Error accurred on the IMAP server Explanation The server returned the following error.  - Calendar Permissions Recently, I have had three users that having difficulties accessing their permissions for their own calendar to make adjustments. When the user accesses their calendar for permissions, Entourage returns an error "Entourage cannot connect to the exchange server to retrieve permissions." I had this problem in the beginning of September when the update was first applied to my client, but a few weeks later, the problem cleared for my calendar. The only resource I have found that is related is this article: http://blogs.msdn.com/entourage/archive/2005/09/21/472436.aspx Things that I have tried so far include the following: 1. New identity (Profile) setup with a new account setup. 2. I have tried another Entourage client on another computer. 3. Ensured that the Entourage client was fully operational with current updates. 4. So far, it seems that users that are on one particular exchange server, the permissions for the calendar work fine.  - Last correspondence in Entourage not saved? I have been sending "separate group messages" from my entourage 2004 and i think i force quit because i was trying to do a search in my address book and it was taking a long time. I have been sending 500 emails a day for 2 days and they have not shwon up in last correspondence unlike my first 2 days. I have saved them in groups so i know whicj ones i have emailed and i have saved in my sent folder on my computer. But i can not see them when i go into addres book and look at them in a list version which is the way i have been sending before so i can see who i have already sent them to. I can only think that they were not saved when i forced quit but i do not remember doing that for 2 days only one.  - duplicate email addresses In Entourage 2004, I have one entry in my address book for "John Q. Public" with one email address, "john.public@example.org". When I compose a message and start typing "John" in the To: field, *two* entries appear -- one for "John Public" and one for "John Q. Public". Both use the same email address. I've looked all over for the "John Public" address. It's not in the address book (I tried searching by email address). Does Entourage store email addresses anywhere else besides in the address book?  - Importing Outlook .csv files to Entourage fails I hav downloaded a .csv calendar file designed for Outlook (it is my home MLB schedule). I would like to import that into Entourage. The file is seen by Entourage when I go to Import -> Text file but I can not do any mapping of the field values to calendar items. I see all the contact fields but no calendar fields. Is it possible to import these kinds of files into Entourage. I do have outlook and it works fine there. Can I export a format from Outlook that will import into Entourage?  - Remove an attachment from any e-mail message and still leave them on server I am running Entourage version 11.2.3 I go to my sent items and select the messages with attachments, then I go to the messages menu and select remove attachments. I do get the message that the attachments have been removed. However, I check the mailbox through webmail and the messages are intact with the attachments still taking up space.  - Mac OS and Windows Compatability-Entourage routing It seems like I am the only one who has this concern, but would like to find out if anyone else is having this problem, and what might be the solution to it. I have heard that the Mac version of Entourage does not have the same capability as the Windows version, specifically the ability to rout a file. In Entourage for Windows, one can rout a file to a list of people in which each one receives the file consecutively, and then passes (emails) it on to the next person. I have a Mac, G5, OS 10.4.5. I would like to do this with my Mac and rout the file on to each person in my company who are on PC's, in the order of my list, . Is it true that the Mac version of Entourage does not have this routing capability? I would really appreciate any help anyone would be able to give to me. Thanks so much.  - Database Crashed, Inbox Emptied Greetings! This is a scary one, but I am trying to find an answer to something that I have never seen this before... I have a user, who's Entourage data base went south. Entourage 2004's (11.2.3) repair DB could not successfully repair the DB, which was about 1.6gb in size. I moved the Microsoft User Data folder from the Documents folder to the root of her Home folder and reconfigured her Exchange profile with a new one. Ready for this... When Entourage connected and began it's first sync with the new profile, her inbox was empty along with all of her subfolders. I even checked with our Exchange admin just to be sure, and he said her inbox was empty. Did, somehow, the DB decide to delete all of her email and subfolders from her inbox when the DB went corrupt?! Any clues/hints/explanation to this mystery would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!  - mail error - help ! iwth apple mac 10.4.5 and entourage 10.1.4 hi i am using a apple mac with system softtware " 10.4.5 and entourage vers : 10-.1.4 i have searched the database of info on my mail error but cant find a alternative solution to my problem the issue is that i have a curuption of some sort - this is leading to e-mails being greyed out and then complete folders (mainly my in box) being greyed out on one e-mail which i cannot delete it also quits when i try to click on it or delete it i have tried the standard and advanced rebuild but it sometime goes through and nothing is improved, it does not complete it or it completes but states it cannot do it and the database is dmaged (a) are there any other actions i can take (b) if i reinstall will it wipe my database or 30,000 e-mails ! thanks nic Tag: Viewing Entourage Calendars in Color Tag: 66316

 - Losing mail with IMAP Using Entourage 2004 11.2.3 and Mac OS 10.4.6. I have 5 IMAP accounts and 1 POP account. After a week or more, or sometimes a month, I find that some messages stored on the IMAP server are not being displayed in Entourage. I have two computers, a Powerbook and desktop. I will remember receiving an e-mail on my Powerbook and then not be able to find it on the desktop machine. After rebuilding the database, not compressing it, the mail will be downloaded from the IMAP server again when I launch Entourage and it downloads all of my messages and IMAP mailboxes. This is rather disconcerting, because I can never trust if Entourage is always displaying the exact contents of my IMAP mailboxes. Is there some kind of fix? Thanks.  - Please help! Entourage routing In Entourage for Windows, one can rout a file to a list of people in which each one receives the file consecutively, and then passes (emails) it on to the next person. I have a Mac, G5, OS 10.4.5. I would like to do this with my Mac and send the file on to everyone else in my company who are on PC's.  - Shared Project (1000+ Contacts) Crashing Database Daemon / 16008 Error I have many networked users with networked homes served on an Xserve. All run Office 11.2.3 locally. A shared project is set up on one for the sole purpose of sharing contacts with the others (which I think is the only way to share contacts over a LAN). The project folder is in the group's networked folder. Works fine with 500 or so contacts, but when I add over 1000 contacts the users are hit repeatedly with two error windows: first, saying the Database Daemon needs to restart, and second, that an unknown error (16008) has occured. I want to share my Entourage calendar within my work group, however,
when my co-workers view the calendar that I've shared, all entries
appear in gray. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way for
the entries to appear in color?

No, unfortunately calendar event categories are not shared if you share the
calendar. That is a good feature request, however. In Entourage X or 2004,
go to Help > Send Feedback on Entourage to submit the feature request.
