 - Cancelling a Rule I set up a rule to put emails from certain people in a specific folder but I guess I didn't set it up right because all new incomming mail went there. I tried to delete the rule and start over but it doesn't show up when I do Tools>Rules. The window is blank, under all the MAIL POP / MAIL IMAP / MAIL HOTMAIL / etc menues nothing shows up. I deleted the folder everything was being filed into, and started over with two new rules, which workfine, except that when I get new mail an error message comes up saying: Error: the mailing list rule "timesheet" could not be successfully executed. Explanation: The message could not be filed because the destination folder cannot be found. So obviously the rule is sitting somewhere. I tried deleting the preferences for entourage from the preferences folder in my library (I'm using OS X) but that didn't work. Tag: Using Entourage on MACs with Exchange Server Tag: 69722

 - Entourage and Address Book OSX--Integration with Quickbooks? Hi Does anyone know if Quickbooks name and address and email system can be integrated somehow with the Entourage address book on an OSX system? Quickbooks says that it can integrate with the Address Book OSX, but I am not sure if that is the functionality embedded in the Entourage software.  - Entourage 2004 & Hosted Exchange Hi, I'm having some problems setting Entourage 2004 up working with a hosted exchange. I have all the settings for Outlook 2003 and they work just fine. One of the main reason I think that I can get Entourage 2004 to work is that there is no where I can find to enter the Proxy server settings.  - entourage strange behavior Hi everyone, i use the last Entourage version (11.2.5) on mac os 10.4.7. Email account on POP. I would like to know if you have met that kind of incident : My entourage was strange, each time i was using entourage it was freezing my system. So we decided to launch the database utility to repair entourage. After restoring the database we launched Entourage, there was a lot of mail in the sent box and Entourage decided to send some old mails to my contacts. The problem, there wasn't mails to be send before i restore the database. I'm thinking it's because there was a corrupt database, but does someone can explain me why it happens ?? thx for all !!  - Spotlight not working; 11.2.5 on Macbook Reposting here with some more information. Still am not able to get Spotlight to search my Entourage messages. 11.2.5 OS 10.4.7 MacBook Spotlight search checked under preferences Rebuilt DB used by Spotlight (preferences) Hi, It would appear that on my MacBook, Spotlight is no longer able to search Entourage at all. I have reindexed using Onyx, and run SpotlightIndexer (indexing the User/library/caches/MS/Entourage/Main ID/ folder) but no luck. I can confirm on my iMac G5 that Spotlight is indexing Entourage fine. Are Mactel users out of luck? Or is it possible to still search Entourage with Spotlight? Thanks in advance.  - winmail.dat! When I receive messages in Entourage having attached MSWord and other MSOffice documents, it comes through as a winmail.dat. Not readable by even a text editor, needless to say. Same e-mail coming though gmail, for example, knows what to do with the attachment. Is there some setting in Entourage that I'm overlooking?? My config.  - Confused about watch folders in Project Center Hi I am a little confused, despite going through all the help files, about how watch folders work. I have set up my Project and all the contacts. Are all the emails from contacts supposed to go in the watch folder? I notice that if I want them to go in there, I have to physically drag them from my Inbox to the watch folder---but that isn't how it is supposed to work, is it? Yet, I still notice that all emails from my contacts or sent with a project tag are appearing in my project mail. So to make it easier to answer, which of these statements is true?? 1. the project watch folder automatically contains copies of the project-related messages that come to my Inbox, so there is no need to drag them there? 2. the watch folders do not contain copies of the messages and I have to drag them there if I want them in there?  - Opening ics attachments in Entourage/saving them into my calendar Hello, I regularly receive ics attachments for appointments I schedule in WebEx. I can double click on the file, and it opens up fine in Entourage. The questions is, how do I get it into my calendar? Nothing seems to work. Making a change to it, then saving it, doesn't work.  - New entourage user I am new to mac, just purchased office 2004 and trying to import my contacts from office 2003 (v 11.6359.6360) to entourage v11.2.5. I tried exporting to .pst from 2003 but entourage apparently cant deal with that except if I am using an exchange server, which I am not. When I print email messages in Entourage, the type seems much larger than I'm used to in Windoze and, frankly, much larger than I'd like.  - Entourage Calendar out of synch w/Exch2003/Outlook/Blackberry Versions: Entourage 2004 (11.2.5) MS Outlook 2003, SP (11.8010.8036) SP2 Exchange 2003 SP2 I use Entourage at work on my powerbook connecting to Exchange 2003. I also have to sign onto a windows box from time to time during the day, and have Outlook 2003 configured there. I also have a Blackberry. Everything was working relatively fine (minor calendar glitches) until we upgraded from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003. Since the upgrade, the blackberry and MS Outlook on the windows box are in synch as far as the calendar goes, but Entourage's calendar has stopped displaying any new items that I create in Outlook or on my Blackberry. Likewise, any new calendar items I create in Entourage do not get propogated to my blackberry or Outlook. Email and contacts all seem to stay in synch just fine between the three.  - Cannot Accept/Decline/add calendar invitations sent from Windows/Mac users ... When I receive a calendar invitation, Entourage 2004 recongnizes the item as an invitation and displays the correct event details (date, recurrence, etc.) However, the Accept/Decline/Tentative buttons are grayed out and I cannot add the event to my calendar.  - I'm missing half of my e-mails. I recently upgraded from OS X 10.2.8 to 10.4.7 plus another 512 ram on my Titanium G4 Powerbook. When reinstalling Entourage, the default identity to which the Entourage updated itself was from June of 2005. So I am missing a year's worth of e-mails and settings. I backed up the Microsoft User Data file before I wiped everything for the new OS so I have the database and preference files on an external drive. Entourage will simply not accept the raw file it seems because when I replace the new blank Identity with the old one and restart Entourage a database utility comes up and tells me to Rebuild the Identity.  - I get error when using old database file - please help I am hopeful someone can help me with this. I use a Mac, and I have a saved copy of the database I need to retrieve some email from. Unfortunately, I think my problem is due to the fact that I didn't duplicate the whole identity folder, just the database and rules files. When I create a new identity folder and put these old files into it, I always get an error message when I try to switch identities. It tells me the database is unreadable and must be rebuilt. I do this. But all the old data is lost and the new database file is only 14mb instead of 1.3 GB. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.  - Entourage tries to connect to Exchange using Port 80 hello, i've got a problem connecting to our exchange server and synchronizing my data. tracing the packets beeing exchanged with the exchange server we noticed, that entourage tries to connect via port 80, which in fact is blocked by the firewall. as i did not configure this value in entourage, i wonder how to change this value to the correct one. to connect to our exchange server i use either a direct connection or a vpn using the cisco vpn client. the problem started to occur since our it guys changed the vpn concentrator and changed our security policy. my question: how can i change entourage's behaviour to connect via port 80? is there a config-file that i need to amend? and if so, which entry do i need to change. any help is highly appreciated ;-) cheers, gerold arheilger Tag: Using Entourage on MACs with Exchange Server Tag: 69656

 - new Entourage users, some questions... Hello, I'm new to Entourage and I have a few questions. I hope someone can answer these. All the questions assume an IMAP setup to a generic IMAP mail server. 1) I have set the view options (columns, grouping, etc.) for my INBOX, but the setting only seem to be for the inbox. How can I set a default set of view options to be applied to all mailboxes? 2) Entourage make lots of noise. Is there a place I can set the beeps and noises? Is there a place to find out what each beep or noise means? 3) I would like to have all my mail locally and on the server. Is there a way to tell Entourage to synchronize all mail (bodies too) for all mailboxes all the time? 4) How do I do the initial sync to get all my mail downloaded locally? 5) Can I back up the Entourage database with Entourage is open?  - Renamed SU on Mac, lost Entourage identity...thoughts? I've used this MacBook w/OS 10.4.7 and Entourage X for the last two months. I'm giving the MacBook to my college bound son, and so I thought I would rename the Super User account (the only account on the MacBook) to his name. I went to System Preferences, Accounts, and renamed the account to Isaac from my name. The short name for some reason stays the same. I changed the password to something he would remember. Made the changes and shut down the machine and went to bed. Next morning, I woke up and logged in, and to my sad surprise the entire user was reset, so that all preferences were gone. Main issue for this area is that Entourage apparently deleted all traces of me and reset the identity that was named my name to Isaac. I tried switching Identies but couldn't find my old one. I searched this group and read many of the posts about this, and looked on the hard drive for some older MUD file or other files but it appears that my identity was reset by this action of renaming the user. On my hard drive, I show a home folder with my old short name on it, which I apparently can't change, and a new folder with my son's name on it. The folder with Isaac's name on it includes much of my old files, my music and pictures, but nothing that I would see as an old MUD file. The other folder, a home folder with my name still on it, is basically a new user setup. Nothing in there other than some basically empty folders, desktop, documents, library music and pictures. Is that accurate? Is there no way to return the emails and notes I made in the last two months? Are there other files I should be looking for? I haven't tried renaming the user back to my name yet, but wanted to check first with this group to see if there were ideas on how to correct this, before making more mistakes. I'm very surprised that a simple change of the name of the SU could reset everything with a loss of data. This doesn't seem to be just MS's issue, as Firefox lost all my preferences, as did everything else. Once I solve this problem, I'll post to a more general Apple Discussion forum. If this is accurate, meaning that renaming the SU resets all SU settings, this is very disturbing. I've been a heavy Windows user and administrator for NT 4 and Windows 2000 Server for over 11 years, and I've never encountered this, though that doesn't mean that it may be possible. I used to do UNIX admin and can't remember ever seeing this happen back then, but it was a while ago on Solaris systems. Any help here on this?  - Entourage and Macbook Pro typing speed? I have a new Macbook Pro. I've used Office for the Mac for about 3.5 years. I'm finding that when I type on Office for the Mac, the characters seem to pop up in a mushy fashion - not quite instantaneously and a bit slow. I have a typing predictor and it seems to display its characters to fill in the balance of the word a bit slowly. Is this normal behavior.  - error 18588 and sent hotmail goes to deleted items folder on my computer I have 2 recurrent problems with entourage: 1. when I send email from my hotmail account with entourage the sent items always end up in the deleted items 'folder on my computer', rather than the sent items folder. They do still reach their recipient. ALSO: 2. When I am sending / receiving hotmail I ALWAYS get the following on the error log: An unknown error (-18588) occurred. The message(s) could not be deleted from the Hotmail folder. Account name: "myhotmailaccname" Because of this I continually get error log messages that come up, and it is annoying. I have noticed that there have been a few emails about this error message, but the only 1 that seems to nearly match my case is over a year old and the topic was closed without a resolution posted.  - Keyboard shortcuts get lost Hi all, When I define new keyboard shortcuts for entourage using System Preferences ( http://www.entourage.mvps.org/script/add_shortcuts.html#add_shortcutSP) then standard keyboard shortcuts stop working. For example, I tried to define a shortcut for increasing the indent (Einzug vergrößern), and that worked. But then I couldn't use the keyboard apple-w any more to save and close the window.  - Blank Email I manage an Exchange server for a mid-size school district. Just recently, Entourage (all clients use version 11.2.5) end users are receiving blank emails from the domain "optonline.net". All other domains apper to be OK (so far). I recently updated our Exchange server to SP2 and installed hotfix 911829, the updated version 6.5.7651.25 that was supposed to fix this problem.  - .imc in Addresses? hello: I hope this isn't a silly question but can anyone explain why some addresses come up with .imc in-bedded in them. When a user sends out mail the person at the other end replies to the message it gets bounced back "No such user". In the address book I have two entries sometimes i.e. "name@imc.company.com" and name@company.com. Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening or point me in the right direction?  - Filling in email addresses I can't stand the fact that Entourage automatically fills in email addresses based on what you've entered previously. Numerous times I'm typing in a work email address but it defaults to a friend's email address with the same name that I've used previously. Is there anyway to turn this option off? Lots of people in my office are tired of this. Also if you type in an incorrect email address it's there forever. Any help would be appreciated.  - Updating all News groups at once I have several Usenet News accounts, each with several subscribed news groups. When I click on each group, it updates with the new messages and displays them. Is there a way I can get all of the groups in a news account to be updated at once so that I only need to look at those with new messages?  - Please Help I am using a Mac G4 operating system 10.3.9. I have purchased a Palm Z22 and I'm not able to sync it to Entourage. I have updated Office in the past week. I can't find the conduit setting and keep getting messages that the sync was interrupted. Please someone help me, I need to be able to use the Z22 now. Do I need to buy Tiger in order to use the Z22?  - Entourage Calendar Time Preference This should be easy for you guys. :-) For the life of me, I can't get the calendar to use AM/PM time format. My system time format is AM/PM as is the other calendar program I'm running. Entourage insists it uses the system settings. Yes, I should probably learn the 24 hour format being that I'm an international gal but it's driving me nuts. I'm running OS10.4.+ and 11.2.5 Entourage. Thanks!  - Calendar event in Entourage 2004 set for PM appears as AM I am running Entourage 2004 on a PowerMac G5 with OSX 10.3.9 on an Exchange 2003 server network environment. After upgrading to the latest update version of Office 2004, v11.2.5 (build 060620) for Entourage, I began to experience a problem with the calendar: When I would accept a meeting from someone else scheduled from 3:00 - 4:00 "PM", it would show up as being from 3:00 - 4:00 "AM" in my calendar. I opened the actual calendar event within Entourage and changed it to "'PM" and saved it. I then quit out of Entourage and re-built the database within Entourage. The problem still exists. I've checked all the settings for preferences and time zones (within the OSX and Entourage) and everything appears to be properly set. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?  - "Entourage has encountered a problem and needs to close..." Greetings, My Entourage fails each time I try to launch it. I get the "Entourage has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" error window. Help! My Netscape is also not working properly. I have tried some of the suggestions on this group, but my Entourage will not even launch. The icon starts to bounce and the error report comes out right away. Holding down the shift key while launching does not work. I have 10.3.9. Suggestions?! calenders between Mac Users? Has this been successful for anyone? Is it

Hi Kate!

Can you elaborate a little about what you mean by "sync up Entourage
calendars between Mac Users"? What's your scenario and what are you
trying to accomplish?

Calendars are meant to be personal and are individualized to a user. Of
course you may be interested in having a "group" calendar or something
similar. You can use Entourage and Exchange to share a calendar among
individuals via Public Folders.
