    - Entourage X & Corrupt Database Hello All, One of our MAC users have been having problems opening emails in Entourage X, which is using POP3 to access an Exchange 5.5. Server. We tried to cure the via the repair options (both standard & advanced). However, the advanced failed and we couldn't open any emails. We therefore, had a look at the POP details and ended up deleting teh POP settings and re- entering them. We have now found that all this persons emails are gone. Is there any way these can be recovered or have they gone permanently? If you could let me know of any ideas as soon as possible as this is urgent i would be eternally grateful.     - entourage 2004 and small business server 2003 - what's webdav??? We've recently upgraded our server software to sbs 2003, from server 2000 and exchange 5.5 So I thought that now exchange is compatible with entourage 2004, I would get rid of the old macs still running outlook in classic mode, and use entourage x and entourage 2004 instead. But I've come across a problem... I can connect to our e-mail fine using entourage x, but can't get it using entourage 2004. It's not a problem with the mail box as I've tried it in entourage x and it works fine. I've heard entourage 2004 needs webdav and LDAP enabled on the server but I have absolutely no idea where to do this in small business server. In entourage 2004 I've tried setting the account up as IMAP as well, and it still doesn't work. I just get an error saying 'Mail could not be received at this time'... and would I like to re-enter the password. When I try and make a new exchange account in entourage 2004 I get a similar error. I've managed to get it working no problems with entourage x, and the exchange update. The Macs are not bound to our active directory or anything. For the exchange account settings I've been a bit confused about which info I need to enter in the account properties. Our e-mail addresses are all firstname@domain.com, our usernames are all firstnamelastname. For both the domain and the exchange server options, I've tried the windows domain, domain.com which is set up on our server, I've tried the IP address of our exchange server, 192.168.1.4, and the webmail address - (both http and https) http://192.168.1.4/exchange and http://mail.domain.com/exchange and the auto configuration thing doesn't find the server or anything. The password is correct and the mailbox is enabled for OWA because i can login using web access. I also get errors saying the correct root certificates are not installed - or something like that - and I have no idea how to install a certificate to connect to small business server. My problems might be that I don't have DAV enabled or LDAP but I have know idea how to do this. Why does IMAP work in entourage x but not in entourage 2004 - I'm pretty happy to use IMAP just to get this damn thing working. Anyone experienced this? This is getting pretty frustrating!!     - Moving POP folders to IMAP on En Vx Apologies if this has been discussed before. Last weekend I upgraded all Mac users from POP3 to Exchange (IMAP) accounts. We are using Win server 2003 & exchange 2003. I wanted to move the (POP3) folders off the local hard disk to the new IMAP folder tree. (on the server) Our users seem to have rather large folder hierarchies and I can only seem to create a new folder with the same name and then select all the messages and move them a folder at a time.     - Entourag users receive winmail.dat from Outlook I have two Windows Outlook XP users who forward calendar appointments and contacts to a Mac 0S (10.2) Entourage X user. From one user's Outlook XP he receives usable and readable calendar appointments and contacts that he can easily import into his address book or calendar; from the other he receives an unreadable winmail.dat file.     - Mail not being delivered to Entourage 2004 from Exchange 2000 Hi, We use an Exchange 2000 server, and I have upgraded to Entourage 2004 from Entourage X (which went very smoothly!). We also have some computers using Outlook 2001 (on OS 9) and various Windows versions of Outlook. The Entourage 2004 users in the office have noticed that they are not getting mail delivered to them, even though it has been addressed to them. When they open Outlook (Windows or 2001) the mail is sitting there in the Inbox (or subfolder) but it does not appear in the corresponding folder in Entourage 2004. As far as Entourage is concerned, this email does not exist. Note: They only opened Outlook when they had found out that they had not received the message. Other later messages had been delivered to them. Resetting Synchronisation does not work. Has anyone else come across this?     - Entourage 2004 and .Mac problem? I'm suddenly having a strange problem with Entourage 2004 (OS 10.3.4) and my .Mac account -- all has been behaving fine for the last week or so, but today messages won't mark as read, or they'll mark as read in the inbox, but re-mark as unread once they move to the deleted messages folder, or they'll appear to delete but reappear in the inbox (marked as read) when a new message arrives.     - How Do I stop entourage from offering addresses from old emails? I have entourage 2004 and whenever I create a new email to be = sent, it=20 shows all of the addresses of people that I have emails.     - Entourage 2004 resource booking problems We have a problem that came up after upgrading to Entourage 2004. If you create an appointment and include a resource (let's say a conference room) in the To: field, all of the recipients (Mac and PC) who were invited end up getting 2 e-mails. One is correct while the other one looks like it is only supposed to go to those who administer the resource. The recipients' name isn't even in the To: field of the second message yet they end up getting it. If a PC user tries to accept the wrong appointment they get an error saying they do not have rights.     - Filtering or Finding on Company is slowwww One of my users has thousands of contacts. When filtering by name, the results are nearly instantaneous, but when filtering by company, it's very slow. This holds true with both the QuickFIlter and the Find tool.     - Entourage Mac vs. Exchange 2000 Standard Hi,=20 I'm trying to figure out if this problem is an exchange server related=20 problem or a client-side misconfiguration problem... About three Entourage Mac (v10.1.4) clients here have been experiencing=20 this problem while retrieving their inbox: "Mail could not be received at this time" "Unspecified Server Error: 0x50b" Despite this message, new mail is retrieved from the server; however two = of=20 the clients' inboxes indicate that they contain unread messages (ie. = bold=20 "INBOX (1)" in the side panel), yet no unread messages are indicated in = the=20 list view. I've rebuilt the inbox cache in Entourage, but to no avail. On the Exchange server (2000 Standard), the event log message that=20 coresponds to the Entourage error is:=20 Source: IMAP4SVC ID: 1023 Message: Error error code occurred while rendering message message id = for=20 download for user name. Explanation: This is an occasional timing error caused by not locking = the=20 mailbox during use. This can be safely ignored unless these errors occur = frequently. That's fine, but it happens EVERY time they try to retrieve mail. Does = anyone=20 have any information on the cause of this and how to fix it?     - Alphabetized Address book & Company Names Hi, A topic that has been touched but w/o any resolution. I have several contacts that are just company names (eg. Restaurants, etc.). When I try to sort the names in the Address book, the records with only company names are at the top (assuming A-Z ordering) and all jumbled (I think it is date added). Anyway, to make sure they are ordered. As an fyi, I have done the following but didn't work 1. Rebuilt database 2.     - sync two computers via palm I am trying to sync identical Entourage Profiles, specifically Calendar via a Treo 600. same software and conduit settings on both One Machine is an 800mhz iMac other is a 1.2ghz G4 Powerbook.     - Read Receipts (or am I just stupid) Hi There, OK, so I know that read receipts are not compulsory under rfc822 but how do I get Entourage to ask for one anyway? I can't see it on any of the options or in the Help system but they're in Outlook (under Windoze) so why not in Entourage? Actually my real problem is our works VPN and firewall. If I'm outside the firewall and send a mail using my works address to someone inside the wall, it gets rejected (with no error messages) because I'm not inside the firewall. Entourage thinks it went OK, the recipient doesn't get anything. Not good!! I could get around it OK if our VPN was 100% reliable -- I could get inside using the VPN and then mail doesn't get rejected -- but it's not. What I'm looking for is something to indicate that the mail got through. Anyone got any hints? I suppose I could attach a signature from some web server somewhere with a hit counter that says the recipient looked up the server? Only problem is most people have "download images" turned off to stop spammers doing just that.     - Read Receipts Am I correct in saying that Entourage does not utilize read and delivery = receipts, a feature that even it's free Outlook Express for Windows has? = My=20 understanding is that you can set up Entourage so all out going messages = request a read receipt, but that if those messages are sent to = Entourage, no=20 receipt will be returned. So, that's not really a viable work around.     - Trouble replying to sender I recently upgraded to Panther and my Entourage is acting funny. When I = click reply to a message, the address it automatically replies to is = mine, not=20 the sender's. =20 When I look at the mail preferences though, the box next to "reply using = default address" is not checked.     - Selecting folders for synchronization I recently setup Entourage 2004 to work with my company's Exchange 2000 Server. It works great, but I'm highly disappointed with the time it takes to sync. I have lots of folders and lots of messages in each of them. I've setup a schedule to do "Send and Receive All" every 10 minutes, but I don't want to sync all the folders everytime. Is there a way I can select which folders to synchronize in a schedule ? When I edit my schedules, there's a box which says "Click here for Account Options" but that doesn't do anything. I just get greyed out files in the import window when I get to my older MS User Data. The window behind it says it is importing... but after a period of time.. 30 minutes...     - Re-Occuring All-Day events display on wrong day FIX Hey gang. I"m new to the group and I'm positive this has been driving everyone else crazy. If you're not familiar with the problem, I'll explain it briefly.. then my work around below. Problem: I make an 'all-day' event. No problem. event shows on correct day in calendar view, etc... Once you make the even occur multiple times and save it, the event jumps to the wrong day in the caledar view. It appears to be a time-zone issue. When you make the event, the yellow warning bar says 'Event and computer time zones do not match. in calendar views the event time is adjusted to display correctly.' It appears as if Entourage always thinks my mac's timezone is Central (US & Canada). If I change the event's time zone to central, the warning goes away. I ran the experiment setting my mac to pacific time zone, and then the default event time zone (in preferences). When I make a new event, it still shows the error, stating that the event and mac are set to different time zones. Again, setting the event back to central, clears up the problem. My current work around has been to simply set my mac, and Entourage prefs to Central time zone, and I dont appear to have any problems. Although who knows what will happen once the bug is fixed, and I change my mac back to eastern central time zone like it's supposed to be. If this issue has been addressed... Verify that OWA is working in your browser. Your Entourage server entry
should look similar to the URL in OWA. For example, if you have

http://owa.company.com/exchange/steve/inbox/... in your browser,

Use owa.company.com/exchange in Entourage

If your OWA URL starts with "https:" make sure that SSL is enabled on the
advanced tab of your Exchange account.
