Hi, I'm using Entourage 2004. I've been using entourage for years to
send Word files to groups of people, but just recently I've been
getting complaints that the attachments are in MIME format, which they
can't open. I checked my prefs, it's still clicked to encode using
AppleDouble, as it has been all along. I even tried changing the pref
then changing it back to see if that helped, but it's still sending
these mime files without me wanting it to. Also, I've got compression
turned off.

I now have to manually log into a web-based server to send these
attachments, and that kind of defeats the whole point of a program like
Entourage. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Go to Entourage > Preferences, and, under "Mail & News Preferences", click
the "Compose" button. Under "Attachments", next to "Encode for", select
"Windows (MIME/Base64)", and see if that helps.
