Help! I'm trying to transfer my Entourage data (Office 2004, Student
and Teacher Edition) data from a laptop running OS 10.4 to another
running OS 10.5. Whole setup syncs with an Oulook server.

Clean reinstall, then replaced the Microsoft User Data folder on the
new computer with the one from the old computer. Mail, notes, and
contacts transferred fine, and it syncs with the server without
trouble, but no projects. Then I exported the Entourage database from
the old computer and imported it to the new one. Still no Office
Projects data. I have the old Office Projects folder in Documents on
the new computer, but Entourage isn't finding it. What am I missing?

Thanks.

Steve

Just a guess here (I don't use Projects), but can you open your old data if
you choose "Subscribe to a Project" from the File menu?

Thanks for the suggestion, Adam. I tried it, but it didn't work. Asks
me to choose the .rge file for the project to which I would like to
subscribe, and when I choose the imported rge file (now sitting on my
desktop), get the error message (Entourage could not read the data in
this rge file). Not sure I understand what is going on, since it's the
same version of the software.

More than likely it's corrupt data it can't read. I don't use the Project
Center either, but you might get something from this account of problems
with the PC that will help you.

Sounds like you're right, and the page was helpful, since it convinced
me not to mess with this further. Rather, I recreated my Project
folders by brute force. Entourage recognized that there were already
folders with those names, so I didn't have to put the documents in,
but I did have to put the Project tags back on the associated e-mails.

Thanks for the help.
