 - Attachments Difficulties More often than not, when I attempt to send email with several attachments, it doesn't work -- I get an error message saying "An unknown error (4362) occurred." So, more often than not, I need to combine the attachments into a zip archive before attaching and sending. At first I thought it was because the total size of the attachments was somehow too large. But it seems to be more dependent on the number of attachments (more than 2 is always a problem) rather than their size. I've read that the 4362 error could be caused by a corrupted database. But I've had some (apparently unrelated) problems when Entourage told me that the database was corrupted, and I followed through with verification and rebuilding. However, the attachment difficulties remain. (I've also had Entourage tell me that the database was corrupted, but the verification exercise resulted in a "clean bill of health.")  - Problem with attachments after upgrade from 2004 to 2008 Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: pop Ever since I upgraded to 2008, when I send an email with an attachment, the attachment gets compressed as a .zip file that neither I nor the recipient of the email can open.  - Some minor Entourage issues I need help with... Hello, need some help with these issues: 1. When I receive new mail and Entourage is open, (but not in the Entourage window) the logo bounces and has the email icon in the logo. The big E, bounces non stop until I check the message. Is there a way to have it either bounce a certain amount of times (preferred) or not bounce at all? I do like the email icon in the E, but not the bouncing. 2. When I reply to or open a new mail, the new window always opens up at the top left of the screen. I keep moving it in the center to send an email, and have tried closing the window in a new position to lock it there, with no luck. Is there a way to have the new and reply emails open in a certain spot? 3. Minor issue, but in Outlook 2007, when deleting an email, Outlook would go DOWN one email.  - Microsoft Sync causes iPhone synchronization to hang Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC Email Client: Exchange Often when I attempt to synchronize my iPhone with my desktop, iTunes stalls during the contact or calendar sync. When this happens, I find that if I open Activity Monitor and force quit the Microsoft Sync process iTunes will complete the sync with my phone. I'm assuming the problem has something to do with the fact that I have Entourage 11.4 set to sync its contacts and calendar with Apple Address Book and iCal. Is anyone else having this problem?  - Entourage 2008 Sent Items not Syncing with Exchange 2003 We have one user in our company using Entourage 2008 on our Exchange 2003 server. Every thing in his account is working normally except that in the last few months, the Sent Items folder is not updating on the server. All of his sent items are in the Sent Items folder in Entourage, but when he looks at his Sent Items folder using OWA, none of the messages are there. Any ideas?  - Call Entourage from within an application.. Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) I have an web application. One of the customer pages includes a link with an email address as a value. When clicked, I'd like to pass this email address to Entourage (or even better, whatever the default email client might be, but I don't know how to determine this..) and have it open with the "TO" populated.  - POP downloading--Entourage & iPod Touch I'm still looking into moving to IMAP and having my Yahoo mail forwarded to a gmail account. But until I have a chance to sort that out, I have a question about downloading messages from a POP account. Right now I have Yahoo Mail Plus so that I can download messages to my Entourage account and have them offline. I also have it set to leave messages on the Yahoo servers until they're deleted from my computer. If I set up my Yahoo account on my iPod Touch also, what problems might I have? Do Yahoo's servers remember what's been downloaded to each device--or just what's been downloaded at all? For example, if I read mail from the Touch through the Mail feature (not within Safari), will those e-mails then not be downloaded to Entourage on my Mac?  - Entourage 2008 - 'Now Updating Contacts' Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange For some reason Entourage continually says 'Now Updating Contacts' in the bottom right corner, unless its doing something else (in which case it says whatever else it is doing), but it always defaults back to "Now Updating Contacts'. Sent items from an iPhone or any ActiveSync device connected to an exchange server are appearing in Entourage as encrypted/encoded/unreadable. the same items appear fine in OWA and Outlook. Though it has been an issue for years, my feeling is we are going to see a number of confused users now that the iPhone supports ActiveSync.  - Messages Moved From Exchange Inbox to My Computer Inbox Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Messages addressed directly to me or in a list of others are moved from the Exchange Inbox to the My Computer Inbox even thought there are no rules defined. If a e-mail is sent to a Group with my e-mail included then it stays in the Exchange Inbox and it is not moved. I manually copied all the mail from the My Computer Inbox to the Exchange Inbox and then deleted the messages. I shut down my computer for the day and the next morning upon starting Entourage 2008 it again moved all the e-mail addressed directly to me back to the My Computer Inbox.  - Kerberos authentication oddities Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange I am running Office 2008 for Mac on a machine that is bound to an AD domain. I am also running Messenger. I am logging into the machine using an AD account, so I should be using Kerberos. When I launch Entourage, it starts synchronizing, but I'll get the message, "this Exchange Server does not support Kerberos authentication." In the meantime mail is synchronizing behind the error message, and Messenger is logging in. There is only one account configured. I click Cancel, and continue to use Kerberos authentication. I use entourage to manage my exchange account. I have a back-up of the main identity file from just before the delete. Great, right? Sure, except that when I swap out the current (without calendar data) main identity with the back-up main identity (with calendar data), the data populates the calendar, but then gets wiped when entourage syncs with the exchange server. Specifically, the data disappears when syncing is at the "Updating sync issues" stage (as noted in the lower right hand corner of entourage during sync). Neither I or my IT girl can sort out how to force entourage to use the local calendar data instead of the blank server calendar data. Any ideas? Thanks! On one of the accounts, on the server side, all folders showed up, but on my client side (on my computer) some of the folders didn't show up. I've Live Sync checked.  - SMTP Authentication failed Version: v.X Operating System: Mac OS X 10.0 (Cheetah) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop Whenever I try to send an email from the email address mac2@agvsport.com or when I try to receive email from other accounts, I get an "SMTP Authentication failed. The username/password or security settings were incorrect" (something like that). It then asks for an account name and password. Whatever I type is incorrect (even when I try to change the login SMTP options in the Account settings for mac1). The SMTP site used is smtp.1and1.com. I cannot access the account for www.1and1.com (no one can remember the password for the account used on this site). Is there some way around the SMTP authentication? Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Does anyone have a good way to search for unanswered meeting requests in one's Inbox? I'd ideally like to set us a saved search so that I can display quickly and easily all requests for meetings - this is sort of the "first thing" I need to do when getting back to the office after vacation. I've tried searching by attachment name ("meeting.ics"), message kind (but only email or newsgroup posting available as options), terms in the ICS attachment, terms in the message "content class" ("calendarmessage") ... I know that I can turn on attachment caching, but this seems like a bad idea just for this application. Perhaps searching with a "Raw Query"? But I can't find a complete list of terms that I can use (nor do I know whether any of them would actually work for me...).  - Entourage 2008 doesn't pull some mail folders and a Calendar from I have a Mac Mini running Mac OS X v.10.5.4, with Entourage 2008 v. 12.1.1 on it. I need to access my own Exchange 2007 SP1 mailbox. I'm not interested in other people's calendars, not interested in synchronization with iCal. My Exchange account in Entourage is set up as follows: Name: My name E-mail address: mylastname@mycompany.net Authentication: Use my account information Account ID: mylastname Domain: MYNETBIOSDOMAIN Exchange server: servername.mycompany.local (single server running all the roles) This DAV service requires SSL: checked Public folder server: servername.mycompany.local/public LDAP server: servername.mycompany.local This server requires me to log on: checked In my mailbox I have dozens of e-mail folders, calendar full of entries, and a bunch of contacts. I have verified all that with Outlook and Outlook Web Access. In Entourage, I have all those e-mail folders visible, containing all those messages, except one single folder - it's empty. On the "server" side, it contains something like 70 messages. Also, the Calendar is empty - not showing any events in Entourage. The Outlook version contains between one and three events for each day. So I have this weird problem - everything seems to be hunky-dory, except for one single e-mail folder and a Calendar (I'm *not* talking about "On My computer" calendar). Outlook and Entourage and *not* running at the same time. I deleted and recreated the Exchange account in Entourage. Emptied the cache and told it to "Synchronize now" multiple times. Tried to sniff the traffic with tcpflow, but everything is encrypted (SSL). Tried to figure out, how the messages in that one folder might be different from messages in other folders - nothing special about them (date range, senders, recipients). The Entourage shows in the Status this moving blue ribbon saying "Updating Calendar", then moves on to updating other folders, but still nothing shows up in the Calendar. Calendar's folder properties, Storage: shows the size of 446K, which is about correct. I'm pretty much out of ideas myself, and would appreciate suggestions - thanks in advance.  - send/receive messages from hotmail Version: 2008 Hello, I'm experiencing problems with the 2008 entourage version. when i installed it, it started receiving all messages i had in my mailbox but then after receiving 978 mails (ancient ones) it just stopped. Now each time I try to make it receive/send messages it won't work and prints "restarting planification 'send receive all' in x minutes", x starting by 10 and then discounting. (actually I have a french version so it says "La planification 'Envoyer et recevoir tout' s'exécutera dans x minutes". If anybody knows how I can make Entourage work, I would be very pleased. I just had to get this out there; This mail client seems to work well, but the purple color is simply cruel. I believe it to be a sick joke on the part of a development leader somewhere behind the scenes. If no ability to change the color was to be added, how could no one in the development team have the epiphany of using something neutral -maybe GRAY??? The suggestion on the previous post was to consider calibrating the monitor, "as this can often make a big a difference". Hopefully no one out there was silly enough to attempt this fix for the purple and pink interface. It's silly oversights like this that drive people to the Apple site in the first place.  - Rules Suddenly Broken; Duplicate Email Message I recently got a new iMac, and imported all of my OS 9 OE files into Entourage 2004. In OE, I had an extensive set of rules that I had set up to work with an equally extensive set of folders. Everything was working as it had in OE...until a couple of weeks ago. At first, virtually all of my incoming email was ending up in my Inbox. Then things improved, but never returned to normal: Several rules still seem to remain "broken," as the emails they're supposed to act on continue to end up in my Inbox. Sometimes, I can select one of those messages, and tell Entourage to "Apply All Rules," and that message will be moved to the appropriate folder; other times, that doesn't work, but selecting the particular rule to apply does; still other times, neither works, and I have to tell Entourage to move that message (or manually drag that message) to the particular folder it belongs. I've tried disabling the rules that appear to remain broken, and then creating new versions of them and enabling the new ones instead. That had no effect. Then today, I discovered that a new email that arrived in my Inbox (which is where it was supposed to end up -- it wasn't subject to any particular rule) was mysteriously replicated in one of my other folders. I deleted it from that folder. However, when I returned to that folder later, another "duplicate" email appeared. No matter how many times I delete the duplicate, another duplicate appears in its place the next time I visit that folder. No other emails are exhibiting this mysterious behavior.  - Recent opinion about "eMessage Archiver"? Greetings: I have downloaded and tested "eMessage Archiver" for the latest Entourage 2004 (Leopard). I'm very impressed. However, I haven't seen any recent posts about it.  - Can't print custom Entourage views Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop "Print" is grayed out whenever I open a custom view in Entourage. There doesn't seem to be much point in allowing me to set up complex searches, and then preventing me from printing the results. Am I missing something? Is there anyway to do this in Entourage 08 ?? I don't want to setup a share for him cause he is rarely here, and it is a big pain in the ass ... It could also help if my laptop gets stolen ....  - Sent Emails Unreadable. Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Will this issue EVER be fixed? Emails sent from a Windows Mobile device show up in my Sent folder as having no "To:" name and the subject on all of them is "<no subject>" About half of my emails are sent from on the road so about half of my Sent emails are unreadable unless I use a web browser (which of course only runs in "lite" mode unless you're running Internet Explorer. Since I'm running on a Mac AND running Entourage, why should I have to do this?) This issue was present in Entourage 2004 and here we are years later and it's not fixed. (Works great in both Apple Mail and Thunderbird...but not in Microsoft's own email app) Can we expect an update on this? It would be most appreciated. I understand that i can see this in the list view, but that doesnt serve my purpose of seeing how much time i have in between my last meeting and that event tonight you know!  - Merging POP and Exchange Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: intel Email Client: Exchange In Entourage in Office 2008, I have an Exchange email inbox for work and a POP email inbox for personal use. I also have an Exchange based work calendar and a personal calendar. I cannot merge both these calendars on my personal computer because i don't want my personal appointments to show on my company's exchange based calendar. but I want to merge them both onto my World Edition Blackberry.  - Exporting contact info from messages Hello. Is there a way to select a range of messages in my Inbox and just export the "from" data?  - Search using an asterix (*) not the same between '04 and '08 In Entourage 2004 I would do calendar searches for double asterix (**) as that's how we mark pending meetings. In Entourage 2008, the astreix is apparently treated as a wildcard and I'm getting every calendar appointment. Is there any way that I can search for the raw text "**"??? I understand I can just put ** in the search for Subject, but that doesn't get me the full list view that 2004 would. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Click on any column heading to sort by that column. Click again to reverse
the sort.
