    - Multiple Users I have two different users set up on my OSX due to different system preferences. Both accounts are running Entourage for mail / contacts / etc. I have moved the Microsoft User Data file on the main user over to the Shared folder and then created symlink to the Documents folder on the primary user account. Everything works in Entourage like it should. When I try to do the same thing for the secondary user, I get a message when I launch Entourage that the database is corrupted and I can't go any further. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?     - Netbarrier anti-spywear and Entourage (Office 2004) Hi: A rather technical questions about my anti-spy wear software and its behavior when checking my email. I use Netbarrier X4 and have it set to deny any internet connections I have not authorized. I use Entourage from Office 2004 for my email. When I go to get or send email, I get a warning that "LaunchCFMApp" is trying to make an internet connection. However, a search does not find an application called LaunchCFMApp, and so I can't add it to the trusted list. From a LaunchCFMApp crash log, I see that LaunchCFMApp is a command issued by Parent: WindowServer [70]. And, of course, I see no application with that name either. The obvious, adding Entourage itself to the list of applications permitted to connect does not help. How do I get Netbarrier to learn this is an authorized connection?     - Problems across multiple programs... This is complicated, so please bear with me... I have a program called Digital Photo Professional, distributed through Canon. When I take a raw photo file and convert it to either .tiff or ,jpeg, I get an error message window, from within Stuffit Expander, which has mysteriously opened, saying the following: "The file GNZ07D70A1A0A2107.vbf does not appear to be compressed or encoded.It is advisable that you obtain further information about the contents of this file from the sender or provider of this file." A search of my hard drive reveals no such file. A web search reveals the .vbf extension to be a 'Microsoft Outlook Free/Busy File'. I do not have Outlook installed on this machine. Entourage has been crashing lately when trying to open an .html formatted email from a trusted sender after sending the message before it to the trash, usually on the order of 2 to 3 times a day. What the heck is going on with Microsoft on my machine...? I went to the support portion of the Mactopia site to find that I am 2 updates behind, so I will take care of that when I finish this.     - how to add 'missing' public imap folder Hi, My main email acct., which I access using Entourage, is an IMAP acct. on my University's Cyrus email system. I have permissions to see a NUMBER of public folders and, for the most part, I see them. There are a couple of folders which, for unclear reasons, are basically invisible to me even though I have the same perms on them as I have on the others... These 'invisible' folders are at the same hierarchical level as the 4 other folders I can see... yet, I can't see them. Any thoughts on how to 'force' them to appear? Problem: I got a new Mac and set up Entourage with the same 3 identities, but now ALL the mail from ALL the identities is being delivered to my personal account. Defeats the purpose.     - Attachment Not Received OS 10.4.10 Ibook G4 1.5 GB Ram Entourage 11.3.2 Hi, I've been sending .jpeg attachments of iPhoto photographs that I have re-worked using Adobe PhotoDeluxe, an older, out of market, wonderful little program, to a recipient who can't open them. My attachments have almost always been received by the people I send them to. When I save the Adobe files (and any file I'm working with) I do so in a .jpeg format because that extension seems so universal. These files always upload to ebay and craigslist. In Adobe PhotoDeluxe there are other choices of extension when saving the Adobed file. They are: PhotoDeluxe 2.0 & 1.0 Photoshop 2.0 3.0 & 4.0 Adobe Acrobat BMP EPS FlashPix JPEG PCX PICT File Pict Resource PNG Targa TIFF At the bottom of an Entourage window are my choices on sending, which I don't know much about. "1.5 GB Ram Encode for any computer (AppleDouble) no compression, Windows file name extensions" I hope one of you experts knows about the window that drops down when the above is clicked. I don't know yet if the recipient uses Mac or PC. I practiced once with a photo file of only 500 kb. Any ideas why he isn¹t getting the attachments?     - Shared Mailbox / Group Mailbox and Entourage Hello: I hope that I can explain this properly. I support a number of Macs running Office 2004 / Entourage 11.3.6-8 connecting to exchange server 2003. In this organization they have set up Group mail Boxes i.e GMB- adservices@XYZ.com, the Macs have no problems connecting to these mailboxes. This time the user set up a "Shared" mailbox and granted access to various users. On the PCs the users were able to OPEN other users inbox and get the Shared mailbox with access to inbox - sent items etc. When I go on the Mac and say open other users mailbox and the GAL finds the correct mailbox it just gives me a icon of the networked mailbox but no inbox drafts etc no spill-down. Is there a difference between Shared and Group mailboxes? Why does it work on the PC and not on the Mac? Silly question I know but can this be done or does the user have to go back to the server folks and request a "Group" mailbox.     - Help Restarting Entourage Sounds In anticipation of the arrival of OSX 10.5 this weekend I did some housekeeping by trashing old user preference files. After restarting my Entourage 2004 v11.3.6 is muted. I went to the Ent General Preferences/Notifications and everything looks okay but NOTHING happens when I click on the speaker icons next to the Microsoft Sound Set Can someone tell what preference file I may have trashed by mistake and I may be able to find it on my backup drive. Appointments added at home didnÂ´t show up at work, but all appointments added at the office showed up fine. (Contacts worked both ways.) My solution was to add a new calendar to Entourage. It has the same path on (to?) our Exchange server but - magic! - all appointments I add no matter where get synchronized. For example 8am - 10am is purple and that is for phone calls and every day 8am - 10am is color coded purple because I put it as a reoccuring occasion.     - Missing email... On October 8, I had to do a clean install of Tiger on my master HD on my Macintosh G4. I backed up my important data on my second HD before I did the install, including my MUD folder. After I copied all of my user info back on my main HD, I opened Entourage X. I only had email from October 2005 to July 2006. My database, which was created on July 1, 2006, was last modified on September 29, 2007. Why would it show dates from the past?     - Font size problems with Hotmail and Entourage I've had this problem for a long time and finally figured out a fix: When I reply, using Entourage, to HTML mail sent to my Hotmail account, the person receiving it would always complain that the font was inexplicably large. Huge actually. 72 pt or more. I figured out that I was using Gil Sans as my default font for HTML mail and that by changing my default to a font more common (in this case Trebuchet MS) the problem disappeared and the HTML I sent via Entourage and my Hotmail account showed up correctly with the normal sized font.     - Receiving duplicate emails/incomplete emails in INBOX I've been having trouble more often lately receiving duplicate emails in my INBOX. I get 2 copies of the email listed, only one is a complete message download, and when I delete it later it does not leave my INBOX. It will not allow me to download the rest of the email and I can't seem to "clean up" my INBOX of these duplicate messages. Any ideas? I have an IMAP account, connected to my university email server.     - E2004: Repost. Extra spaces added when Outlook users quote me. I hope the list will indulge this repost. One of the more irritating aspects of Entourage 2004 is the extra spaces that get added to my text, when it's quoted back at me by Outlook users! If I send a message to another Entourage user, they can reply with the full body of my message quoted and the character-spacing is faithful to the original. With Outlook users, extra spaces appear in the text and... ...it looks like I can't type properly! Can anyone else duplicate this behaviour? It's had me using "plain text" email for the last few years, because it looks so bad. And it's nothing to do with kerning. There are extra spaces being added.     - Blank received field Hi, The received field is blank for some (but not all) of the e-mails that I have sent with Entourage. It is for my work e-mail via an exchange server and when I got to the office MS Outlook showed the received time, so there must be a setting or something in Entourage that I need to change.     - Error 4362 I'm running an early MacBook Pro, Mac OSX 10.4.10. I use Microsoft Entourage X, version 10.1.6. Today, I went to my Deleted Items folder to retrieve a message I'd accidentally deleted. There was nothing there, even though it was in bold with a (2) after it indicating at least 2 unread messages were in it.     - Hotmail Inbox Issue Hi all, I apologize if starting a new post was the wrong thing to do but my issue seems to be a bit different than the other posts I have seen on this same topic. So the basic issue is that some of my messages from my Hotmail Inbox are being moved to my local folder inbox but it seems to be a very select few. Basic setup: Entourage 11.3.6 on OS 10.4.9 4 accounts: GMail (POP) as main/default, exchange account, AOL (IMAP), Hotmail The issue: I have noticed two instances where the item from the hotmail folder was moved to my local inbox. Instance #1: I received an email with both my hotmail and GMail addresses as recipients and found I had two identical messages in my local inbox. One was the GMail address, the other was the hotmail address. Instance #2: I wanted to have access via to a Powerpoint file in case something happens to my flash drive. So I sent my self an email in Entourage using my GMail account as my sender address and my Hotmail as my recipient. Initially the message appeared in the hotmail inbox. However when I replied to it (so the conversation would be readily accesible via the GMail web interface) and it was recieved in Entourage, the message from the hotmail inbox was moved to the local inbox. Prior to these two instances, I had not seen this behavior at all. The only the other piece of information I can offer is that both of these instances occurred after my account had been upgraded to the new Live version of Hotmail. I should point out that I have been using Outlook and Entourage to access my FREE hotmail account for many years because my account was grandfathered into their current policy of prohibiting access to the free accounts. So my question is really how do I stop this behavior from repeating in the future? Or do I just grin and bear it? Thanks for any insight you can offer.     - importing contacts I am attempting to import my contacts from Apple's Address book to Entourage, when I select "from a Program" Address book is not an option, when I attempt to export from Address Book then only Vcard is an option not a text file.     - Shift click not working Hello, I recently imported all my email from Outlook to Entourage and am in the process of re-organizing all my mail folders. (Entourage maintained the main folders but none of the subfolders). I have tons of subflders and would like to just select all the appropriate sub folders and move/drag them to their main folder however, i am not able to select more than one item at a time. Specifically, I'm attempting to share a subfolder in my Inbox, and a sub-address book located in my main Contacts.     - Problem opening entourage 2004 Ive got a message saying 'unable to open, rebuild' when I try to open entourage. I've done this several times (using the check option and then rebuilding) but it hasn't worked. Now it's saying there's not enough memory to do it any more. Any advice on where to go from here? a contact born on January 15, 1985 shows up in Apple's Address Book as being
born on January 15, 2085. Is there any way I can solve that problem?

Hmmm, this usually happens for really old birthdays. This is the first
report I've seen for this type of change.

Hi Michel!

What version of Mac OS Are you running? Is it fully patched? Also, is
your Office 2004 software fully patched to 11.3.8 (Entourage will show
11.3.6)?
